  • Amad Diallo shares latest injury update

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has taken to social media to update fans on his recovery from injury.

The winger has been absent since February with a suspected injury to his ankle ligaments, but could be set for an early return to action.

Despite Ruben Amorim previously confirming the Ivorian would be missing for the remainder of the season, he has since suggested Diallo may return in May.

“Even Amad, we will see in the end of the last month,” Amorim said in March, “I don’t want to say anything but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season.”

On Wednesday, United further stoked the flames of excitement by sharing images of Diallo in the gym at Carrington Training Centre.

And today, Diallo took to social media platform, Instagram, to share his own image of his recovery.

In a story posted by NAS Elite Sports Performance, the account for an “athlete development and performance centre”, Diallo was pictured posing on an exercise bike.

The caption read “Pas a pas, mon gars @amaddiallo19”, which, translated to English, means “step by step, my friend”.

NAS work with multiple footballers including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Kobbie Mainoo, and Ian Maatsen, and say they have a dedicated team to “help facilitate your journey to elite performance.”

Diallo’s latest update will excite United fans, who will hope the Ivorian could return before a potential Europa League final.

The Red Devils played the first leg of their quarter-final away against French club Lyon on Thursday and were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw, after Rayan Cherki’s late equaliser cancelled out Joshua Zirkzee’s header.

Amorim’s side will hope to progress into the semi-finals when Lyon travel to Old Trafford next Thursday, with either Rangers or Athletic Bilbao waiting in the next round.

  • Manchester United to bid for Désiré Doué

Manchester United are preparing an offer to bring PSG sensation Desire Doue to the Premier League, according to Fichajes.

Doue has stunned for the French giants this season, after completing a deal worth around £43m last summer to sign the player from Stade Rennais.

The 19-year-old has wowed fans in the Champions League, especially, and made his mark on Wednesday in the first leg of PSG’s quarter-final against Aston Villa.

Having gone 1-0 down, the home side were in need of some magic to break down the deep Villa defence, and Doue supplied it in abundance.

Picking up the ball in the left channel, the winger dribbled inside and looked up before curling a stunning strike into the top right corner, leaving Emiliano Martinez with no chance.

It was just the latest moment of quality Doue has demonstrated in a fantastic few months for the teenager.

Since the turn of the year, Doue has scored an impressive 10 goals and has established himself as a key player for PSG after struggling for a starting role in the first half of the season.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United have strongly renewed their interest in the winger and will make their move in the summer.

The deal will not be easy, though, as PSG will not be keen to let go of their emerging star and will certainly hope to recoup more than the £43m they paid for him last summer.

Any potential signing of Doue would present a massive coup for Ruben Amorim’s team.

The teenage prodigy would add talent in its droves to the United front-line, supplying Amorim with a player more than capable of lighting up the Premier League.

  • Matheus Cunha drops major transfer hint

Wolves player and Manchester United target Matheus Cunha has dropped a transfer hint amid speculation building over his future.

Cunha signed a new contract at Wolves in February with a £62.5m release clause, which can be activated this summer.

Manchester United’s interest dates back to January, when Cunha’s commitment to Wolves for the remainder of the season was uncertain.

The Brazilian chose to stay with the club to help them battle relegation, but has experienced rough patches since.

In March, Cunha was sent off against Bournemouth and handed a three-match suspension for violent conduct, a ban which was later extended to four games following an FA review.

The forward is due to return to action tomorrow against Tottenham, but has today dropped a hint about his future.

In a deleted story on Instagram, Cunha said: “Time to be happy. I will follow my dreams, not yours… so stay cool”

The message appears to be directed towards Wolves fans, who have been unhappy with Cunha’s attitude in recent months.

With interested clubs circling over a possible move in the summer, the message serves as a clear signal of Cunha’s intent.

The striker has enjoyed a successful season in terms of numbers, bagging 13 goals in the Premier League so far.

He was particularly impressive against Manchester United at the Molineux earlier in the season, scoring and assisting in a 2-0 victory for Wolves.

Patience for Cunha’s antics has clearly worn thin among fans of the West Midlands club, however, with one fan posting on X (formerly known as Twitter): “He shouldn’t play again. We will get the release fee regardless.”

