The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has remained silent on whether it will extend the contract of its General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi.
Sanusi has faced heavy criticism from some football stakeholders in Nigeria, who are opposed to extending his tenure by another three years.
Despite these concerns, no decision was made on the matter during the NFF’s Annual General Meeting in Asaba.
Sanusi was originally appointed by former NFF President Amaju Pinnick for a four-year term. After completing that term, Pinnick extended Sanusi’s tenure for an additional five years. By December, Sanusi will have served 11 years in Nigerian football, including nearly two years under current NFF President Ibrahim Gusau.
During the recent congress, the Nigeria Football Federation general assembky did not discuss whether Sanusi will continue as General Secretary or a new man will be appointed to man the Glasshouse.
