  • Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future stance revealed

Manchester United’s final matches of the campaign could have massive implications beyond the race for European football.

Ruben Amorim is already being backed ahead of a crucial summer rebuild, with the Red Devils expected to be active in the transfer market once again.

Big-name exits are on the table as Manchester United aim to clear space on the wage bill and rejuvenate their underperforming squad.

Several loanees are also unlikely to return to the fold next season, with the club instead looking to cash in on unsettled talent and invest in players more suited to Amorim’s system.

And now, plans are being quietly laid for a major summer transfer — with one current outcast’s future potentially holding the key.

Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Aston Villa, and the Midlands club hold an option to sign him permanently for £40million.

But despite that clause, Manchester United could reportedly receive a higher fee if the England international is sold elsewhere, and interest is already building from clubs in Spain.

With Marcus Rashford earning around £365,000 per week and still having three years left on his contract after this season, selling him would not only generate a large transfer fee but also save United approximately £56million in wages.

That would give the Red Devils nearly £100million to reinvest — and one name high on their list is Matheus Cunha.

The Wolves star is believed to earn around £90,000 a week, but if United can offer him a significant pay rise on a five-year deal, Rashford’s departure could effectively fund most of Cunha’s transfer.

Cunha has impressed this season with his dynamic displays in the Premier League, and his profile aligns with the kind of forward Amorim wants to lead United’s line.

The relationship breakdown between Rashford and Amorim, along with key figures at boardroom level, makes it highly unlikely the 27-year-old will ever play for Manchester United again, as per Jamie Jackson.

As a result, his exit this summer seems inevitable — and it could prove crucial in unlocking United’s next marquee signing.

  • Burnley pay Manchester United due to promotion

Ruben Amorim is preparing to oversee a crucial summer rebuild at Manchester United following another underwhelming campaign.

With several players expected to leave Old Trafford in the coming months, the Portuguese boss will also be looking to explore creative financial boosts as he reshapes the squad.

Recent developments around United’s loan and sell-on arrangements have become increasingly important, with several former academy graduates thriving elsewhere.

Meanwhile, young talents like Harry Amass are drawing interest for summer loans, and others could be evaluated for reintegration or sold with profit-generating clauses.

Now, another forgotten name has brought good news to United’s financial books—this time thanks to a key promotion clause.

Former Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has helped Burnley secure an immediate return to the Premier League after their 2-1 win over Sheffield United at Turf Moor.

The 22-year-old, who spent six years at Old Trafford before being sold last summer, played the full 90 minutes and won the decisive penalty that sealed promotion.

Hannibal Mejbri has made 36 appearances this season under Scott Parker and played a valuable role in the club’s second-place finish, ensuring they cannot be overtaken with two games remaining.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United inserted a series of clever clauses in the £5.4m transfer that could ultimately rise to £9.4m.

A buy-back option and a matching rights clause give United the chance to re-sign the Tunisian international if another club makes a move for him.

However, the most immediate benefit comes from a six-figure bonus linked to Burnley’s promotion—believed to be part of the £4 million add-ons within the original deal.

Simon Stone confirmed the news via social media, stating that United would “benefit from six-figure sum” due to this clause.

In addition to that, a 50% sell-on clause—albeit one that decreases over time—means United could still profit handsomely if Burnley eventually sells the player elsewhere.

Whether Hannibal Mejbri returns to Old Trafford or not, United’s decision to structure a deal with multiple safety nets may prove vital as Amorim eyes fresh additions ahead of the 2025/26 season.

  • Chelsea to sell Manchester United target in summer

Manchester United’s nightmare season has highlighted one problem more than any other – the severe lack of goals.

The Red Devils have only managed to score 38 times in the Premier League so far.

A struggle, which has underlined their desperate need for a reliable forward.

Rasmus Hojlund has struggled badly, with his form dipping to the point that staff at Old Trafford have begun to lose faith in his long-term potential.

With the club’s attacking issues so clear, it’s no surprise that United were linked to fresh attacking options during the January transfer window.

One name that was firmly on the radar was Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea pushing for £35m from Christopher Nkunku sale

Talks were held of a possible swap deal that could have seen Alejandro Garnacho move the other way to Stamford Bridge.

That deal never materialised in the winter window.

However, interest in Nkunku has never truly gone away.

According to Maxifoot, Chelsea are now prepared to cut their losses on the Frenchman and will accept offers of around €40million (£35m) for him this summer.

Nkunku arrived at Stamford Bridge last season with high expectations following a prolific spell at RB Leipzig.

However, his time in London has been plagued by injury and inconsistency.

Despite returning to fitness, the 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact under Enzo Maresca.

He has often found himself misprofiled in a system that revolves around Cole Palmer’s central influence.

Nkunku’s best years came at Leipzig, where he thrived as a shadow striker.

Typically operating in the number 10 role and making late, intelligent runs into the penalty area.

At Chelsea, that role has largely belonged to Enzo Fernandez.

Thus forcing Nkunku to adapt to positions where his qualities haven’t been fully utilised.

It therefore comes as little surprise he has found it difficult to shine.