  • Cesc Fabregas tells Manchester United to back off transfer target

Manchester United have been told to back off by Premier League legend and Como 1907 manager Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard was hired permanently as manager of Serie A club Como in 2024, after coaching on an interim basis for a month in 2023.

The club currently sit 13th in Italy, having signed several high-profile players in the summer.

Maxence Caqueret, Pepe Reina, Dele Alli, and former Manchester United player Raphael Varane were just some of the players brought in by the club based in the North of Italy, although Varane has since retired from professional football.

Como also completed a move for highly-rated winger Assane Diao in January, the 19-year-old arriving for around £10.5m from Real Betis.

And Diao has impressed in the months following, scoring six goals in just 13 appearances.

United have been linked with a move for the pacey winger, but Fabregas has issued a clear message to the English club – back off.

He said: ” We are trying to go for young, talented players who were not playing: they do well here and obviously their value increases. There is no mentality of speculating and selling, they come here to grow and improve the team.

“Then obviously, Manchester can come and ask for Diao by offering €40million, but it is not a given that he will leave.”

Diao has established himself as a real talent, and is likely to attract Premier League bids sooner rather than later.

The teenager has also demonstrated a knack for scoring in the biggest games, with goals coming against AC Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina and Napoli.

His goal against Milan was particularly impressive, the youngster picking up the ball on the right wing and driving towards the box, before powering the ball past the goalkeeper and into the near corner.

Whether Diao moves this summer or not, he will certainly be one of the names on Ruben Amorim’s watch-list.

  • Manchester United star makes debut

Rising stars have continued to bolster the ranks at Manchester United this season.

Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi-Martin were both signed this season and have made impressions in the first team, after progressing from the academy.

Heaven, in particular, made his presence known after joining from Arsenal in January.

The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut against his former club, before enjoying an assured half of football against Leicester City.

A foot injury would unfortunately halt the 18-year-old’s momentum, but he is expected to return imminently and will have a part to play before the season ends.

The United first team, whilst featuring players just making their breakthroughs, also boasts several players from the academy who have established themselves as core members.

Alejandro Garnacho made his impact in 2022 and has since gone on to make 134 appearances for United, with Kobbie Mainoo being another youngster with a similar story.

The next players to make their move for Ruben Amorim’s first team are currently biding their time in the academy squads, but fans may not have to wait much longer to see one make the step.

14-year-old JJ Gabriel made an impressive impact for the U18s on his debut last week, coming off the bench to score a brace.

And last night, Noah Ajayi, a 16-year-old winger, made his debut for the U21s, despite not yet making his U18s debut.

United beat Reading 4-1, with goals from Samuel Mather, Gabe Biancheri and James Scanlon.

Ajayi played just the final minutes but will hope his appearance will be the first of many, before the ultimate step-up to the first team.

Sharp and with an impressive finish, Ajayi could present another exciting option for Amorim in the future.

  • Marcus Rashford set for Manchester United talks

Marcus Rashford is set for talks with Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim if he returns this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The England international swapped Old Trafford for Villa Park on loan in January, after his relationship with Amorim reportedly had broken down.

And since joining Aston Villa, Rashford has rediscovered some of the ability that saw him enjoy productive years with the Red Devils.

With four assists and three goals since joining, the winger has looked to prove a point to United ahead of a possible return in the summer.

Villa reportedly have an option to buy included in the loan deal, with a £40m fee enough to retain Rashford’s services permanently in Birmingham.

Should they choose not to activate it, however, Rashford will hold talks with Amorim this summer.

The meeting will aim to clear the air between the two, ahead of a possible transition back into the United squad.

The report claims that United are still willing to sell Rashford, should Villa not activate the option, but will include him in their pre-season tour squad if a deal cannot be made.

Rashford, who played 426 games for United and scored 138 goals, was accused by Amorim of not buying into his ideas.

The Portuguese coach claimed there was “nothing personal” with the winger, but that Rashford “has to change”.

After the Englishman was left out of the squad for multiple matches, and told the media he was ready for “a new challenge”, a move was finally confirmed in the closing days of the winter transfer window.

