  • Manchester United duo set to stay at Old Trafford

The summer transfer window promises to be a turning point for Manchester United, with a complete overhaul on the horizon.

The club’s financial situation makes it clear that significant sales will need to happen for a blockbuster window to be possible.

While players like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have been at the heart of transfer rumors, there are a few more surprising developments on the horizon.

One of the most unexpected twists in the transfer saga involves two well-known figures at the club.

Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans to remain at Old Trafford

Despite their contracts expiring in the summer, both Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans are set to remain at Old Trafford in an entirely new capacity.

This news comes as part of a broader plan to trim £21 million per year from the wage bill, a move that will help United make way for fresh talent in the transfer window.

Reports from The Daily Mail indicate that Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans, both aged 38 and 37 respectively, are exploring roles within the coaching staff.

With their footballing careers nearing their end, the duo’s value to the club has always gone beyond just their on-pitch contributions.

Evans, who had attracted transfer interest in the past, has long expressed that United would be his final club.

He even mentioned last summer that he would have retired had United not extended his contract.

Despite having limited playing time, both players have proven invaluable to the dressing room environment.

Evans became an unlikely asset to Erik ten Hag’s side, stepping up when called upon last season and exceeding all expectations.

Meanwhile, Heaton’s role behind the scenes has been equally crucial, with his influence on the squad regularly highlighted by those within the club.

While United’s new direction under Ineos has raised questions about the club’s handling of its senior figures, keeping Heaton and Evans in a coaching capacity is a decision that makes sense for all involved.

As they transition into the next phase of their careers, their wealth of experience and leadership will undoubtedly benefit the team.

  • New Kobbie Mainoo injury update provided

Ruben Amorim’s first season in charge of Manchester United continues to be a rollercoaster of uncertainty, injuries, and desperate hope for redemption.

The Red Devils are enduring one of their worst Premier League campaigns in recent memory, and with Champions League qualification via the league slipping away, the pressure is on to deliver in Europe.

A dismal goalless draw with Manchester City at the weekend only added to the growing unrest among supporters, who are still waiting to see Amorim’s attacking philosophy take hold.

Injuries haven’t helped, with several key stars ruled out and others struggling for form as United limp into the final stretch of the season.

All eyes are now on Thursday night’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Lyon — a game that could define United’s season.

But there was finally a glimmer of good news at Carrington on Wednesday morning: Kobbie Mainoo returned to full training, just days ahead of the European clash, as Steven Railston reported on X.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been sidelined for two months, last featuring in the 3–1 win over Leicester City on February 7.

His absence has been sorely felt in a midfield short on energy and creativity, but now there’s hope he could make the bench in France.

Mainoo’s comeback is a much-needed boost for Amorim, who’s looking to inject freshness and balance into a struggling squad.

However, not everything went United’s way in their final training session before the trip to Lyon.

Matthijs de Ligt, who missed the Manchester derby after sustaining an injury against Nottingham Forest, was not spotted and is unlikely to travel with the team.

Meanwhile, Ayden Heaven and Toby Collyer also missed training, leaving Amorim with limited options.

Heaven remains out with an injury sustained in the Leicester game, while Collyer is now a fresh concern after missing the City clash with a knock.

In contrast, youth prospects Jaydan Kamason and Jack Moorhouse both trained with the senior squad — and while Chido Obi continues to impress, he’s not registered for the Europa League.

As the squad prepares to fly out to France, Amorim will be praying that Kobbie Mainoo is fit enough to feature — and to perhaps rescue United’s fading hopes of silverware and salvation.

  • Chelsea’s stance on Jadon Sancho revealed

Jadon Sancho’s tenure at Manchester United was always filled with high hopes, especially considering his sensational rise in Germany with Borussia Dortmund.

However, upon his arrival in the Premier League, things quickly became complicated.

Despite glimpses of brilliance early on, Jadon Sancho struggled to find consistency in the red of Manchester United.

His form continued to dip under then manager Erik ten Hag, leading to growing frustration from both the player and fans alike.

Sancho’s difficulties at Old Trafford resulted in a summer move to Chelsea on loan, with an obligation to buy him for £25 million if certain conditions were met.

However, since his move to Stamford Bridge, the story has hardly improved for the talented winger.

At Chelsea, Sancho started with some promise but quickly fell into a rut.

His form in 2025 has been notably underwhelming, with few contributions to the team’s attacking play.

Despite being given regular opportunities, Sancho has gone 15 consecutive games without scoring or assisting.

This glaring lack of output has contributed to growing doubts among the Chelsea hierarchy about his long-term future at the club.

