Abia Comets FC forward, Maduka Emeka, has revealed that he is confident of the team’s chance of getting a positive result in Sunday’s Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday 10 clash away to Rovers FC.
Maduka and his Comets teammates will head into the encounter which will take place at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar in good form eyeing extension to their four-game unbeaten run.
While speaking with the Abia Comets FC Media, shortly after the team’s training session at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Maduka expressed confidence that the team will put up a good performance against Rovers FC on Sunday in Calabar.
“Yes, the spirit in the camp is quite impressive, because in the last couple of days the team has put a lot of efforts in training, we have come to realize that working hard brings good results, ” he told Abia Comets FC Media.
“Everybody is now on the right path to make sure that we get ourselves into the top of the southern conference standings,” Maduka Emeka told Abia Comets FC Media.
The pacy and skilful forward, who can also play as an attacking midfielder explained that the clash against Rovers FC, will be a vital game for the team moving forward, following a 3-1 home win over Dakkada FC, last Saturday in Umuahia.
He added “Yes, I think we have really improved on our performances than the way we played when the season started. The players are ready and motivated for the clash against Rovers FC on Sunday, because it is an Important game. So it is not a matter of fitness but mindset and focus level of the team.
“The team has improved massively in the past few weeks and you could see it during the matches we have played. We are stronger defensively. So kudos to the technical team for that.
“We’re going to Rovers not to play according to their weakness but to our strength and I believe that we are going to get a positive result.
“I promise all the Abia Comets supporters, that we are going to give our all and to maintain our unbeaten run with a positive result in Calabar on sunday,” he concluded.
