  • Serie A giants look to sign key Manchester United midfielder

With a summer overhaul imminent, Manchester United is preparing for a mass exodus of player.

Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News has already reported that no fewer than 10 players are anticipated to leave on permanent deals.

The club’s leadership, under manager Ruben Amorim, is determined to rebuild the squad for the future, and this could lead to major changes in the coming months.

The question remains, who will stay, and who will be sacrificed for the next chapter?

One name that has been increasingly linked with a move away is Kobbie Mainoo.

Inter Milan, looking to strengthen their midfield with young, dynamic talent, have reportedly targeted the 19-year-old Englishman as part of their long-term strategy, as per Calcio Mercato.

Despite a breakout season at Old Trafford, Mainoo’s future has become uncertain, especially as the club undergoes a period of transition.

Kobbie Mainoo, who has impressed since making his first-team debut, is now demanding a more competitive wage to reflect his increased importance to both Manchester United and the England national team.

With two years left on his contract and an option for a third, United may be tempted to sell, especially with the club looking to make room for new arrivals.

Inter’s interest in Kobbie Mainoo fits perfectly into their strategy, with the Nerazzurri under the guidance of Oaktree Capital focusing on developing young, high-potential players.

Mainoo fits that mould and would be a valuable long-term asset for the Italian side.

Although the move is still in its early stages, Inter’s interest signals that Mainoo’s future at United could be in jeopardy.

Adding to the intrigue, Premier League rivals Chelsea have also been linked with the young midfielder, making this transfer saga even more complicated.

Moreover, given Mainoo’s homegrown status, any sale would count as pure profit under the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, making him an even more attractive option for potential suitors.

With multiple clubs interested and his contract situation uncertain, Mainoo’s summer move could be one of the most closely followed stories in the transfer window.

  • Manchester United scouts in attendance to watch England wonderkid

Manchester United’s squad is expected to undergo significant changes in the summer, with reinforcements needed in several areas.

While the club is set to target elite-level experience to strengthen key positions, young talents who fit the long-term vision of INEOS and head coach Ruben Amorim will also be a major focus.

That strategy has already been evident in recent months.

The signings of Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven, and Patrick Dorgu – players recruited for their specific tactical suitability rather than just their raw ability.

Now, one English youngster, in particular, has emerged as a priority target for the club.

Tyler Dibling attracting Manchester United and Europe’s elite

According to Chris Wheeler’s report for the Daily Mail, United scouts were in attendance at Bangor City to watch Tyler Dibling in action for England Under-19s against Wales.

The Southampton winger is set to be one of the most sought-after young players in England this summer.

His departure from St. Mary’s is likely once their relegation to the Championship is confirmed.

Dibling has been a bright spark for the Saints, despite their woes this season.

His performances have drawn significant attention, with 14 Premier League clubs monitoring the talent.

United, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester City are among all clubs making inquiries.

Interest from abroad is also strong, with RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund monitoring his situation closely.

United may have an advantage in the race for Dibling’s signature due to technical director Jason Wilcox.

Wilcox was director of football at Southampton before making the switch to Old Trafford last year.

Wilcox knows Dibling well and could play a crucial role in persuading him to join United.

Especially with Amorim looking to reinforce his wide options this summer.

With Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho all expected to leave, a move for a winger is firmly on the agenda.

Amorim’s former Sporting Lisbon player Francisco Trincao has also been considered as reported on CentreDevils on Monday.

However there is a belief that Dibling could be developed into a right wing-back under the Portuguese coach.

Dibling has already impressed against United

United’s interest in Dibling is not new.

The club’s scouts have tracked him for some time.

His performances against them this season have only strengthened their admiration.

He dominated Diogo Dalot in their match-up at St. Mary’s earlier in the campaign and stood out again when Southampton visited Old Trafford in January, despite the Saints suffering a late collapse.

His talent was also evident last week when England Under-19s claimed a 2-0 victory over Wales.

United striker Ethan Wheatley, currently on loan at Walsall, was among the scorers.

With United in the market for both established stars and exciting young prospects, Dibling’s name could remain firmly on their radar as they prepare for a summer of squad transformation.

  • Manchester United dynamic ticket pricing confirmed

Manchester United are once more playing around with the ticket prices ahead of next year’s Premier League season.

Already this year the club, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, removed concession from their tickets, leading to all tickets costing £66 irrelevant of age.

More recently it was announced that United are increasing their season ticket cost by 5% for a third year in a row.

Admittedly, this is much better than their initial proposal which would have seen an increase of 20%, however this was reduced to 5% after consulting with fans associations.

