  • Manchester United set their sights on Swiss international

Manchester United’s midfield has been a major concern this season, with injuries and inconsistency hindering their campaign.

Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, and Manuel Ugarte have all suffered setbacks, leaving Ruben Amorim with limited options in crucial matches.

Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, once key figures, have struggled to dictate play, while Mainoo’s contract situation has created uncertainty over his future.

With all three players potentially leaving at the end of the season, the club faces a major rebuilding job in the middle of the park.

Reinforcements are inevitable, and the upcoming transfer window presents an opportunity to reshape the squad.

United are expected to bolster their midfield in the summer, and reports from Calcio Mercato suggest they have set their sights on Ardon Jashari.

The Swiss international, who joined Club Brugge from Luzern for £5 million last year, has made a significant impact, catching the attention of top European clubs.

His performances in the Champions League have been particularly impressive, making him a sought-after prospect.

Ardon Jashari is on the radar of several Serie A giants, but United are reportedly ready to go on the offensive to secure his signature.

The 22-year-old has been a standout performer, showcasing his defensive solidity and composure on the ball.

Ardon Jashari boasts an 89 percent pass completion rate in the Belgian Pro League, winning 50 percent of his duels and averaging 4.4 recoveries per game.

His numbers are even better in the Champions League, where he registers 5.9 recoveries per match.

Additionally, he has contributed three goals and six assists across 41 appearances this season.

Club Brugge are expected to demand a fee in the region of £25-£29 million for Ardon Jashari, a figure that United could afford if Casemiro departs.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and the club hopes to receive around £30 million for him.

Given United’s financial constraints and a more cautious transfer approach, Jashari represents a smart investment.

At 22, he has already proved himself in European competition and could develop into a key figure in United’s midfield for years to come.

  • Christian Eriksen and Usain Bolt join forces

Manchester United’s veteran midfielder Christian Eriksen has joined up with former Olympian, Usain Bolt.

Sportskeeda has reported that Bolt, who’s a huge United fan, linked with the Denmark international to attend a Laureus-backed Street League in Manchester.

The Street League is an initiative from Laureus using sport, especially football, alongside education to help underprivileged children and communities.

Both Eriksen and Bolt are regular attendees of the Laureus Awards, with Bolt being the Laureus Sportsman of the Year four times in his career, and Eriksen winning the 2023’s Laureus World Comeback of the Year athlete for his impressive comeback to the football pitch after his cardiac arrest whilst playing for Denmark in 2021.

In a conversation with Laureus, Bolt expressed his happiness that the organisation is executing its initiatives to improve the world through sport.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist also mentioned the confidence and resilience that initiatives like this instill in young and underprivileged kids.

Speaking to the organisations website, Bolt commented: “I’ve heard about the work of Laureus and Nelson Mandela’s vision that ‘sport has the power to change the world’ attending the Laureus Awards over the years, so it was special to see those words in action here in Manchester today.”

He continued: “Laureus supports programmes like Street League to help build confidence and resilience in young people through sport and that’s something I’ve experienced in my own life.”

  • Bruno Fernandes warned he’s ‘sacrificing career’ at Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes has been Manchester United’s most consistent performer this season.

However former Red Devils defender Phil Bardsley believes the captain is “sacrificing his own career” to try and lift the club back to the top.

Fernandes has faced criticism from some pundits, including United legend Roy Keane.

He has been criticised for his body language and visible frustration during games.

However, Bardsley believes the Portugal international’s emotions stem from his relentless desire to win.

Speaking to Boyle Sports as per The Mirror, Bardsley acknowledged Keane’s viewpoint but insisted Fernandes is giving everything for the club.

“Roy Keane is right in the sense that Bruno Fernandes can do more.

“But in any other team he would be winning trophies and he’s probably sacrificing his own career to try and help Manchester United get back to where they want to be,” Bardsley said.

“He is the standout performer week in and week out, you only have to look at his goals and assists.

“I’d be scared to see where United would be without him.

“He doesn’t back out of challenges and his work rate is unmatched.

“But the standards that Roy set as a captain mean he won’t like how Bruno sometimes looks frustrated and throws his arms in the air.

“That’s obviously because he wants to win trophies with United.

“That is his personality and he will be instrumental in United trying to get back up the table.”

Gary Pallister echoes Bardsley’s thoughts on Bruno Fernandes

Gary Pallister recently echoed that sentiment, suggesting Fernandes’ frustration is justified given the team’s struggles.

“I think he must feel frustrated sometimes.

“If he was playing in a better team, we’d really be talking his ability up because he’s that good of a talent,” Pallister said.

