  • Wife of US Rep. Joe Wilson jammed medicine and water into 98-year-old mom’s mouth, sheriff’s report says

The wife of U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., forcibly jammed medicine into her 98-year-old mother’s mouth with a fork and then flooded her mouth with water “until she was choking,” according to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report.

The Sept. 29 incident, which the report described as “an assault,” was witnessed by two medical technicians at the Columbia Presbyterian Community care center Lexington County, according to the report.

The State Media Co. had asked to see a copy of the sheriff’s report early last week. But an initial copy of the report, apparently written by Deputy W.C. Aiken, was not released until Monday afternoon. A letter from the Sheriff’s Department accompanying the report indicated a more detailed report may be forthcoming.

In addition to being the longtime wife of Joe Wilson, Roxanne Wilson is the mother of South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

The report said that on the afternoon of Sept. 29, facility director Cindy Robbins told a deputy that two medical technicians “had witnessed an assault by Roxanne Wilson on her mother, Martha Dusenbury.”

One medical technician who witnessed the incident said that when Roxanne Wilson arrived at the facility, staff told her that Dusenbury did not take her medicine and “kept spitting it out,” the report said.

At that point, “Roxanne got the medicine and Martha kept stating she did not want to take it. Roxanne then told Martha, ‘Your (sic) going to take this damn medicine’ and forced it into her mouth with a fork,” the report said.

Then “Roxanne … began forcing water into Martha’s mouth until she was choking … at that point, Roxanne then turned around and stated, ‘See there she took it,’” the report said.

The deputy then “attempted to speak to Martha but I was told that Martha has dementia. I asked Martha if any of this was true, to which she stated no,” the deputy wrote in the report.

The deputy then said he told Roxanne Wilson that there was an alleged assault “to where she forcibl(y) put medicine and water into her mother’s mouth. Roxanne stated that she never did such thing and stated, ‘I ain’t going there.’”

“I then advised Roxanne that the facility wanted her placed on trespass after the alleged assault. Roxanne stated that she wasn’t going to play this game and continued making several phone calls and that she would stay in the facility until the caregiver arrived,” the incident report said.

The report also said, “Roxanne ultimately left the facility without incident” and said the deputy’s body camera “was activated.”

Spokespersons for Joe Wilson and Alan Wilson had no immediate comment. Jake Moore, Roxanne Wilson’s lawyer, had no immediate comment.

Franklin Fant, CEO of Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina, declined comment Monday afternoon on the sheriff’s report.

“As a health care provider, federal HIPPA privacy rules prohibit us from sharing health care information regarding our residents,” he said. HIPPA stands for a federal law called Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Reports filed by the facility with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control characterized a Sept. 29 incident as “neglect or exploitation, suspected or confirmed abuse.” Under state law, providers are required to report such incidents to DHEC.

  • Natalie Portman, other celebs react to terrorist attacks in Israel

In the wake of the shocking attack by Hamas terrorists against Israel that resulted in a devastating loss of civilian lives, Hollywood celebrities, including Madonna, Gal Gadot and Natalie Portman, have voiced their support for the Jewish people.

Madonna, an iconic American singer, described the situation in Israel as “devastating” and took to Instagram to express her grief and plea for peace, stating, “Watching all of these families and especially children being herded, assaulted and murdered in the streets is Heartbreaking… This Tragic attack will only cause more suffering for everyone. Let us all Pray.”

Gal Gadot, known not just for her Hollywood fame as an actress but also for her two-year mandatory service as an Israeli in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), shared her support for Israel on Instagram.

“I stand with Israel,” she wrote. “You should too. The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!”

Natalie Portman, who is an Israeli-born American actress, also shared her support for Israel. Unlike Gadot, Portman did not have to serve in the IDF.

Nevertheless, Portman posted a tribute to Israel, saying, “My heart is shattered for the people of Israel. Children, women and the elderly have been murdered and abducted from their own homes. I am in horror at these barbaric acts and my heart is pounding with love and prayer for the families of all affected.”

Other celebrities, like actors Jamie Lee Curtis and Mark Hamill, also showcased their support for the Jewish people. Curtis posted a photo of the Israeli flag, while Hamill shared an image of the American and Israeli flags captioned, “America stands with Israel #ALWAYS.”

