Job Summary:

  • Coollink.ng is seeking a highly skilled and proactive NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network and system infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of network operations, a focus on uptime, and the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Monitoring:

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and integrity using network management tools.
  • Identify and escalate network performance issues, outages, and alarms.
  • Ensure all network and system devices are functioning optimally to meet service level agreements (SLAs).

Troubleshooting & Incident Response:

  • Investigate and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring rapid recovery from failures.
  • Analyze system logs, alarms, and error messages to identify and address root causes.
  • Coordinate with the support team and field engineers to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.

Maintenance & Optimization:

  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network systems and infrastructure.
  • Optimize network configurations to improve performance and reliability.
  • Conduct firmware and software updates on network equipment.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network incidents, root causes, and resolutions.
  • Prepare and present network performance reports to the NOC Manager and senior management.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping of network changes, configurations, and maintenance activities.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Liaise with vendors, service providers, and third-party contractors for network-related issues.
  • Provide timely communication to internal teams regarding network outages or planned maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the IT and support teams to improve system reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in network operations, system administration, or technical support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of network technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN, Firewalls, Routers, Switches).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent network certifications.
  • Experience in the IT or telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