“He’s fighting hard to still be the best that he can be in a team that’s really struggling, so he deserves all the plaudits that he gets.”

Fernandes has still managed 16 goals and nine assists this season despite United sitting 13th in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim’s side have endured a turbulent campaign but could still end the season with silverware.

A Europa League quarter-final against Lyon is coming up on the horizon.

  • Eintracht Frankfurt star wanted by Manchester United

Manchester United are current looking to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike to help boost their attack.

The 22-year-old striker has joined United’s shortlist to bring an in-form goal scorer to Old Trafford in the summer.

However he isn’t the only Frankfurt star that United have been interested in this season.

Last summer, The Red Devils were targeting Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos, even going so far to contact the Bundesliga club.

Bild has reported that Santos snubbed United, instead extending his contract with the German club from 2028 to 2030.

The 21-year-old is reportedly being billed as the successor to Alison Becker and Ederson for the Brazil national team.

With both goalkeepers being some of the world’s best, it’s a big statement to his potential being tipped to be the next in line for Brazil.

  • Sir Jim Ratcliffe hit by Donald Trump tariffs

INEOS have come under increasing scrutiny from Manchester United fans over their cost-cutting measures.

Concerns are growing about the financial decisions made under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s leadership.

The last 12 months have seen controversial moves at Old Trafford.

Now another of Ratcliffe’s business ventures is facing significant financial pressure – this time from outside football.

INEOS Automotive has expressed frustration at the European Union’s lack of response to the United States’ decision to impose a 25% tariff on imported vehicles.

They argue that EU inaction has left European automotive brands exposed.

“We are outraged that the tariff situation with the US has been neglected by the EU,” the company said in a statement as per MotoTradeNews.

“President Trump has been very clear on his intention to implement tariffs on the auto industry.

“He has been asking for fairness and reciprocity and yet European leaders have not come to the table to negotiate a better solution.

“The US government has also been clear about the consequences of non-engagement.

“This should be a surprise to no one in the EU, and it could and should have been averted.”

Lynn Calder, chief executive of INEOS Automotive, also hit out at European leaders.

He warned that the tariffs could seriously damage smaller automobile brands.

“This is what happens when politicians sit on their hands,” she said.

“As a growing EU-based automobile brand, we are vulnerable to tariffs.

“We need our politicians to support our business, our jobs and our economies.

“We need urgent and direct political intervention on tariffs.

“We’ll give whatever support we can to our political leaders to keep the playing field even for small, competitive brands such as Grenadier.

“But we must see action from EU politicians: only they are in a position to address the issue.

“Fortunately, we have been planning for tariffs but there is only so much we can do to protect US customers from price rises.”

The impact of INEOS’ financial struggles in other sectors could add to United fans’ concerns about how the club’s budget is being managed.

Supporters have already voiced their frustration over investment decisions.

Ratcliffe’s ability to navigate these challenges will continue to be under scrutiny both in football and beyond.

Manchester United have been continuously looking at young midfield target Tyler Dibling who’s been showing off his potential for Southampton.

Not only a vital play for his club, Dibling has also been called up to the England Under-17s, with United scouts recently in attendance for their 2-0 win over Wales.

The Red Devils are keen to sign the star in the summer as a move is almost guaranteed from The Saints given their imminent relegation.

United face opposition for the star from their Premier League rivals and Europe’s elite.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Southampton are wanting £100 million for the star.

The incredibly high valuation reflects their belief that Dibling is the best in the world for future potential in centre midfield.

This is a breaking story with more to follow.

  • Ajax player advised against Manchester United move by Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag’s time at Manchester United was heavily influenced by his connections to Dutch football.

The former boss frequently targeted players from the Eredivisie or those with Ajax links.

During his tenure, Ten Hag signed former Ajax stars Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Antony, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.

He also brought in Netherlands internationals Tyrell Malacia and Joshua Zirkzee.

While also regularly being linked with Frenkie de Jong.

However, one player who was encouraged to stay put was Ajax youngster Van Axel Dongen.

Van Axel Dongen reveals conversation with Erik ten Hag

The youngster has now revealed that Ten Hag personally called him to discuss his future.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport as per VoetbalZone, Van Axel Dongen recalled: “That was the manager who had brought me to the first team.

“Of course, he heard about the situation. He called me, and I was in the cinema.

“I suddenly see a missed call from Ten Hag. I think: why is he calling me?

“Then we spoke, and I explained the situation to him.”

Despite expressing interest in bringing the winger to Old Trafford, Ten Hag ultimately advised him to remain in Amsterdam.

“He told me honestly, and I appreciate that from him, ‘I worked with you, but I advise you to stay at Ajax. That’s where you can develop yourself best.’

