  • Manchester United renew interest in long-term defensive target

Manchester United are looking forward to the summer to bolster their squad after a disappointing season.

United have struggled at around 13th and 14th in the Premier League for most of the season, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to find goals as the club’s only strikers.

However, at the other end of the pitch, The Red Devil’s defence is remodelling from a traditional back four to a back three with wing-backs on each flank.

Adding to the concerns, top centre-back Lisandro Martinez has torn his ACL ruling him out until at the very least the end of the season, with backup centre-backs Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof set to be out of contract in the summer.

In the winter Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu were both signed to Old Trafford, with Dorgu fitting instantly as a left-wing-back and Heaven being a backup centre-back.

However, in United’s recent match with Leicester, Heaven was stretchered off, with the 18-year-old seen in a protective boot.

With all this in mind, United’s recruitment team are scouring Europe to find younger defenders with impressive potential to join the club.

Now, The Sun has reported that United are renewing interest in 22-centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Everton defender since last summer where the centre-back agreed terms to join United however the deal fell through with the Premier League sides unable to agree a transfer fee.

Everton were determined to hold out for £80 million, whilst United disagreed with the valuation.

However now it’s believed his price tag is around £50 million, in line with United’s submitted offer in the summer.

As such United are once more considering a move for Branthwaite “to be their next defensive kingpin”.

With terms having previously agreed between United and Branthwaite, it’s expected that the defender would consider the move once more, putting the ball in United’s court.

  • Manchester United handed massive Rasmus Hojlund boost

Manchester United have struggled with form in front of goal this season, with strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to find consistency throughout the current campaign.

Hojlund in particular has struggled, hitting a 20-game streak without any goal contributions, let alone hitting the back of the net himself.

As such there’s been a lot of concern around both his ability at Old Trafford, but also the club’s potential to sell him on for anything near the £62 million which saw him move from Atalanta in 2022.

Napoli are reportedly interested with the Red Devils capitalising on this by offering a swap-deal for Victor Osimhen who is out of favour and on loan with Galatasaray, grabbing attention from Europe’s elite thanks to his form.

However, the United striker has just handed his club a massive boost whilst on international duty with the Denmark squad.

Despite his poor run of form, Hojlund has joined his fellow United teammates Patrick Dorgu and Christian Eriksen in being called up for Denmark’s UEFA Nations League League A Quarter-Final matches against Portugal.

Tonight saw the first leg of the fixtures, with Denmark grabbing a 1-0 win, taking the advantage into the second round.

Thankfully for United, it was Rasmus Hojlund who stepped up and scored, grabbing his second goal in two games.

    Rasmus Hojlund scores for Denmark

Hojlund connected with a pass from Andreas Skov Olsen, drilling the ball into the bottom right corner, beating Diogo Costa, much to the disappointment of his teammates Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot who were fielded for Portugal.

After the goal, Hojlund ran to the crowd, hitting Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature celebration in tribute to his idol who he shared the pitch with this evening and back in Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag.

This goal comes in quick succession after finally breaking his goal drought against Leicester in United’s 3-0 win and assisting Diogo Dalot as United beat Real Sociedad 4-1.

Now, with two goals in two games, Ruben Amorim will be hoping that the striker has got his shooting boots back on, especially as after the international break, United have two massive games against third place Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.

However, with Hojlund’s stock still strong across Italy thanks to his spell with Atalanta, making him a proven star in Serie A, any more goals he grabs here on out will only help a potential summer sale, should the club decide to part ways.

  • Barcelona enter race to sign Victor Osimhen

Manchester United are set to face competition from Barcelona for one of their key striker targets, Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian striker is in incredible form for Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, having scored 26 goals and five assists in 30 games.

However, despite his form, he’s still not featuring in Antonio Conte’s long-term plans for Napoli, with the striker looking to depart the club in the summer.

With United’s struggles up front, as Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have been struggling for consistency in front of goal, the club’s recruitment team identified Osimhen as a keen target to strengthen their attack.

As expected, with Osimhen’s form, Europe’s elite are monitoring the situation around the striker, with Corriere dello Sport reporting Barcelona’s interest.

However, Barcelona are hoping that Napoli will lower £63 million price tag for Osimhen, with the LaLiga leaders seeing him as a long-term replacement for 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski.

Victor Osimhen isn’t the only target on the shortlist to be Lewandowski’s successor, with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, LOSC Lille’s Jonathan David, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic also on the list.

