Manchester United U18s have beaten Leeds United 13-1, with impressive youngster Victor Musa scoring six goals in the first half.

Jim Thwaites also scored three, with 14-year-old JJ Gabriel coming off the bench to bag a brace on his debut and cap off a star-studded display.

Musa kicked off the scoring in the 2nd minute by converting a penalty, and added to the scoring with two quick-fire goals to complete his hattrick within 14 minutes.

He would add his fourth and fifth within ten minutes, before Thwaites scored his team’s sixth with a brilliantly-taken free kick.

And the 17-year-old would complete a hattrick of his own before half time, converting to complete a trio of assists for Amir Ibragimov.

Musa would get his sixth and his team’s ninth just before the whistle.

There would be no let-up following the break, with James Bailey adding a tenth six minutes into the second half with a superb finish.

Leeds would get a goal back in the 54th minute through Kenneth Mensah but it would weigh no bearing on the score-line.

Dan Armer would hit straight back to score United’s 11th, heading in from Jack Fletcher’s corner.

Teenager JJ Gabriel would make his debut in the second half, and marked it with an immediate goal in the 88th minute, finishing well after being played through.

He would then add a second and United’s 13th, completing a dream afternoon in the sun for him and his teammates.

The strong performance will have come as a great sight to first-team manager Ruben Amorim, who will be looking closely at a number of the stand-out performers for debuts in the near-future.

  • Manchester City missing 5 stars for Manchester United derby

Manchester City could be without up to five key players for Sunday’s Manchester derby meeting with Manchester United.

Sunday’s match at Old Trafford will see both teams missing players, with the points needed more by the visitors.

Manchester City currently sit in fifth after Chelsea’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, and could drop to sixth should Newcastle win on Monday.

Manchester United have little to play for in the Premier League, but will hope to win the derby to complete the double over their noisy neighbours.

United have been plagued by injury issues this season, and will continue to be without a number of players.

Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Amad Diallo are expected to be unavailable for the clash, while Matthijs de Ligt could also be missing after appearing to turn his ankle against Nottingham Forest.

Ruben Amorim’s team could be boosted by the return of midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, however, who is returning to full training this week.

Manchester City could be without five players on the day, though, in a boost to United’s chances.

Balon D’or winner Rodri is still unavailable after rupturing his ACL earlier in the season, and Nathan Ake remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

And the defensive problems continue for Pep Guardiola, with John Stones and Manuel Akanji also ruled out.

Star striker Erling Haaland will also miss the game, after suffering an injury against Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

Victory for Manchester United would mark the first time they have completed the double over their city rivals since the 2019/20 season.

The win at the Etihad in December is a highlight of Amorim’s time at the club so far, with Amad Diallo’s stoppage time winner providing a special moment for the away fans in attendance.

  • Manchester United and Arsenal interested in Argentinian wonderkid

Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly both registered their interest in a talented Argentinian winger.

Argentina has been a reliable source of talent for Premier League clubs for many years.

Most notable in recent years, was Manchester City’s signing of Julian Alvarez from River Plate.

Manchester United’s bitter rivals signed the striker in the summer of 2022, for a fee in the region of £14m.

And in his second season at the Etihad, the Argentine registered an impressive 19 goals and 13 assists in a season in which City won the Premier League.

That season led to the sale of Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for a massive fee of £81m, and the 25-year-old has continued to impress in Madrid.

The race is now on to find the next Alvarez, and Manchester United have reportedly identified another impressive young player from River Plate.

According to Sebastian Srur, the Red Devils, as well as Arsenal, are very interested in the signing of 18-year-old Ian Subiabre.

Speaking on X (formerly known as Twitter), he said: “From the information I have, and barring any last-minute unforeseen events, he’s set to start tomorrow in Junín.

“And I’ll also tell you that Arsenal and Manchester United are very interested in the kid from Comodoro. The interest is strong.”

Subiabre is a left-footed winger who plays for Argentina’s U20s team, and has featured for River Plate’s first team in recent months.