“He said: ‘If you leave, I want you to come to me.’ That’s what he said.

    “Those were his own words.”

The handling of players from Erik ten Hag has been a major talking point since his dismissal in October.

The Dutchman recently criticised modern footballers for struggling to deal with criticism.

In his first interview since being sacked, he took aim at the current generation of players.

He said: “This generation usually find it difficult to deal with criticism.

    “Criticism really gets to them.

“The generation that I grew up in had much thicker skin. You could be much more direct.

“I was approached much more directly.

“If I would do that with my current group of players, I would demotivate them.

“If you do that to the current generation, they find it offensive.”

  • Aston Villa stance on buying Marcus Rashford revealed

Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United has been a rollercoaster ride, full of ups and downs.

Once touted as one of the brightest talents in English football, his struggles at Old Trafford became more evident as he failed to maintain consistent form under Erik ten Hag last season and continued that form into the Ruben Amorim era.

His troubles included injuries, a lack of regular game time, and his inability to replicate his previous seasons of brilliance.

This led to frustration both for him and United fans, who witnessed a decline in the player many hoped would become a mainstay in the club’s attack.

However, Rashford’s fortunes seem to have changed since joining Aston Villa on loan.

Marcus Rashford appears to have found a new lease of life under Unai Emery, even though he hasn’t yet found the back of the net for Villa.

Despite this, Marcus Rashford has contributed with a few assists, and his involvement has been pivotal in Villa’s journey to the quarter-finals of both the Champions League and the FA Cup.

His performances have also been crucial in Villa’s pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Additionally, his improved form at Villa earned him a call-up to the England squad under new manager Thomas Tuchel, a sign that he’s beginning to regain the trust of both club and country.

These positive strides have brought renewed hope for his future, and Villa is reportedly pleased with his progress.

However, the club has a big decision to make come summer: they hold an option to make the move permanent for £40 million.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Aston Villa will wait until the end of the season to make a final decision regarding the option to sign Rashford permanently.

Villa will assess the player’s contribution over the remaining months, including whether they can meet the financial demands in light of their Financial Fair Play regulations.

Romano confirmed that while Villa is happy with Rashford’s impact so far, they won’t rush into making a decision, with the final call likely coming after the season concludes.

This summer could determine whether Marcus Rashford’s future lies at Villa Park or back at Old Trafford.

  • New Ayden Heaven injury update revealed

Manchester United’s recent acquisition, Ayden Heaven, has quickly become a focal point in discussions about the club’s defensive lineup.

The 18-year-old centre-back, who transferred from Arsenal in February 2025, has shown significant promise in his initial appearances under manager Ruben Amorim’s system.

Ayden Heaven had a promising start at United after joining from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

His recent performances, particularly in the Europa League and the Premier League, made it seem as though Heaven could be an essential part of Ruben Amorim’s defense moving forward.

But an injury during the Leicester City match has thrown his future into question.

Heaven, who had replaced Leny Yoro in the starting lineup, was forced off on a stretcher during the Leicester clash, his first Premier League start for the Red Devils.

Fans feared the worst, and the sight of the young defender limping off the pitch in a protective boot made many think his season was over.

However, hope was restored during the international break when it was reported that Heaven’s injury might not be as bad as first feared.

Rumors began circulating that he would be back in training in time for United’s next match against Nottingham Forest.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

Yet, the latest updates suggest otherwise.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting that Heaven was recovering and expected to return to training, he was spotted arriving at Carrington with his foot still in a protective boot, as revealed by UtdReport on their official X account.

This news has dampened expectations, and United fans are left wondering when the promising centre-back will be able to return to action.

While Heaven’s injury continues to raise questions, his early impact on the pitch cannot be ignored.

In the Europa League clash with Real Sociedad, Heaven impressed fans and critics alike with his defensive abilities.

Before his injury, he had also shown great promise against Leicester City, making him a key figure in United’s defense.

With Lisandro Martinez out for the season with an ACL injury and Harry Maguire sidelined due to a hamstring issue, United is feeling the pressure in defense.

Additionally, the situation with Victor Lindelof’s contract expiring at the end of the season and the potential retirement of Jonny Evans further highlights the need for Heaven to return quickly.

Ruben Amorim’s three-center-back system is in dire need of reinforcements, and Ayden Heaven could be the key player that helps shore up the defense.

As of now, United fans are eagerly awaiting news on Heaven’s recovery, hoping that the young star can bounce back quickly from this injury setback.

His resilience and early performances give fans hope that he will play a vital role in the team’s push for higher league standings in the second half of the season.