The Blues had hoped the change in environment would help revive Sancho’s career, but so far, it seems to have done little to address his struggles.

Chelsea’s issues with Sancho are compounded by their ongoing search for additional wide players, with both Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk underperforming this season.

The club is now reportedly planning for the future without these two, recognizing that both players have failed to meet the expectations that were set for them.

The situation has now reached a tipping point, with Chelsea’s management making a significant decision regarding their agreement with Manchester United.

Chelsea willing to pay cancellation fee for Jadon Sancho

According to The Sun, Chelsea have decided to pay Manchester United £5 million to cancel their agreement to sign Sancho outright at the end of the season.

This move would allow Chelsea to back out of the £25 million obligation that was part of the loan deal.

Chelsea’s decision to pay this sum reflects their growing frustration with Sancho’s lack of impact, as well as their desire to reassess their options for next season.

It remains to be seen whether Sancho will have any future at Stamford Bridge or if Chelsea will seek to offload him immediately, with reports suggesting that clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Italian sides, and even Wolverhampton Wanderers are keeping tabs on his situation.

Despite conflicting reports, one thing is clear: Sancho’s time in London is coming to an end, and the financial settlement with Manchester United is just the beginning of a potential new chapter for the winger.

  • Victor Osimhen preferred move revealed

Manchester United are gearing up for what is expected to be a busy transfer window under the guidance of Ruben Amorim and the Ineos regime.

After another inconsistent campaign, the Red Devils have shown clear intent to rebuild with purpose, identifying key areas needing immediate reinforcement.

A new striker remains high on the club’s agenda, especially as the pressure mounts on Rasmus Hojlund, who has yet to establish himself as a consistent threat in front of goal.

While several emerging talents have been monitored, United appear to be leaning toward a more experienced and proven option to lead their attack next season.

The hunt for a ready-made goal scorer is officially underway, and all eyes are turning to Serie A, where a powerhouse forward could soon be on the move.

Victor Osimhen eyes Premier League move

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing Victor Osimhen as they seek to revolutionise their attacking department and bring world-class quality back to the front line.

The Napoli forward is believed to be at the top of the shortlist as Amorim and Jason Wilcox look to reshape the squad with immediate-impact players, particularly up top where goals have been scarce.

ESPN reports that the Nigerian striker is open to a move to the Premier League and Juventus and has long admired the English game, potentially giving United the edge over competitors.

Victor Osimhen is expected to return from his loan spell at Galatasaray where he’s posted an extraordinary tally of 28 goals in 32 appearances, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s elite marksmen.

Although Galatasaray are unable to make the move permanent, Napoli are preparing to cash in on the striker this summer, with a reported asking price of €65 million.

United face strong competition from Chelsea and Arsenal, both of whom are also actively seeking a new striker, but Amorim’s presence and the potential to lead the line at Old Trafford could be major drawcards.

One obstacle that remains is Osimhen’s wage demand, reportedly around £180,000 per week, which would need to be balanced against Ineos’ desire to reduce the club’s bloated wage bill.

Deliberations continue behind the scenes as United also weigh up alternatives, including Delap and Gyokeres, but Victor Osimhen remains the marquee option—one capable of transforming their fortunes overnight.

Whether or not they can strike a deal, Manchester United are clearly serious about finding the right forward this summer—and they may be ready to go big to do it.

  • Brentford manager opens door to signing Manchester United midfielder

A major clear-out is expected under Ruben Amorim, who has already begun evaluating the futures of several first-team regulars.

With Financial Fair Play and the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules looming large, the club is expected to move on a number of players, including some with expiring contracts.

United have just eight games left in all competitions this season, and while the focus remains on finishing strong, key transfer decisions are already being made behind the scenes.

One such decision involves a player whose time at Old Trafford appears to be drawing to a quiet close.

Christian Eriksen, who joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 after a short stint with Brentford, is edging closer to a return to his former club.

The Danish playmaker formed an important midfield trio with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro during his debut campaign, but has since fallen down the pecking order.

With his contract expiring in June, Christian Eriksen has already confirmed that he has not been offered an extension and is preparing for the next chapter of his career.

Speaking to Danish outlet TV2 Sport, Eriksen said: “I haven’t been told anything [about a United extension] and since I haven’t, I assume the collaboration will end.”

He added: “That’s how I interpret it.

“Everyone knows my contract is expiring, so I expect there’s only one way this will go.”

