NSCC commends Gov Otu for signing Senior Citizens Bill into law

The National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC) expresses profound appreciation to the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Bassey Otu for signing into law the Cross River State Senior Citizens Centre bill.

NSCC Director General, Dr Emem Omokaro in an official statement says the landmark legislation by the Cross River State House of Assembly marks, a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen the protection of the  rights of older persons; to inclusion and to access health, economic, and  social services in Cross River State.

The statement signed by the Head, Corporate Affairs, Media and Communications, Mr Omini Oden, commends Governor Otu’s visionary leadership and commitment to social inclusion, recognizing the invaluable contributions of senior citizens to the state’s development trajectory.

NSCC hopes that the law will provide a framework for addressing the needs and concerns of senior citizens in the state, ensuring their dignity and wellbeing.

Dr Omokaro appreciates the Governor’s efforts in promoting the quality of life of senior citizens and looks forward to collaborating with the Cross River State government to ensure effective implementation of the law.