Whilst Barcelona are looking at a straight transfer, United are looking at capitalising on Conte’s interest in Hojlund, considering a player-swap deal to bring the Nigerian striker to Old Trafford.

  • Manchester United hierarchy ‘big admirers’ of emerging teenage talent

Manchester United’s commitment to youth development has been clear throughout the season, with multiple young talents earning first-team opportunities.

The likes of Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi-Martin, Harry Amass, and Kobbie Mainoo have all been given minutes at senior level.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho, Toby Collyer, and Leny Yoro have also made an impression despite being just 21 or younger.

With injuries continuing to plague the first-team squad, another rising star is now being tipped as a potential inclusion.

United’s defensive options remain stretched, with Heaven, Yoro, Harry Maguire, and Jonny Evans all currently sidelined.

That has left Matthijs de Ligt and Victor Lindelof carrying the burden, with the club also juggling their Europa League campaign.

If further setbacks arise, one highly-rated academy talent could find himself in contention for a surprise first-team call-up.

Jayden Ngwashi next in line for breakthrough after Ayden Heaven blow

That player is Jayden Ngwashi, who is impressing senior figures at Carrington and international level.

The 16-year-old has already represented both England and Italy in youth football.

Having been fast-tracked through the age groups, he recently made his under-21 debut at just 16 years of age.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, the defender is regarded as ‘one to watch’ after an impressive rise through the ranks.

He was handed his first Premier League 2 appearance earlier this season, just weeks after debuting for the under-18 side.

Youth team head coach Travis Binnion rewarded him with a ten-minute cameo in a 5-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.

United’s backroom staff are understood to hold ‘huge hopes’ for his future, with his rapid development catching the attention of key figures.

With Ruben Amorim’s squad stretched thin, there remains a possibility that he could be handed first-team minutes before the season concludes.

  • Fee Chelsea must pay to cancel Jadon Sancho agreement revealed

The future of Jadon Sancho remains uncertain despite his loan move to Chelsea including a £25m obligation to buy if the club finishes above 14th in the Premier League.

When the deal was struck last year, it was widely expected that the winger would not return to Manchester United.

However, it was reported on CentreDevils yesterday that Chelsea have a clause, and are looking to withdraw from the agreement under certain conditions.

The Blues are exploring whether to pay a “significant fee” to cancel their obligation to sign Sancho permanently.

As things stand, Chelsea remain committed to the original terms.

Although discussions over their long-term plans for the 24-year-old continue.

Fee Chelsea must pay to avoid Jadon Sancho deal revealed

However, Ben Jacobs via his livestream on Playback TV has reported that the club has the ability to send Jadon Sancho back based on performance-related criteria.

The total cost of doing so would be a minimum of £6m, rising to just under £10m depending on wage coverage and a flat fee.

Despite this uncertainty, both Chelsea and Sancho are understood to be happy with how the loan spell has gone so far.

Whether Chelsea see Sancho as a long-term option for the winger spot, remains to be seen.

Sancho’s performances have certainly come under scrutiny from Chelsea fans.

The Englishman produced a fairly promising start to the season, picking up goals and assists.

However, his form has since tailed off having gone several games without making an impact.

It would certainly come as a surprise if he does remain a United player, come the start of next season.

Sancho’s work ethic has often come under question during his time in Manchester.

Whether he’ll be suited to Ruben Amorim’s system, is also another matter up for debate.

The likelihood is Sancho will not be a United player in the long-term.

That is regardless of what Chelsea decide to do.

  • How Manchester United’s ticket prices fare against Premier League rivals

Manchester United’s struggles this season have been hard to ignore.

Inconsistent performances, a lack of attacking identity, and defensive lapses have left supporters frustrated.

Alejandro Garnacho has been unable to find his best form, while Marcus Rashford and Antony have both departed on loan, leaving the team short on quality out wide.

The club’s fight for European football has been a constant uphill battle, and pressure continues to mount on Ruben Amorim to turn things around.

Now, fans have another reason to be upset.

United have announced a five percent increase in season ticket prices for next season, marking the third consecutive year of price hikes.

This decision comes despite other Premier League clubs opting to freeze their prices.

Liverpool, Tottenham, Brentford, Leicester City, and West Ham have all decided against increasing costs, making United’s decision even more controversial.