Brentford manager Thomas Frank, who brought Eriksen to the Bees after his recovery from cardiac arrest in 2021, has now openly welcomed the possibility of a reunion.

“Christian is a fantastic player, probably the best Danish player in recent times,” said Frank.

“There is no doubt that Christian wants to play some more.

“He had a fantastic time when he was with us… Nothing is closed.”

When asked directly about talks with Eriksen’s camp, Frank replied: “It’s clear that I can’t be that specific one way or the other.

“But let me put it this way: Nothing is closed.”

Manchester United are set to face Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals this Thursday, but for Eriksen, the spotlight may soon shift from European ambitions to a familiar Premier League return.

  • Jack Moorhouse Manchester United debut details revealed

Jack Moorhouse’s name continues to rise within the Manchester United ranks.

His latest performance only adds to the growing buzz surrounding him.

The 19-year-old midfielder starred in a 3-3 draw for United’s Under-21s against Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

He was catching the eye with a display full of energy and maturity.

It was Moorhouse who stood out in the centre of the park, despite Chido Obi and Bendito Mantato’s performances.

His ability to burst through midfield lines and carry the ball with authority is unmatched by most of his academy teammates.

Therefore, it doesn’t come as much surprise to why he’s held in such high regard internally.

United boss Ruben Amorim is understood to have first taken notice of Moorhouse back in December.

Reportedly after an impressive showing against Southampton at Carrington.

That performance appears to have kickstarted a wave of attention.

Belief is growing behind the scenes that Moorhouse could play a role with the first team sooner rather than later.

He was named on the bench for United’s clashes with Tottenham and Arsenal earlier this season.

Although he didn’t get onto the pitch on either occasion.

Jack Moorhouse set to feature before end of season

Now, per Chris Wheeler’s Daily Mail report, there is increasing confidence that Moorhouse will make his senior Manchester United debut before the end of the current campaign.

Club sources also view him as a leading contender to travel with the first-team squad on both the post-season tours.

The squad will be travelling to Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.

As well as the upcoming pre-season tour in the United States.

These opportunities would provide Moorhouse the platform to prove himself directly to Amorim.

The door is seemingly wide open for the teenager to make a major leap in his career.

  • French press hit back at Andre Onana

Manchester United are preparing themselves for their next Europa League clash as they travel to Lyon on Thursday night.

However, they may have just roused the Lyon troops with comment’s from United goalkeeper Andre Onana getting significant consistent feedback across the channel.

With some of his questionable on field decisions leading directly to conceding goals, the United staff have grown concerned with how problematic he is.

One perfect example of this was against Ipswich where significantly poor positioning and no communication with Patrick Dorgu led to an easy tap-in for Jaden Philogene.

Now, following United’s goalless draw with Manchester City, keeping them in 13th place in the Premier League, Onana commented about his belief that United are better than Lyon.

The Cameroon international commented: “I think we’re better than them, we just have to go there and show who we are.

“If we go there with a winning mentality, if we’re focused, if we stay compact and united and if we follow the game plan, we’ll win the match.”

However, this appears to have only united the French press, with Olympique-et-Lyonnnais.com writing: “If Paulo Fonseca’s men still lacked a little motivation, Andre Onana served them on a plate.”

This was backed up by Made In Foot commenting: “Statements that could well become a motivational force for Fonseca’s men, determined to prove the Manchester goalkeeper wrong.”

However the strongest reaction came from SoFoot, who went a little harder at The Red Devils, commenting: “Stuck in a dismal thirteenth place in the Premier League, Manchester United would do well to turn their goalkeeper’s words into action”

When comparing the clubs in their respective leagues, there really is no comparison with Lyon sitting in fifth place, eight slots higher than when United sit in the Premier League.

That said, this could give Ruben Amorim’s men an advantage, with Lyon potentially underestimating United’s potential given their recent form.

  • Fabrizio Romano gives update on David De Gea return to Manchester United

Over the last few days it’s emerged that Manchester United could be looking to reunite with former keeper David De Gea.

The Red Devils are concerned with current first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana, with the Cameroon international becoming significantly problematic.

Onana’s made some questionable decisions on the pitch throughout the season, resulting in goals being conceded.

With Onana being de Gea’s replacement as Erik ten Hag decided to let the former Spain international’s contract run out, many have wondered if United backed the wrong horse.

Now, the club are looking to rectify the situation with de Gea having an impressive first season back in football with Fiorentina, showing why he won United’s Player of the Season award four times.

United were looking to capitalise on the 34-year-old’s contract ending in the summer, hoping to line up a free transfer.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now blown these hopes out of the water.

