The city of Calabar was totally offline today due to the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) strike over the reduction in fuel and electricity prices.
The strike which commences today in almost every State in Nigeria affected a lot of businesses and other income generating parastatals. While in Calabar, banks, Markets, schools, businesses, state and Federal Secretariats plus other government offices were all shutdown. The roads were dried up and even the busy Mary Slessor, Round about, Mobile by MCC, Effio-Ette and others were also deserted.
