Home-based Super Eagles defeated Ghana 3-1 to qualify for the 2025 African Nations Championship at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.
The first leg ended 0-0 in Ghana, but the hosts produced a stunning performance to seal their place in the competition in style.
Nigeria raced to a 3-0 lead in the first half courtesy of goals from Sadiq Ismail, captain Nduka Junior, and Saviour Isaac.
The Black Galaxies pulled a goal back with 20 minutes to go through Stephen Amankuna to make it 3-1.
It was a sweet revenge for Nigeria, who had previously been eliminated by Ghana from CHAN qualification in 2008 and 2022.
The Home-based Super Eagles will be participating in the competition for the first time since 2018, when they lost in the final against Morocco.
It is also the first time the home-based Eagles will defeat their Ghanaian counterparts in three attempts.
The tournament will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania from February 1-25, 2025.