  • Biden exchanged 29,000 emails with family businesses while VP

In a recent revelation, documents from the U.S. National Archives indicate that during the Obama administration, the office of then-Vice President Joe Biden exchanged a staggering number of emails with his family members and their associated business firms.

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, procured through America First Legal, highlighted that Biden communicated through his official vice presidential email with his son Hunter Biden, his brother Jim Biden, and their businesses.

The number of emails exchanged between Biden, his family members, and their businesses, totaling over 29,000, challenged statements made by Biden during his 2020 presidential campaign.

America First Legal highlighted the lack of separation, stating, “Our lawsuit against the National Archives just unearthed that Biden’s Vice Presidential office emailed with Hunter and Jim Biden over 29,000 times. So much for that wall…”

The detailed breakdown includes 19,335 emails with Hunter Biden’s private equity firm, Rosemont Seneca; 4,243 emails with Hunter Biden; 1,751 with Jim Biden; and 3,738 with Jim Biden’s Lion Hall Group consulting firm. According to The Daily Wire, the Lion Hall Group allegedly has connections with the Chinese Communist Party.

In 2019, Joe Biden asserted, “I have never talked with my son or my brother or anyone else in the distant family about their business interests, period.” He also stated that there was no hint of scandal during his tenure as vice president during the Obama administration and emphasized the separation his presidential administration would have from private matters.

However, the information obtained by the non-profit law group America First Legal, spearheaded by former members of the Trump administration, appears to contradict Biden’s claims. “These damning numbers further confirm that there was never a wall separating the Office of the Vice President and Hunter Biden’s business endeavors,” the group wrote on X.

The content of the 29,000 emails currently remains a mystery. According to The Daily Wire, the National Archives noted that it will take over 15 months to process all of the information in the emails. Meanwhile, all of the named parties in the FOIA request are currently subjects of a GOP-led investigation into alleged influence-peddling operations within the Biden family.

On Tuesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylore Greene (R-GA) of the House Oversight Committee shared America First Legal’s post on social media, adding, “The Big Guy was definitely involved. Heavily.”

In addition to the FOIA lawsuit by America First Legal, a separate lawsuit against the National Archives by the Southeastern Legal Foundation aims to obtain approximately 5,400 emails from pseudonym accounts linked to then Vice President Joe Biden, focusing on potential discussions with Hunter Biden about foreign business matters from 2017 onwards, according to The Daily Wire.

  • Elon Musk makes all Tesla Superchargers free in Israel

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on Wednesday that all Tesla Superchargers are free in Israel as the nation reels from Hamas terrorist attacks that left 1,200 people – mostly civilians – dead and thousands more wounded.

“All Tesla Superchargers in Israel are free,” Musk posted on X, formerly Twitter.

After Hamas executed its surprise attacks on Saturday, Musk asked his followers on X, “What will it take to beat hate?”

“Be stronger than those who hate you, so that they cannot destroy you, and then forgive them,” he added.

Backed by Iran, Hamas is classified as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, praised the attacks, writing, “God willing, the cancer of the usurper Zionist regime will be eradicated at the hands of the Palestinian people and the Resistance forces throughout the region. #AlAqsaStorm”

Musk responded to the Iranian leader’s anti-Semitic post, saying, “Khamenei’s official position is clear that the eradication of Israel is the actual goal, not just supporting Palestinians. That will not happen. All that actually happens, decade after decade, is a never-ending cycle of violence and vengeance. Stoking the fires of hatred isn’t working. Perhaps it is time to consider something else.”

Echoing Khamenei’s message, a leader and founding member of Hamas, Khalid Mashal, reportedly called for a global Jihad, asking Muslims around the world to target the people of Israel on Friday, Oct. 13.

According to a translation and analysis of the video by author Brother Rachid, Mashal referred to his proposed day of anger as “the Friday of Al-Aqsa flood,” which will “send a message of rage to Zionists and to America.”

“The most important thing: He asked all Muslims around the world to carry Jihad by their souls; to fight and be martyrs for Al-Aqsa. He wants Muslims to fight against the Jews, starting with Muslims who live in the countries surrounding Israel: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt (but also other countries), to go to the borders and try to enter, each by his own means,” Rachid explained. “He said: This is the time for Jihad to be applied on the ground rather than just in theory. He asked the Mujahedeen to go in long caravans to spell their blood on the land of Palestine.”