Now Chelsea are ready to move him on.

With United’s need for goals greater than ever, the links to Nkunku could easily resurface as the summer window approaches.

Manchester United have endured a terrible league campaign, sitting in bottom half of the Premier League.

One positive that has come from the league campaign being an unforgettable one, is the emergence of young talents coming into the side.

Ruben Amorim has taken an approach with young players that fans will be delighted with so far.

Chido-Obi made his debut against Tottenham Hotspur, shortly after signing a professional contract.

Ayden Heaven made his debut against Fulham, shortly after signing from Arsenal.

Tyler Fredricson the latest debutant – the 20-year-old has come through the academy at United.

The Englishman made his debut against Wolves in the 1-0 defeat, deployed at left-centre back.

He produced a fine performance, winning the most recoveries (12) from any player throughout.

Despite United losing the game, the quality and composure on show from Fredricson was the main positive from the afternoon.

He has since taken to Instagram, to share such a proud moment.

Fredricson posted “Special day and a dream come true.

“Gutted about the result but a proud day for me and my family.

“Thanks for the support, hopefully many more to come.”

Manchester United academy stars congratulate Tyler Fredricson

Marcus Rashford commented “well done bro”, along with messages of support from several other United academy graduates.

Godwill Kukonki, Shea Lacey, Ethan Wheatley and Toby Collyer all congratulated Fredricson under the post.

It’s an exciting time for United fans, seeing the emergence of many young stars.

Many will be keen to follow the impact Kobbie Mainoo has made.

However, Ruben Amorim will be aware of the need to be wise with the development of young players.

Next season will bring a huge pressure in need for results.

Thus, making the summer transfer window a huge one in order to strengthen the squad and lessen the burden on young players.

  • Antonio Conte ‘obsessed’ with signing Manchester United star attacker

Manchester United’s season has been nothing short of disastrous, with the club spending the majority of the campaign stuck in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

With Champions League qualification looking increasingly unlikely, United are braced for a difficult summer.

Both in terms of rebuilding the squad and complying with financial restrictions.

That likely means sales will be required, especially if the club misses out on the £100m Champions League revenue.

One player who could be sacrificed is Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine winger was heavily linked with a January exit.

Both Napoli and Chelsea explored the possibility of a deal.

While nothing materialised at the time, interest in Garnacho has not gone away.

Napoli were especially keen to land Garnacho in the winter window.

However, the attacker’s high wage demands reportedly forced the Italian club to step back from negotiations.

Antonio Conte remains firm on bringing Alejandro Garnacho to Italy

However, the Italian side now under Antonio Conte, appear ready to return for him this summer.

According to Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, Conte is ‘obsessed’ with the idea of bringing Garnacho to Naples.

Conte is reportedly unsatisfied with Napoli’s current attacking options as the club seek a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Conte sees Garnacho as the ideal fit.

While other names like Igor Paixao and Riccardo Orsolini are on Napoli’s shortlist, Longo claims Conte’s ‘obsession’ has reached a point where he is pushing hard for Garnacho to arrive in Naples this summer.

The feeling around Napoli is that securing Garnacho’s signature could go a long way to solving their post-Kvaratskhelia rebuild.

Conte seems determined to make it happen.

The summer window will be a huge one for United fans, who will continue to see the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Garnacho linked with exits.

  • Andy Mitten reveals Manchester United are already looking to sign one expensive player

Manchester United’s 2024/25 campaign has spiralled into one of their most underwhelming seasons in recent memory.

Despite early optimism and the arrival of Ruben Amorim to inject fresh energy into the squad, the club has faltered domestically and struggled to establish consistency across all competitions.

With key players underperforming and an alarming lack of cohesion on the pitch, United have been left chasing shadows as the season nears its conclusion.

Veterans such as Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are facing uncertain futures, while the club is actively preparing for a summer exodus that could see several high earners and fringe players depart.

As INEOS prepares for their first full transfer window in control, a rebuild feels inevitable.

Now, journalist Andy Mitten has added fuel to the transfer speculation by revealing a significant detail on the Talk of the Devils podcast.

“I know Manchester United are looking at one player,” Andy Mitten said, “but he’s paid a fortune.”

Though Mitten didn’t disclose a name, the suggestion is that United’s recruitment team is pursuing a high-profile, high-earning target—one that could prove costly in terms of wages.

This aligns with recent speculation surrounding players such as Victor Osimhen, who has long been linked with the club.

Another possible candidate is Matheus Cunha, who was reported to have agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.

Benjamin Sesko, Liam Delap and Tyler Dibling are but a few signings United are targeting in the upcoming transfer window.

What’s clear is that Amorim and INEOS are focusing on quality over quantity this summer.

The plan is to trim the wage bill, offload aging players, and bring in individuals who match the manager’s pressing style and tactical discipline.

Manchester United will look to prioritise certain positions over others and these are areas United have lacked consistency in this season.

While United continue to scout younger talents with potential resale value, the pursuit of a big-money target indicates they are not entirely abandoning experienced profiles.

