Sunny skies Saturday morning belied windy, chilly conditions on the National Weather Service’s forecast for the weekend and the coming week.
The NWS Sacramento Office advised north state residents to be prepared for wind gusts of up to 55 mph through 10 a.m. Sunday and cold mornings through Thursday. Probabilities of sub-freezing temperatures Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday range from 15% to 50%.
Weekend winds are expected to blow north to east and “may cause downed tree limbs and weakened trees and localized power outages. Unsecured items could be impacted, including temporary structures and decorations.” The gusts could create “difficult driving conditions for high profile vehicles.”