  • Vietnam tried hacking US politicians, journalists: Report

Vietnamese government operatives reportedly tried to infiltrate the phones of U.S. Congress members, American policy professionals, and journalists using advanced spyware, exposing the increasing sophistication and audacity of cyber espionage.

The information came to light recently after thorough examinations of Twitter links and investigative documents, which were analyzed by multiple news outlets, including The Washington Post.

Notably, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a key figure in the Foreign Relations Committee, were among those targeted, according to The Washington Post. CNN’s chief national security analyst, Jim Sciutto, and two of his colleagues focused on Asia were also targeted, according to The Washington Post.

The cyber espionage efforts coincided with Vietnam and America’s negotiations on a pivotal cooperation agreement. This pact, aimed at countering China’s expanding influence in Asia, was subsequently signed by President Joe Biden during his September visit to Vietnam.

During the critical negotiations, it is believed that Vietnamese officials would have been interested in better understanding Washington’s stance on China and other Asian affairs.

The intricate hacking operation employed the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, enticing politicians and others to visit malware-riddled websites. The malware in question, “Predator,” mirrors the capabilities of the infamous “Pegasus,” allowing covert access to mobile devices, activating microphones and cameras, accessing files, and even reading encrypted messages.

According to The Washington Post, the potent spyware is circulated by entities including the European firms Intellexa and Cytrox, both recently added to the U.S. Commerce Department’s “Entity List,” which regulates business engagements.

Amnesty International’s Security Lab’s head, Donncha Ó Cearbhaill, told The Washington Post, “Through all the evidence and documents we have seen we believe that Predator was sold from Intellexa through several intermediaries to the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.”

Vietnam’s use of cyber-espionage is not a new development. Prior instances of cyber-espionage efforts by Vietnam include their alleged attempts to hack human rights activists overseas. Their use of commercial spyware was also highlighted by the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab in 2020.

The attempt to breach U.S. officials’ privacy has raised serious concerns, especially given the recent shift in relations between the United States and Vietnam. Once adversaries, the two nations have been gravitating towards a strategic partnership, a move evident in the recent agreement signed by Biden.

According to The Washington Post, the deepening alliance between the two nations underscores the intent of the United States to diversify its supply chain from China and marks an indication of Vietnam’s openness to strengthen its global ties.

  • Drake says he’s taking a break from making music due to the ‘craziest’ health issues with his stomach

Drake announced on Friday that he’s taking a hiatus from making new music to focus on health issues with his stomach that have been dogging him “for years.”

The “God’s Plan” performer appeared on his Sirius XM Sound 42 show “Table for One” on Friday morning and said he “probably won’t make music for a little bit,” according to recordings of the live radio segment shared on social media.

“I’m going to be real with you, I need to focus on my health, first and foremost — and I’ll talk about that soon enough — nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life,” Drake teased before further explaining his health issues.

“I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he continued. “I’m just saying what it is. So, I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right, and I’m going to do that. I have a lot of other things that I would love to focus on. So, I’mma’ lock the door in the studio for a little bit.

“I don’t even know what a little bit is,” Drake added. “Maybe a year or so, maybe a little longer.”

Drake has postponed the remaining five shows on his It’s All a Blur tour — including stops in Denver, New Orleans, Nashville, Tennessee, and Columbus, Ohio, according to online ticket listings and the rapper’s website. It was not immediately clear whether the concert postponements, which fans online noticed as early as last Sunday, were connected to his health issues. Drake is still scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday in his hometown of Toronto.

Drake’s tour has made headlines for fans throwing things onstage while he was performing, as well as his reactions to them, such as flaunting the dozens of bras tossed his way and his criticism of a fan who hurled a vape pen at him at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The rap superstar announced his pause from making music on the release day of his eighth studio album, “For All the Dogs,” a 23-song project that includes features from a long line of A-list talent: Bad Bunny, SZA, J. Cole, Lil Yachty, rising star Teezo Touchdown and a sample of Frank Ocean‘s “Wise Man,” which opens the album.

