Howbury School is located in a serene environment in Mende, Maryland. We are a family oriented school catering for children from 3 months to 11 years. Our learning environment is safe and stimulating. Our pupils are educated in a structured, relaxed and caring environment .

The school officially opened in January 2011 offering only creche services, by September 2011 the nursery section opened. Propelled by the success of the creche and nursery , the school started offering primary education in September 2013.

We offer an integrated, broad and balanced curriculum; a blend of the English curriculum and the Nigerian national curriculum. Our curriculum will be complemented by the Cambridge Primary curriculum which provide seamless progression to the Cambridge Secondary curriculum and the IGCSE exam. We are currently pursuing registration with the British council to enable us prepare our children for the Cambridge Primary checkpoint tests. The Cambridge checkpoint test are marked by Cambridge examiners and provide external international benchmark for pupil performance.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nursery School Lead to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood education, and extensive knowledge of the British Nursery Curriculum.
As a Nursery Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring the delivery of highquality educational experiences that promote the social, emotional, and intellectual development of young learners.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
 Develop and implement a rich, engaging curriculum based on the British Nursery Curriculum framework.
 Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to thrive and develop holistically.
 Collaborate with staff to plan and execute ageappropriate learning activities and assessments.
 Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and maintain high standards of care and education.
 Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress.
 Promote a positive, inclusive culture within the nursery that supports both staff and students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (B.Ed or equivalent). A PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a leadership role within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
Proven experience with the British Nursery Curriculum, including planning, assessment, and delivery.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of educators.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, staff, and parents.
A deep understanding of child development and ageappropriate teaching strategies.
Ability to create and maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
Proficiency in the use of technology for educational purposes and administrative tasks.
Passionate about early childhood development and committed to providing a nurturing learning environment.
Capable of driving continuous improvement within the nursery to enhance the overall educational experience.