Another set of reports commented that United would be starting a tiered match tickets system, with the cost of the ticket depending on the opposition.

Now, reports from The Daily Mail have announced how this will work.

The 2025/26 campaign will see home games split across four categories, A, B, C and D, with the price for attending the game increasing for the biggest clubs.

It’s been announced that a full list of games for each price bracket will be released when next season’s fixtures are released in June.

It’s expected that newly promoted clubs will fall into the “D” category, whilst local rivals like Manchester City and Liverpool will be in the top, “A”, bracket.

However, one curveball to the system could be with current Championship leaders, Leeds United. As Manchester United and Leeds enjoy a long-standing and fierce rivalry, this fixture could find itself in a higher tier.

Manchester United are looking to offload several players this summer to both create space in their ranks, as well as generate funds for new signings.

Already its been confirmed that Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are hanging up their boots at the end of the season, whilst Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen’s contracts are set to expire.

Alongside them United will be hoping that their trio of loanees, Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, all find homes elsewhere with Chelsea obligated to buy Sancho, Aston Villa having first dibs on Rashford and Betis considering retaining Antony.

However, another one of Ruben Amorim’s men might be heading back to Europe despite a troublesome season.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana has made some truly questionable mistakes this season which has been one of the key factors to The Red Devils floundering in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The 28-year-old has conceded 53 goals in 40 games, with 40 of the goals coming in the Premier League.

Despite this, Spazio Milan has reported that AC Milan are monitoring Onana’s situation for a potential summer move.

The San Siro side are looking to a future without Mike Maignan, as PSG loom to sign the France international.

As such, Onana has become the favourite to replace him between the sticks, with proven experience for Inter Milan before moving to Old Trafford.

United are already considering moves for a range of other goalkeepers, including impressive Burnley shot-stopper James Trafford, Royal Antwerp star Senne Lammens and Lille’s top goalkeeper Lucas Chevallier.

  • Manchester City want to sign former Manchester United goalkeeper

With the end of the current Premier League season only nine games away, most clubs are now looking ahead to the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

Manchester City are no different, scouting Europe for new talent, looking to bounce back as The Citizens have failed to defend their Premier League title this campaign.

Currently in fifth, City are hoping to secure a slot in the Champions League before the end of the season, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea in the top four.

Looking ahead to the summer to not have a repeat next year, Pep Guardiola’s side are now targeting a former Manchester United goalkeeper, who strangely never played a game for The Red Devils.

Manchester City look to sign Vanja Milinkovic-Savic

Back in 2014, United signed Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, agreeing for the star to remain with his former club, Vojvodina, on loan for another year.

However, at the end of the next season, the goalkeeper failed to obtain a work permit to allow his move to the UK, with The Red Devils having to let him go.

After the disappointing affair, Milinkovic-Savic joined Lechia Gdansk for a year before joining Torino where, after loan spells with SPAL, Ascoli and Standard Liege, he’s now become their first-choice goalkeeper.

This season, the 28-year-old has kept 10 clean sheets in 30 games, with Tuttosport reporting he’s drawing interest from both Manchester City and Napoli.

City are reportedly looking at selling Ederson ahead of his contract expiring in 2026, with the Serbian goalkeeper being high up on the list to replace him.

As such, Milinkovic-Savic may finally get his chance to play at Old Trafford, however this time against The Red Devils.

  • Burnley working with Manchester United legend

Burnley have had an impressive run this year as they hope to rebound from the Championship back to the Premier League a year after being relegated.

The Turf Moor side are currently in third place only two points behind league leaders Leeds with eight games still to go.

The Championship title appears to be a three-horse race at this stage with the pair and Sheffield United sandwiched between the two.

As such, a vital fixture is still yet to be played as Sheffield United head to Burnley in April.

One man key to their success has been goalkeeper James Trafford who holds 26 clean sheets in 37 games this season alone.

With such safety between the sticks, Manchester United have declared interest in the 22-year-old, however this isn’t the only link between Burnley and The Red Devils.

It’s now been reported by The Daily Mail that the Championship side have recruited Manchester United legend Nicky Butt to support them this season.

Speaking at the inaugural Champions for Children Gala Dinner in aid of Foundation 92, Butt commented: “I’m getting around a few games doing a bit of work at Burnley two or three days a week – that’s enjoyable.”

He continued: “It’s just getting back into football. When I left United, I was bitter for a few months and fell out of love with it then I realised I was missing it. I’m doing bits and bobs. Not so much academy no, it’s just fun to get back on the grass.