The club’s explanation for the rise centres around increasing operational costs, with chief executive Omar Berrada stating that the club must remain “financially strong” while also continuing to invest in improving the squad.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

However, many supporters feel this justification falls flat given United’s underwhelming performances this season.

Adding to the frustration is the fact that United have plans to leave Old Trafford by 2030, with a proposed £2 billion stadium move on the horizon.

Many fans are concerned that prices will continue to rise in the coming years, making it increasingly difficult for long-time supporters to afford tickets.

Across the league, Tottenham currently holds the most expensive season ticket at £2,367, followed by Arsenal (£1,726.50) and West Ham (£1,720).

At the other end of the spectrum, Newcastle United offers one of the cheapest at £362, with West Ham’s lowest-priced ticket at £345, as first revealed by the Manchester Evening News.

United have not yet revealed their specific prices, but the five percent increase has already sparked backlash.

This adjustment translates to an average rise of £2.50 per game for adult ticket holders, while prices for under-16s will remain unchanged.

In the 2024/25 season, the cheapest adult season ticket at Old Trafford was priced at £579.

Applying the 5% increase, the new minimum price for the upcoming season would be approximately £608. However, the club has not yet released specific pricing details for the 2025/26 season.

With nine Premier League clubs still yet to release their prices, it remains to be seen whether United will end up as one of the most expensive teams to watch next season.

However, the decision to raise prices while enduring one of their most disappointing campaigns in recent history has only deepened the discontent among the Old Trafford faithful.

  • Gianluca Di Marzio confirms Kenan Yildiz to Manchester United news

Reports suggest that Kenan Yildiz, the highly-rated 19-year-old playmaker, could be sacrificed as the club faces mounting financial pressure.

Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has added fuel to the speculation, revealing that Premier League clubs have been keeping a close eye on the Turkish international.

He specifically mentioned that Manchester United are among the top clubs monitoring Yildiz, with interest growing as Juventus weigh up their options.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Yildiz is the one Juventus sacrifice next summer, regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League,” Di Marzio stated.

“He’s the most sought-after player they have, and Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, are showing strong interest.

“It also depends on who will be coaching Juventus next season, but his sale could allow the club to reinvest significantly.”

Juventus have struggled financially in recent seasons, and missing out on a top four finish would be a major blow.

The club has already committed significant funds to securing players on permanent deals, with reports indicating that they will need to raise at least €80 million to balance their books.

Selling Yildiz, who has been one of their most promising prospects, could provide a much-needed financial boost.

Manchester United, now under the leadership of new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are expected to make major squad changes this summer.

With an emphasis on bringing in young, dynamic talent, Kenan Yildiz fits the profile of a player who could thrive in the Premier League.

Juventus fans, however, are already voicing concerns that offloading such a promising talent could backfire, as has been the case with previous young stars who left the club too soon.

It remains to be seen whether Juventus will cash in on Kenan Yildiz, but with Manchester United closely monitoring the situation, a summer transfer could be on the horizon.

  • Antony hits incredible Real Betis landmark

Antony’s move to Real Betis from Manchester United is proving to be one of the most successful loan deals of the season

The arrival of a new player can often spark excitement, but few could have predicted the impact this one would have.

A struggling career can suddenly find new life with the right move, and a player once written off can become the heartbeat of a club.

Fan expectations shift, narratives are rewritten, and suddenly, a transfer that once seemed temporary starts to feel permanent.

For some, it’s a fresh start.

For others, it’s proof that they were never the problem in the first place.

Antony’s move to Real Betis has been a major success, at least in terms of fan response and shirt sales.

The Brazilian winger, who arrived in January, has already become a fan favourite at the Spanish club, with Diario de Sevilla reporting that he has completely revitalized both the team’s performances and commercial success.

His impact has been immediate, both on and off the pitch.

Since his arrival, he has racked up four goals and four assists in 11 appearances, helping Manuel Pellegrini’s side push towards their goals of European qualification and a deep run in the UEFA Conference League.

Beyond the statistics, his presence has injected a new level of joy and competitiveness into the squad.

    “It’s very important.

    “When you’re happy, things flow.

“I’m very happy here,” Antony said at his official presentation.

“I’ve only been here a short time, and I love everything about it.

“The people, the city… It’s very important to be at peace with yourself to be able to perform well.”

His popularity extends far beyond the pitch.

Antony has been the top-selling player in terms of club merchandise, with 1,169 shirts bearing his name sold since his arrival.