Mitten’s comments may not confirm who United are after, but they underline the scale of their ambition—and the risks they’re willing to take to return to the top.

  • Manchester United defender leaves Old Trafford after family horror

Manchester United are still reeling from back-to-back defeats in the Premier League that have raised further questions about the depth and focus of Ruben Amorim’s squad.

The 1-0 loss to Wolves at the weekend followed a European disappointment against Lyon, as United failed to show dominance in either box.

Ruben Amorim has maintained that the squad’s mentality remains intact, but player availability has become a recurring problem.

Noussair Mazraoui was a surprise absentee at half-time during the Lyon match and then returned for the Wolves game—though no official reason has been confirmed for his midweek exit.

And now, Manchester United’s defensive depth has taken another emotional hit following a distressing personal incident involving Victor Lindelof.

The Swedish international was named on the bench for United’s Europa League quarter-final against Lyon, but left Old Trafford at half-time due to what Amorim described as “personal reasons”.

It has now been revealed that Lindelof’s young son, Francis, suffered a serious head injury just before the game.

According to his wife, Maja, the child had an accident at home, falling into the family’s glass staircase while playing with his brother.

“He split his entire head open,” she said.

“His forehead was in two parts.

“He was rushed to hospital, underwent plastic surgery and was under anaesthetic.”

Thankfully, the operation was successful, and the child is recovering well.

Maja added, “The doctors say he will have a big scar on his forehead.

“But never mind – I’m just happy that it went so well.”

Despite the emotional strain, Lindelof returned to the matchday squad for the Wolves clash and is expected to be available for United’s upcoming trip to Bournemouth.

The Swedish defender wasn’t the only one to leave Old Trafford midway through the Lyon game.

Noussair Mazraoui also made an early exit for what Amorim again described as a personal matter.

Victor Lindelof looks set to leave the club at the end of the season and admitted that talks about his future are inevitable, and he plans to engage in discussions with those involved.

Manchester United will need all hands on deck for their crucial upcoming fixtures, with Bournemouth away this weekend and the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao just days later.

With squad morale being tested off the pitch, Amorim will be hoping his players can find the focus and resilience needed to bounce back on it.

  • Ruben Amorim key factor in Matheus Cunha transfer

Manchester United are emerging as the front runners for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha as he plans a move away from the Molineux this summer.

Cunha has found himself as one of the top strikers on United’s shortlist to replace Rasmus Hojlund in the summer, with the Danish striker struggling with consistency.

This season saw Hojlund go 21 consecutive games without a goal, only just managing an assist in the 20th match, failing to be a reliable goal contributor, let alone scorer.

As such, proven Premier League strikers such as Cunha and Ipswich’s Liam Delap have emerged as key targets, with several top clubs looking at the duo.

However, The Daily Mail have now revealed that it’s Ruben Amorim himself that has given United the edge on Cunha’s other suitors in the race for his signature.

Ruben Amorim gives Manchester United the edge for Matheus Cunha

Cunha is reportedly being swayed towards an Old Trafford move by the prospect of being a vital component in Amorim’s rebuild to bring United back to their winning ways.

With this season being the club’s worst Premier League run on record, a bounce-back next season would be an incredible success for The Red Devils, with the project enticing Cunha enough to want in.

Despite United’s financial struggles, they are reported to be able to afford his £62.5 million release clause, making the move to Old Trafford a very real possibility.

Amorim’s side are confident they can get terms agreed by the end of the month to see the Brazilian striker arrive in the summer.

  • Juventus eye up move for talented Manchester United star

Juventus are looking forward to the summer with the transfer window offering the club their first chance to remodel under new manager Igor Tudor.

The Italian side are currently fifth in Serie A with five games to go, only one point behind fourth-place Bologna and the cut of for the Champions League.

Unfortunately, they’re also only two points clear of Roma, who sit in sixth place, the qualification spot for the Europa Conference League, whilst Juve will be in the Europa League if they remain in fifth.

However, to bolster their attack for next season, The Old Lady are looking to Manchester United and one of their key attackers.

Juventus maintain interest in Alejandro Garnacho

Tutto Juve has reported that the Italian side is monitoring Alejandro Garnacho, who is struggling to find his place under Ruben Amorim.

Whilst Garnacho is routinely featuring in the starting eleven at Old Trafford, his natural style as a winger doesn’t fit into Amorim’s system, with the Portuguese manager using him in a more central role.

The 20-year-old broke through into the United first team from the academy last year, winning the Puskas award for his bicycle kick against Everton and being nominated for the 2024 Golden Boy award.

However, United are now open to letting the talented winger go in a bid to generate funds for new signings better fitting for Amorim’s style.

With Garnacho being a product of the academy, his sale would also go further to ease the club’s financial struggles, counting as pure profit under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

It’s understood that United want around £50 million for Garnacho, however, it’s also been reported that Napoli are also keen to sign the winger, confident of getting it across the line for £39 million.

However, the two Italian clubs aren’t the only sides monitoring the Argentine, with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid also waiting in the wings.

As such, Juve will need to put up a really good fight to lure the star to Turin to win the race against his other suitors.