In his most recent appearance, the youngster scored his first goal for River Plate, against Rosario Central.

A natural winger, Subiabre has also been deployed in the centre-forward position and could bolster Ruben Amorim’s options across the attacking line.

  • Everton enter race for Manchester United striker target

It’s common knowledge that Manchester United are in the market for a striker this summer, looking to upgrade from the current options of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

The pair have scored a combined 14 goals and seven assists in 85 games, with six of the goals coming against teams either in the relegation zone or lower-ranked teams in Europe like Bodo/Glimt and Viktoria Plzen.

As such, a consistent striker is needed who can deliver against top teams, with prolific goalscorers like Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David being linked to the club.

However, a new target rising quickly up United’s shortlist is Udinese star Lorenzo Lucca.

The Italian striker has been in fine form scoring 12 goals and grabbing two assists in 32 games.

However United aren’t the only Premier League side interested in the striker, with Everton entering the race.

Give Me Sport has reported that The Toffees are keen to make Lucca their first signing for the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Despite firm interest from Everton, United are continuing to monitor the 6ft 7in attacker ahead of Ruben Amorim’s first full season in charge.

It’s already been revealed that Udinese are open to selling their frontman for only £25 million, with the price tag being within reach for both Everton and United.

However, United still have some reservations about signing the striker, leading to Everton having a slight edge in the race at this time.

Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro being examples – as the Red Devils aim to build a squad capable of competing for years to come.

While young talent is the focus, United will need to be aware of balancing squad balance.

Having a healthy blend of youth and experience remains a critical part of building a competitive side under Ruben Amorim.

Now, United are looking at another emerging star to potentially bolster the defence this summer.

Manchester United among Premier League clubs to watch Pietro Comuzzo

With the summer rebuild already underway behind the scenes, United in Focus understands through Graeme Bailey that Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo is on United’s radar.

The 20-year-old centre-back has impressed in Serie A and caught the eye of numerous Premier League clubs.

Sources as per United in Focus, confirm he has been watched by several top-flight sides including United.

Comuzzo has enjoyed a breakout campaign in Italy.

However, the price tag could be a stumbling block.

The defender is seen as highly rated by Fiorentina, and interest from clubs like Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan could drive the cost up.

Despite the challenge, there is an expectation in Italy that Comuzzo will leave this summer.

Although, Serie A is seen as a more likely destination than England.

Still, with INEOS committed to scouting top-tier young talent, Comuzzo remains one of the new names that United will aim to bring into the club.

  • Who is Amir Ibragimov? – centredevils

Manchester United have once more rewarded one of their impressive youth talents with their first professional contract as Amir Ibragimov commits his future to The Red Devils.

United fans are become more and more used to seeing products of the academy breaking through into the senior squad, with Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho establishing themselves last season, earning Golden Boy nominations.

This year, Toby Collyer and Harry Amass are the notable pair trying to breakthrough, routinely sitting on the bench under Ruben Amorim.

However, with Amir Ibragimov signing his first contract, it’s expected what his name will be one that fans get much more used to in the coming seasons, but who is the 17-year-old wonderkid?

Amir Ibragimov and his journey though Manchester United’s academy

Amir Ibragimov was born in Dagestan, Russia in April 2008 before moving to England with his family in 2019 at the age of eleven. It didn’t take long for Ibragimov to impress on the pitch, joining Sheffield United’s youth side, drawing interest from Manchester United.

United instantly acknowledged not just Ibragimov’s versatility, but also his leadership skills, being given the captains armband for both the Under-14s and Under-15s sides.

Back in March 2022 we got an initial glimpse of the youngster’s sportsmanship and spirit, after winning a penalty against Tottenham. Despite stepping up to take the spot kick, Ibragimov disagreed with the penalty decision, so pass the ball to the Spurs goalkeeper, effectively cancelling out the penalty.

Although the winger’s potential has been known, this season the youngster has been showing why there’s so much hype around him.