Drake has had a busy pandemic rebound, releasing three full-lengths in as many years: two solo albums, “Certified Lover Boy” and his dance music LP, “Honestly, Nevermind,” followed by a joint album with 21 Savage, “Her Loss,” all of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

One of his most recent singles, “Slime You Out,” featuring SZA, drew backlash when it was released several weeks ago for lyrics that mention slavery. Neither Drake nor SZA have yet addressed criticism of the lyrics.

  • Michigan crowd cheers Palestine after Hamas kills Jews

Hundreds of residents gathered Tuesday at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan, to protest against Israel and support Palestine after Hamas killed 1,200 Jews.

Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, shared video footage on X, formerly Twitter, from Tuesday’s pro-Palestine rally in Michigan.

“Pro-Palestine rally underway in Dearborn, Michigan as people rally behind Palestine after Hamas launched an attack on Israel,” he said in a caption accompanying the video. “Community members gathered at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center to protest against Israel.”

According to Rugg, one of the children at the pro-Palestine rally held a sign that read, “Israel is killing children like me” with “red paint splattered” across the sign. Rugg also noted that Democratic State Rep. Alabas Farhat was one of the speakers featured at Tuesday’s rally.

According to FOX2 Detroit, Tuesday’s rally, which came just days after Hamas terrorists killed at least 1,200 Israelis, lasted roughly two hours and featured calls of “Free free Palestine, led by Amer Zahr, the president of New Generation for Palestine. Zahr claimed that Saturday’s devastating attack by Hamas terrorists against Israel was not unprovoked, but was an attack in response to 75 years of alleged Jewish oppression against Palestinians.

“We are not ashamed to stand for a free Palestine,” said Zahr.” This is not complicated, this is simply racism, apartheid, occupation, and ethnic cleansing. And that is what we are here today to protest, that’s what we are here today to say we stand against. It’s been going on since 1948.”

Fox2 Detroit reported that Zahr and other rally speakers indicated that the current violence in the Middle East should not be celebrated. “We are a room full of love, full of hope, full of faith,” Zahr said. “We have a homeland, we love our people. We love justice.”

However, another rally speaker spoke against the Jewish nation of Israel, stating, “They left a fire in our hearts that will burn that state until its demise.”

During Tuesday’s rally in Dearborn, David Finkel, a member of Jewish Voice for Peace-Detroit, also spoke strongly against Israel. He said, “Stop the siege of Gaza. End the occupation and Israeli apartheid. Free Palestine.”

  • Dominican Republic to reopen Haiti border for trade, but Haitians will still be barred

Nearly a month after shutting down its entire border with Haiti, the Dominican Republic says that it is ready to reopen for business, but Haitians will continue to be banned from entering the country.

The commercial corridor between the two countries will be under strict military controls and mandatory biometric checks to facilitate the trade of essential Dominican products such as food and medicine, especially for infants. While residents of the two nations will be able to trade, the Dominican National Security Council said Haitians will continue to be barred “indefinitely.”

The council also announced that among other measures the Dominican Republic “will indefinitely extend the suspension of the issuance of visas to Haitian citizens” and “will ban the export of electronics, cement, rebar and other construction materials to prevent structures from being built that threaten our environmental assets.”

“President Luis Abinader has said that the border cannot and will not be the same,” the council said in a statement Monday. “For this reason, these measures will continue to be the new normal on the border until we achieve a return to governance in Haiti. Our priority will continue to be the defense of the national interest and the security of our citizens.”

The decision follows weeks of tension and calls by the international community, led by the United States, for the two neighbors to resolve an ongoing dispute over the construction of a canal on the Haitian side of the border on the Massacre River, which straddles the two countries. In addition to calls for a resolution, the U.S. and United Nations asked the Dominican Republic to allow humanitarian aid to cross the border to Hait.

But Abinader, who is seeking re-election, doubled down on the closure and defended his decision. But in recent days pressure has been building as angry Dominican business owners along the border complain about being unable to sell their products and textile factory owners weigh laying off workers.

In its decision Monday, the National Security Council continued to defend the border closure, saying it has been successful in keeping out Haitian gangs and reducing the flow of undocumented migrants. The Dominican military, the council announced, will continue to control border access to make it “even more difficult for gang members” to cross.

On Sept. 11 the council suspended visas for Haitians and threatened to close the border if Haiti and the Dominican Republic were not able to resolve the dispute over the canal’s construction. Days later, Abinader made good on the threat.