“I just know I can’t sit on my backside at home. It’s not about the money or getting a job to pay for anything, it’s just getting back in whether it’s working with young kids or older players or whatever it might be.”

  • Ryan Giggs has a new football coaching role

The Manchester United legend has now taken on a more hands-on role at the League Two side.

He has since stepped into a coaching position alongside manager Karl Robinson.

As per Chris Wheeler’s report for the Daily Mail, Giggs began working more closely with the first-team staff in January.

He has regularly joining Robinson on the bench during matches.

His increased involvement came after coach Simon Wiles left to join Manchester United in October.

Therefore leaving Salford short-staffed on the touchline.

Alex Bruce, the club’s assistant manager, was also briefly absent due to personal reasons, prompting Giggs to step in and offer his experience.

Speaking about his role, Giggs explained that it started as a short-term fix but soon became a regular match-day responsibility.

“Karl would literally have been on his own, so I’ve gone on the bench with him and just enjoyed it,” he said.

“We didn’t get another coach in, so when Alex came back, which was the next game, I just carried on.”

The 51-year-old has embraced the opportunity to be back in the thick of match-day emotions, something he admits he had missed.

“It’s good. You miss the emotions, the ups and downs, so I’ve enjoyed that part of it,” he added.

While he remains Salford’s director of football, his presence on the bench has effectively made him the club’s short-term assistant manager.

  • Manchester United swap deal faces potential collapse

Manchester United are currently weighing up options in attack after a poor run this season.

Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to provide consistency in front of goal, with Hojlund going 20-games without a goal contribution.

As such, Ruben Amorim has been reliant on Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo as the club’s top goalscorers this season.

Now, United’s recruitment team are highlighting in-form strikers who could move to Old Trafford this summer, providing more consistency and reliability in the final third.

The Red Devils had begun lining up a swap-deal involving Rasmus Hojlund and Napoli reject Victor Osimhen, hoping to upgrade from the Danish striker.

It’s known that Antonio Conte is a huge fan of Hojlund, and despite Osimhen’s incredible run of form on loan with Galatasaray, the manager has no intention of integrating him into his team in Serie A.

As such, United were looking at a mutually beneficial deal, which now might be on the brink of collapse.

Swap deal for Victor Osimhen to fall through

New reports from Sky Sport Switzerland has reported that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has indicated a swap deal for the star might be off the table.

Whist it’s known that Osimhen will be moving from The Azzurri permanently this summer, a transfer for the star won’t come cheap.

The report explains that De Laurentiis has indicated Osimhen will be sold to the highest bidder, with hopes of sparking a bidding war for the Nigerian striker.

As such it’s hard to believe that the club would entertain a swap-deal for out of form Hojlund when Osimhen has a release clause of £63 million.

United could still offer Hojlund plus a transfer fee in an attempt to lower the cost of the deal, however, with Europe’s elite also monitoring Osimhen, United may have to cough up if they choose to pursue him further.

  • Dan Ashworth to make return

Dan Ashworth is in talks to take on a shock new position following his departure from Manchester United, according to reports.

The 54-year-old officially left his role as United’s sporting director by mutual consent in December.

However, it was widely reported that minority co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe had played a key role in his exit.

United’s latest accounts revealed that the club paid £4.1 million in compensation to bring Ashworth from Newcastle in the summer, covering both his recruitment and severance package after his short tenure.

Since leaving United, Ashworth has been involved in a consultancy role with Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

A voluntary and unpaid position he had first taken up in 2021.

Dan Ashworth set for shock return to FA

Now, The Telegraph reports that he is in discussions over a return to a high-profile role at the FA, where he previously worked before leaving for Brighton in 2018.

Ashworth remains highly regarded within the organisation.

The proposed role would see Ashworth lead the ‘St George’s Park 2.0 project’.

A large-scale redevelopment of England’s national training facility.

His responsibilities would extend across both the men’s and women’s senior and junior teams.

As well as focusing on the development of British coaches.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe reflects on Ashworth and Ten Hag

Ashworth’s departure from United was linked to his involvement in extending Erik ten Hag’s contract and shaping the club’s transfer plans under the Dutchman.

Reflecting on that period, Ratcliffe admitted mistakes were made.

“They were just mistakes,” he told The Telegraph.

“There was quite a lot of debate at that time. [Ten Hag] had just won a Cup final.

“The fans were clearly of the view that we’d like to stick with him, and all that sort of stuff.

“They were both mistakes. I don’t think we can say much more than that.