Across the 25 Under-18s Premier League matches he’s played, Ibragimov has grabbed seven goals and four assists, playing across both wings, in attacking midfield and in central midfield.

In September 2024, Ibragimov completely turned the tide of United’s Under-17 match with Liverpool, scoring his first hattrick to support the club’s comeback from 2-0 down to winning 5-2.

Back in November 2024 the youngster put in a truly impressive showing against Leeds United, grabbing his another  hattrick as The Red Devils won 8-0.

Ibragimov as a rising star for club and country

With his versatility and the club describing him as “a creative attacking force”, it’s no surprise that Ibragimov has also stepped up to take part in first-team training sessions when the senior side have been low on numbers.

Now, with Ibragimov turning 17 this week, the talented teenager has been able to sign his first professional contract after agreeing a pre-scholarship with United in 2022, guaranteeing him a contract when he comes of age.

However it’s not jut United who has been impressed with the youngster, as the Russian born midfielder has been called up to England’s youth sides.

Ibragimov is eligible to play for The Three Lions due to living in England since the age of eleven, and has represented the Under-15s and Under-16s sides, scoring the winning goal in the Under-16s 2-1 victory over Italy after coming off the bench in the last 20 minutes of the game.

    What’s next for Amir Ibragimov?

Whilst signing his first professional contract is a massive step for the youngster, we likely won’t see the attacker for some time yet.

Having just turned 17 years old, Ibragimov has time on his side with a whle year left in the Under-18s side.

As such, having already captained two previous sides, Ibragimov is likely to take on the captain’s armband again over the coming season, gathering call ups to the senior team’s training sessions to build his further experience.

It’s unknown as of yet if United will consider a loan move for the youngster over the summer, or if they’ll look to retain him due to his adaptability to feature in the pre-season tour of the USA and to cover injuries next season.

One things for sure though, Ibragimov certainly has an exciting career ahead of him at Old Trafford.

Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro being examples – as the Red Devils aim to build a squad capable of competing for years to come.

Striking the right balance between youth and experience will be key, as United prepare for a summer of high turnover.

CentreDevils earlier reported of United’s interest in Serie A defender, Pietro Comuzzo.

The focus on centre-backs doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise, considering Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are expected to depart in the summer.

Now, yet another centre-back is on the club’s radar.

Yes, you guessed it – another young prospect too who is catching the eye of potential suitors.

Jason Wilcox looking into Juanma Herzog as potential addition

That player is Las Palmas centre-back Juanma Herzog, who has had a breakout season in La Liga.

Sources have confirmed to United in Focus via Graeme Bailey, that United like Herzog and have monitored his progress closely.

Jason Wilcox is looking at several young defenders, with Juan Gimenez also being of major interest.

Although he’s not a household name yet, Herzog is being viewed as a ‘one for the future’ at Old Trafford.

His current contract is set to expire in June, though Las Palmas do hold a two-year option which they are expected to trigger.

Even so, the potential availability of a player of Herzog’s calibre has caught the attention of United’s recruitment team, who are eager to pounce on any opportunity to strengthen the squad’s long-term foundations.

As Wilcox continues his audit of young defensive talent, Herzog is now on the list of options under consideration.

  • Bruno Fernandes set to break Premier League history after POTM win

Bruno Fernandes is having a sensational season, with his recent form proving to be season-saving for Manchester United.

Fans have been dreading the thought of what United would look like without him, and this season has shown exactly why.

The ‘Portuguese Magnifico’ has been in phenomenal individual form, even while the team around him has struggled to adapt to Ruben Amorim’s system.

Fernandes is United’s top scorer this season, currently sitting on 16 goals and 16 assists across all competitions.

He has almost single-handedly led the team to the Europa League quarter-finals.

The 30-year-old has helped steer them away from what could have become a relegation scrap.

Fernandes has also helped the team in a leadership role off-the-pitch, organising team bonding sessions.