The president’s office said the border was shut down to protect national security in the face of the political and social instability caused by gangs in Haiti and to protect the environmental integrity threatened by the unilateral construction of a canal on the river.

“With the closure of the border we keep Haitian gangs out of our territory; we stimulate the voluntary return of thousands of immigrants; the entry of undocumented immigrants is reduced; we control the smuggling of weapons and prohibited substances; and, most importantly, we show the international community our firm opposition to any Dominican solution to the Haitian problem,” the council said. Thousands of Haitians have reportedly voluntary returned to Haiti from the Dominican Republic since the border closure.

In the weeks since the dispute, Dominican authorities have moved to cut access to the waters of the Massacre River.

The Haitian government said it plans to discuss the latest Dominican measures at a cabinet meeting, but in a statement reiterated its position that it believes the best way to resolve the diplomatic tensions is through dialogue. It also congratulated the people of Haiti, who have continued to help build the canal in northeast Haiti near the border of Ouanaminthe and Dajabón.

“The government of the Republic of Haiti congratulates the population for their calm, serenity and patriotism in the face of the disproportionate measures taken by the Dominican authorities. It continues to conduct consultations and make appropriate arrangements in the interest of Haitians,” the statement said. “The government reaffirms the inalienable right of Haitians to equitably use” the river water.

Any attempt to divert the waters of the said Massacre River, Haiti said, would deprive Haitians of its use and violate a 1929 agreement between the two countries.

“The Government of the Republic of Haiti believes that an outcome will only be considered suitable if it allows the equitable sharing of water resources, the normalization of relations between the two countries and a return to the movement of people and goods of the two sides, as was the case between the two Republics before the unilateral closure of September 15,” the Haitian government said.

  • Hamas beheaded Jewish babies, IDF says

A new report based on statements from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claims that the Iran-backed terrorist group, Hamas, beheaded Jewish babies during their attack on an Israeli community near Gaza.

In a video posted on X, a reporter with i24NEWS outlined what IDF soldiers are currently finding as they search through an Israeli community near the Gaza border to clear the area of explosives and remove the bodies of innocent civilians.

“It’s hard to even explain exactly just the mass casualties that happened right here,” an i24NEWS reporter said. “In fact, the Israeli military says they still don’t have a clear number, but I’m talking to some of the soldiers, and they say what they’ve witnessed as they’ve been walking through these different houses, these different communities… babies, their heads caught off. That’s what they said…Families completely gunned down in their beds.”

After detailing the atrocities that Israeli soldiers have found in the aftermath of the brutal Hamas terrorist attacks, the i24NEWS reporter pointed to IDF soldiers who were “comforting each other” as they processed the “sheer horror” of what took place.

Based on conversations with the IDF soldiers, the reporter explained that many of the soldiers were reserves who “jumped into action” after the Hamas attacks.

“They say they’ve never experienced anything like this,” she said. “This is nothing that anyone could have even imagined. When you’re walking through here, baby cribs thrown to the side, doors thrown wide open, still some Israeli bodies still here because the fighting in this community just ended.”

i24NEWS noted that many of the Israeli soldiers are continuing to go from “house to house, door to door” in order to clear the area of any remaining explosives.

READ MORE: Video: Hamas threatens to execute Israeli civilian hostages on video; hostages incl. women, kids

“I see in the distance more bodies being covered,” the reporter added. “All the while, as they’re covering these Israeli bodies trying to evacuate everyone else from the territory, taking all the casualties out of here, it’s also littered with the bodies of terrorists.”

According to i24NEWS, one of the lead IDF commanders estimated that about 70 armed terrorists crossed over the Gaza border fence and attacked the Israeli community, as seen in the video. The Gaza border fence is located less than a quarter of a mile from the Israeli community shown in the i24NEWS video.

In a statement to i24NEWS on Tuesday, Israeli Major General Itai Veruv said, “You see the babies, the mothers, the fathers, in their bedrooms, in their protection rooms and how the terrorist kills them. It’s not a war, it’s not a battlefield. It’s a massacre, it’s a terror activity.”

Veruv explained that the brutal attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists are unlike anything he has seen before.

The Israeli general added, “It’s something that we used to imagine from our grandfathers, grandmothers in the pogrom in Europe and other places. It’s not something that happens in new history.”