Following Rashford’s brace in the FA Cup against Preston North End, Amorim said: “Rashford is not my player at the moment, but every player that performs well on loan is good news for our club, so we are happy with that.”

  • Rasmus Hojlund asking price revealed

According to reports in Italy, Manchester United have set their price tag for clubs interested in signing Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

The Dane arrived at Old Trafford in 2023, signed from Atalanta for an initial £64m, potentially rising to £72m if add-ons are met.

The striker arrived carrying an injury, and took time to adapt to the Premier League following his recovery.

In the Champions League, however, Hojlund hit the ground running, scoring five goals in the group stage, including one against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

His first Premier League goal came in December 2023, and goals in five consecutive Premier League games followed.

Hojlund finished the 2023/24 season with 16 goals in all competitions, a positive tally for the young striker’s opening season.

This season, though, the 22-year-old has struggled to recapture his form.

The arrival of Joshua Zirkzee has limited the Dane’s minutes, scoring just three Premier League goals so far this season.

That failure to find form has prompted reports linking Hojlund with an exit from United this summer.

TuttoMercatoWeb, an Italian outlet, have suggested Juventus could be one of the clubs interested, and that Manchester United have set a price tag of £52m on their striker.

There has not been direct contact between the clubs, according to the report, but Hojlund could be a good choice for the Italian giants should Dusan Vlahovic depart.

The report also claims that United would not accept any suggestion of a loan move for the Dane.

In the event of Hojlund’s sale, United have been linked to multiple strikers who could replace him.

Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap, and Benjamin Sesko, are just a few of the strikers linked with a potential move to Old Trafford this summer, with Ruben Amorim keen to resupply goals into his forward line.

  • The Ehimiaghes Renew Their Bendel Insurance FC Policy

The family of late Mr Israel Menson Ehimiaghe (nee Bamawo) recently donated the “humble sum” of One Million Naira to Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin City. The Ehimiaghes see their gesture as an attempt to support a sport club that their late father worked for and supported during his life time. “Wherever our late father is, he is going to be saying: “na me born dem.” Prior to his death in December 1979, the late Mr Israel Menson Ehimiaghe was the branch manager of the now defunct Bendel Insurance Company in their office in Auchi.

One of the children of the late super supporter of the Benin Arsenal, Cornelius Ehimiaghe stated: “my father was a Bendel Insurance football club supporter through and through. I grew up to hear the slogan nobody can win us, only Bendel. When my late father was alive, there were commemorative clothes, T-shirts, caps, and paper flags that celebrated our winning the 1972 and 1978 Nigeria Challenge Cup. Though I could not read properly in 1978, there was a pictorial football magazine that covered our 1978 FA Cup victory over Enugu Rangers. After my father’s death in 1979, I more or less inherited all these football memorabilia, as well as his transistor radio.”

    Israel Menson Ehimiaghe

“Furthermore, I recall that after we won the Nigerian league in 1979, my late father scouted a street football in Auchi, got the permission of the player (Aminu Momoh) parents, drove the player to Benin City in his 504 Peugeot car, and introduced the player to coach Alabi Assien. After a brief trial, the young midfielder was employed by Bendel Insurance FC. My father used to plan his travel to Benin around the weekends that the Benin Arsenal had their home matches. The last of the matches he watched his beloved Bendel Insurance FC play was the semi-final match of the Africa Cup Winners Cup against Cannon Sportiff of Yaoundé, at the Ogbe Stadium in Benin in November 1979. The match ended in a goalless draw which meant that the Benin Arsenal failed to make it to the final due to a dubious offside goal by Onguene Manga, two weeks earlier in Yaoundé. A few years ago, I told coach Alabi Assien that my late father would not have died on 12/12/1979, if the Benin Arsenal had triumphed over Cannon Sportiff. Without fear or favour, my late father would have negotiated with the angel of death to come and pick him up a few weeks later, after Bendel Insurance FC would have won the 1979 Africa Cup Winners Cup. The rest is history.”