Despite interest from Real Madrid, Amorim has dismissed any talk of a move, firmly backing his captain to lead United forward.

Bruno Fernandes awarded Premier League Player of the Month award

March saw a noticeable improvement in United’s form, with Fernandes at the heart of everything good the team produced.

Manuel Ugarte described him as ‘absolute quality’, and now he has been rewarded with the Premier League Player of the Month award for March.

The league’s official X account confirmed the honour on Friday.

This came following Fernandes’ four goal contributions in just two Premier League games.

Fernandes now moves onto five Player of the Month awards, equaling Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (6), Steven Gerrard (6), Harry Kane (7), Sergio Aguero (7), and Mohamed Salah (7) have more in Premier League history.

With 112 goal contributions in 188 league games, Fernandes is proving himself to be a true Premier League all-time great.

He is now just two awards away from cementing his status as an undeniable Manchester United legend.

  • Brandon Williams insists Manchester United should have kept former manager

Brandon Williams has finally broken his silence on Manchester United’s decision to sack a former manager.

The Englishman labelled it a mistake that disrupted the club’s momentum.

Williams is currently undergoing a legal battle, facing a potential prison sentence.

The 24-year-old, who came through United’s academy, was handed his senior debut in 2019 and went on to make 51 appearances before being released last summer.

Despite loan spells at Norwich and Ipswich, Williams never fully broke into the first-team picture.

He has since taken a break from professional football.

It recently emerged that club legend Patrice Evra was the one who first recommended Williams to the manager who gave him his debut.

Though his time at the club came to an end alongside fellow departees Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial, Williams has stayed vocal in his support for those who helped shape his career.

In an emotional interview on Ben Foster’s Fozcast, the full-back launched a passionate defence of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who handed him his big break.

Brandon Williams against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacking

“For me, he’s probably the best I’ve worked under,” Williams said.

“Even off the pitch, speaking to you, giving you advice, especially because I was young as well – he was like a really good mentor.”

“I don’t think he [Ole] should have ever got sacked, to be honest.

“I think he was going in the right direction.

“He knew the club, he knew what it was about, he knew the DNA of the club.

“That’s what’s been driven into me since I was a young kid… the United way.

“I felt like he brought that.”

Solskjaer recently returned to football management, taking over at Besiktas in January.

He has since turned around their season in just a few short months.

Ruben Amorim is now the man in the hot seat, with the task of bringing those same principles and stability back to Old Trafford.

  • Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho set to move

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho is looking set to move with a huge update for his long-term plans at Old Trafford.

The youngster is a product of the United academy, making him a strong candidate to be sold as pure profit under Profit and Sustainability Rules to ease the club’s financial pressures.

However, United want to retain their star given his ability, gaining a Golden Boy nomination last year and being one of the club’s top goal scorers this season.

That said, the winger isn’t naturally fitting into Ruben Amorim’s system, having to move more central as an attacking midfielder to feature in the squad.

As such the Argentina international could be looking for a move away to retain his role as a winger, with several club looking to the star this summer.

Napoli were determined to sign the winger over the January transfer window, seeing Garnacho as a replacement to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who joined PSG.

Now, the man himself has dropped a massive hint that his future lies away from Old Trafford as The Sun report he’s selling his house.

Alejandro Garnacho secretly tries to sell his £3.85 million mansion

Garnacho has secretly put his £3.85 million mansion up for sale after buying it for £3.8 million in April 2024.

The mansion is a seven-bedroom property situated in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, only 10 miles from United’s training ground, Carrington.

The winger’s decision to list his home only 12 months after buying it is certainly an interesting move, especially only a few months before the summer transfer window opens.

Even more interestingly, the move appears to have been attempted to be completed secretly, with the agent posting just one picture online explaining that the home is “exclusively and discreetly marketed”.

With the limited mark up, quick turn around and stealthy attempts seen with this listing, it’s certainly not reassuring fans that Garnacho will be starting next season at Old Trafford.