This puts him ahead of even Isco, who has sold 912 customized jerseys in the same period.

The financial impact has been significant, with estimated sales generating over €110,000 in just 52 days.

Betis’ social media presence has also skyrocketed since Antony’s arrival, with a 157.14% increase in user engagement and video views jumping by 144.16%.

Two of the club’s most-viewed TikTok videos, accumulating over 70 million views combined, feature the former Manchester United winger.

Even Isco, the club’s previous commercial powerhouse, acknowledged Antony’s influence, sharing a photo with the winger and captioning it: “It’s great that you came.”

The Brazilian’s resurgence in Spain raises major questions about his future.

While Antony remains a Manchester United player for now, Betis may look to make his move permanent in the summer.

His transformation in Seville is proving that sometimes, all a player needs is the right environment to thrive.

  • Agent reveals Manchester United have opened talks for African striker

Manchester United’s struggles on the upfront this season have been glaring.

With Alejandro Garnacho failing to find consistency, the team has been left without a reliable threat on the left-wing.

Marcus Rashford’s departure on loan and Antony’s temporary exit have further weakened Ruben Amorim’s attacking options, leaving the team’s wing positions unstable and unproductive.

Rasmus Hojlund’s lack of goal threat has also added to the Red Devil’s concerns up front.

The lack of goals has meant United’s attack has often been predictable, and creativity has been sorely missed, forcing United to seek reinforcements.

According to Africa Foot, Manchester United have reportedly opened talks to sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, who has emerged as one of the most underrated attackers in the Premier League this season.

The Ghanaian international has been in excellent form since joining the Cherries from Bristol City in January 2023, scoring nine goals and adding five assists in 32 appearances across all competitions this season.

His ability to operate across the forward line and add both goals and assists has made him an attractive target for several top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United.

Reports suggest that Manchester United have initiated discussions with Bournemouth, offering €40 million for the 25-year-old winger.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

However, Bournemouth are reportedly holding out for €50 million, a figure that might be negotiable if the Red Devils are keen enough to secure his services.

The competition for Semenyo’s signature is expected to be fierce, with Chelsea and Tottenham also keeping a close eye on the Ghanaian.

Chelsea’s interest is driven by the uncertainty surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk’s future, while Tottenham sees Antoine Semenyo as a potential solution for their own struggles in the wide attacking department, especially with questions lingering over Richarlison’s long-term future at the club.

For Manchester United, Antoine Semenyo presents an exciting option.

His versatility across the forward line and ability to produce attacking contributions make him a valuable asset for Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Reports also suggest that United are prepared to offer Semenyo a five-year contract, signaling their serious intent to bring him to Old Trafford.

If the Red Devils can agree on a deal with Bournemouth, they could have secured a player who would immediately improve their squad and add much-needed depth ahead of the new season.

  • Manchester United accused of excluding disabled fans

Manchester United have been accused of “excluding” their disabled fans, with the disabled supporters association having contacted the club about the issue.

The accusations are centred around issues at Old Trafford, preventing disabled fans from watching games.

Included in these complaints are a “decline in steward standards” with a failure of responding to issues when an emergency assistance cord is pulled in the toilets, with this happening on three occasions.

The Daily Mail has reported the issue, with the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association’s (MUDSA) secretary Rick Clement contacting the club.

Clement puts part of the problem down to United’s decision to use agency staff, with a 15% rise in parking fees hitting disabled supporters who often have no option other than to drive to games using a car or mobility vehicle.

As such a disable discount has been requested by Clement, alongside requesting the exclusion of disabled supporters from the new policy around season ticket holders attending 19 home games instead of the current 16.

Naturally, United have rejected the accusations that he club doesn’t value their disabled fan base and have remined fans of the £40,000 annual funding that has been continued to MUDSA.

A club spokesperson commented: “We take great pride in the facilities and services we provide for all disabled fans who attend matches at Old Trafford, and these have benefited from significant investment in recent years.”

The spokesperson continued: “Our strong commitment in this area is reflected by the fact the Premier League, who audit every match, have verified our operation to be of the highest standard.”

“We regularly engage with the Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association (MUDSA) to discuss how we can continue to deliver the best matchday experience for our fans with disabilities.

“Our commitment in this area is demonstrated by the significant donation the club continues to make each season to enable MUDSA to provide effective assistance and great experiences for their members.”