“Growing up without a father in the austerity/structural adjustment ravaged 1980s was very tough. Our grandparents, some of my mother’s “super cousins,” Barrister Charles Adogah (SAN) and late auntie T.M. Faleye were very supportive. My elder brother and I had to also put in some odd jobs shift in order to ensure that we did not go to bed hungry. I started working in the civil service in Bendel State before I was eighteen years old. I never one day dreamt of going to the university. However, after more than five years in the unemployment queue, my mother got a nursing job in UNIBEN. This ensured that we just managed to survive the almost wasted 1980s.”

As part of following the footsteps of his late father, Cornelius Ehimiaghe also paid a courtesy visit to coach Alabi Assien, had a few minutes chat with the Management and coaching staff of Bendel Insurance FC, where he commended their efforts in steering the Benin Arsenal from relegation waters. The Ehimiaghes also donated two hundred thousand Naira to the supporters’ club of Bendel Insurance FC. “Win, lose or draw, we are proud of our “UP BENDEL identity.”

  • Asking price set for Manchester United target

Ahead of Ruben Amorim’s first summer transfer window as Manchester United head coach, work has begun on identifying the club’s transfer targets.

A striker certainly looks to be a priority for the Red Devils, with Liam Delap, Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, and Benjamin Sesko all linked.

And moves for defenders and midfielders could also be on the schedule.

United have suffered from long-term injuries to key players – Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo this season, and will likely look to bolster their ranks to avoid a repeat of the crisis next season.

One of their reported targets, Tyler Dibling, could be on the move this summer, according to CaughtOffside.

Southampton have set a £100m price tag on the youngster, but Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently leading the race, believe the Saints could accept a package worth around £40-45m.

Dibling has impressed for Southampton this season, despite the club’s struggles to adapt to Premier League football.

With four goals and three assists, the 19-year-old has often stood out as a shining light for the club and has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs.

With Southampton’s relegation confirmed last week, any hope of retaining their academy graduate through the summer appears to be lost.

The winger has demonstrated excellent ability with the ball at his feet, and a keen eye for goal.

He impressed, notably, at Old Trafford earlier in the season, where, despite his team’s loss, Dibling made life difficult for United and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.

United will have to fight off a host of fellow interested clubs if they are to sign the teenager, including Arsenal and Tottenham, but the potential addition of exciting attacking talent could outweigh any concerns over the price tag.

  • Mike Phelan sends stark warning to Ruben Amorim

Manchester United played out a thrilling quarter-final first leg against the French side on Thursday night.

However, the Red Devils were left frustrated after conceding a last-minute equaliser.

Thiago Almada gave Lyon the lead in the first half, beating Andre Onana with a direct free-kick after a poor set-up by the United wall and a delayed reaction from the goalkeeper.

United responded well and levelled on the brink of half-time.

Centre-back Leny Yoro rised highest to head home from close range past Lucas Perri.

Substitute Joshua Zirkzee appeared to have won the game late on after nodding in a brilliant header in the 88th minute.

But United’s advantage was short-lived as Lyon snatched a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time.

Onana initially denied Georges Mikautadze’s effort from close range but failed to deal with the rebound.

He pushed the ball straight into the path of Rayan Cherki who slotted it home.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper has been under fire throughout the season.

Onana’s latest mistakes have again raised questions about his reliability in key moments.

Mike Phelan urges Ruben Amorim to consider dropping Andre Onana

Speaking to Sky Sports, former United assistant manager Mike Phelan did not hold back, calling on Amorim to make a bold decision regarding his No 1.

“That’s the biggest decision as a manager you have to make,” Phelan said.

“I know one great manager who made a huge decision in a cup final one year for Manchester United.”

“It’s a decision you have to look at.”

“Is there a number two goalkeeper at United capable of taking the role for the rest of the season?”

“You can’t keep covering up those mistakes.”

Phelan’s comments reflect growing unease among fans.

Many of whom criticised Onana’s performance on social media after the match.

Despite the criticism, Ruben Amorim played down concerns post-match.

The Portuguese insisted he hadn’t spoken to Onana directly yet.

“No, I didn’t see him, to be honest with you,” Amorim said when asked if Onana was feeling down, via Manchester United’s official website.

“I used these minutes to try to calm down, to come here to say the right things. But it’s normal.”

Amorim now faces a major call ahead of the second leg as United try to secure a semi-final spot and keep their European hopes alive.
