  • National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) tells APC to stop attacking Supreme Court because it lost oil-rich states

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has warned the leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC, to stop its attacks on the country’s judiciary.

APC officials have continued to condemn Supreme Court judgments on governorship elections in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states.

But NANS, Zone B, in a statement by its President, Mr Pedro Obi, said APC’s use of harsh words against the apex court was provocative.

Obi said: “We learnt that the APC is only using the political brawl in the states to indirectly accentuate its quest for the oil-rich states of Akwa Ibom and Rivers which have slipped off its political sway. This, the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, could not hide in a recent interview.

“It is really unfortunate that the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State chapter of APC, Mr. Amadu Attai, has shown his party’s desperation to take over Akwa Ibom State by all means.

“The statement released by the chairman Akwa Ibom State chapter of the APC, in response to the Supreme Court verdict on the Akwa Ibom State election, is a political propaganda that doesn’t hold water.

“It is, therefore, an orchestrated attempt to derail the governor’s industrialization blueprint which has started to yield result.

“Hence, it is a stratagem aimed at distracting the governor who is willing to work for the benefit of Akwa Ibom populace, especially the indigent ones.”

  • Gov Ben Ayade appoints 2015 Miss Heritage Queen as Protocol Officer

Gov. Ayade has appointed a beauty Queen as his executive protocol officer. Queen Akpana is still the current Miss Heritage Nigeria because she hasn’t handed over yet.

She went to represent Nigeria in South Africa last year November at the Miss Heritage International competition which took place in Sandton, Johannesburg. Unfortunately she was robbed on arrival, but with determination and hard work she still went ahead to win as MISS HERITAGE AFRICA 2015 / 2016 and today her hard work is still paying off for her as she has just been appointed as an EXECUTIVE PROTOCOL officer to the governor of Cross River State.