Manchester United miss out on signing David de Gea

The journalist has reported that Fiorentina are looking to trigger an extension on his contract, seeing it run to summer 2026.

Having had a year out of football after leaving United, Fiorentina played it safe with de Gea, only signing a year-long contract to see how he fared throughout the season.

However, the Serie A side built in a 12-month extension in the hope that de Gea would come good and they could rely on the shot-stopper for another season.

  • Who is JJ Gabriel? – centredevils

Manchester United’s youth academy is once more attracting attention with one of their hottest prospects getting his Under-18s debut, JJ Gabriel.

The 14-year-old is the youngest person ever to play for the Under-18s side, showing off the potential he holds, with the youngster still a few years off being able to sign a professional contract.

But who is the talented striker already labelled “Kid Messi” and why all the hype?

Despite being only 14 years old, with his birthday in October, Gabriel is already making the world sit up and take note.

His impressive footwork and attacking flair have already drawn comparisons with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, with a composure in front of goal beyond his years.

Just after his 14th birthday, Gabriel was promoted to the Under-18s, not having to wait long for his debut for the side.

Now, only six months on, Gabriel came off the bench, scoring a truly impressive brace, showing off the reason why he is compared to one of the greats of the game.

For his second goal of the game, the 14-year-old coolly brought down a lofted ball with a perfectly controlled first touch from a lofted pass, a calm roll past his marker, and a powerful finish into the far corner.

However, this wasn’t the first impressive glimpse we got of the youngster.

Back in March 2025, the United youth team took to the Floodlit Cup with Gabriel showing his resilience against Blackburn Rovers.

Despite suffering a dislocated shoulder after a heavy collision, the teenager continued playing, popped it back in, and went on to deliver an incredible performance, scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist in United’s 4–0 win.

Europe’s elite show interest in the generational talent

As expected with such a talent, Europe’s elite are eagerly watching JJ Gabriel. Top clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are all showing strong interest in the talented teenager.

With academy transfers permitted from the age of 14, United are now on edge of losing their star, with a move perfectly possible given the right incentive.

In August 2024, Gabriel visited Barcelona and was given an exclusive experience, being given a tour of Camp Nou, gifted match tickets, a signed shirt from Lamine Yamal, and even met the first-team squad. While some suggested it was just a warm gesture from the Catalan club, others feared it was a deliberate attempt to lure the youngster away from Old Trafford.

Thankfully for United, there’s been no movement since, and reports now indicate the club are working hard to retain him long-term, with Gabriel himself believed to be happy with his development in Manchester.

However, it’s not just clubs who are looking to sign the youngster, with Nike also signing him to a lucrative deal, with the sportswear giants wanting to capitalise on his impending rise to rival Messi and his own icon, Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as his social media following.

With youth firmly on his side, Gabriel still has a few years ahead of him in the Under-18s side, however we’re expecting to hear his name a lot from hear on out.

It also wouldn’t surprise us if “Kid Messi” gets an invite to participate in senior team training sessions when they’re short on numbers in a season’s time before breaking into the first-team in years to come.

As long as United can keep hold of the young star, he’s sure to be a key part in revitalising the squad and could be a central point of their long-lasting success.

However in the short term, the opposing Under-18s sides are sure to be having nightmares of facing him in the coming years.

  • JJ Gabriel father speaks out on transfer rumours

Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel is generating an immense amount of hype as the 14-year-old has officially made his debut for the Under-18s side.

The young striker came on in the 65th minute, replacing Jim Thwaites, as the academy side took on Leeds United.

Gabriel proceeded to score a brace as the United Under-18s won 13-1, later commenting “U18 debut at U14, 2 goals on debut” on his social media.

Already clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are after the youngster affectionately nicknamed “Kid Messi” as the pair have similar styles of play on the pitch.

This was shown with Gabriel’s second goal of the game as he brought down a lofted ball on the edge of the box, delicately knocking it beyond the defender to be one-on-one with the keeper, firing it beyond the keeper’s reach.

With the youngster displaying a generational talent already, it’s no surprise that the top clubs are all gunning for him.

It’s also worth noting that JJ Gabriel holds an Irish passport with his father, Joe O’Cearuill, being a former Irish centre-back, meaning that European sides could sign him earlier than if he only held an English one.

However, his father has now weighed in on the situation as he’s been rumoured to be pushing for a move away from United for his son.

Taking to X, O’Cearuill commented: “The amount of lies people post is crazy.”

He continued: “Please stop spreading false information about me and JJ. Someone writes some lies, and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.”
