    The Program Quality Specialist will have a dual role: 50% supporting donor reporting and 50% supporting new initiatives and partnerships.
    The position reports to the Program Performance and Quality Manager and works closely with the Partnerships and New Initiatives (PNI) Manager and Director of Programs and Performance and Quality (PaQ) Director.
    The position is based in Abuja and requires travel to field sites in the Northwest, Northeast, North Central, and South of Nigeria.

    Essential Job Responsibilities 

    50% Program Reporting

    Review quarterly and annual reports, including Annexes, from projects as determined by the PaQ Manager
    Document quality case studies across the program portfolio
    Lead dissemination of program products 

    50% New Initiatives

    Support the PNI Manager in strategic partner, donor, and stakeholder mapping and engagement for new initiatives.
    Ensure internal and external planning and coordination, including administration and logistics processes, for meetings, design workshops, and other partner engagements.
    Maintain consistent communication with potential partners and stakeholders and support in due diligence processes.
    Coordinate between relevant program and finance colleagues and partners for proposal and budget development support.
    Review new opportunity guidelines and documentation and provide strategic insight into portfolio relevance and potential collaborations.
    Support the PNI in coordination with program and finance teams for administrative processes and new initiative design and development.
    Directly support proposal development outlines, reviews, and writing.
    Incorporate lessons learned and relevant experience from quarterly and annual reports and case studies into new program design and development.

    Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills      

    Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, publishing, or similar area required; Master’s Degree preferred
    At least 5 years of relevant, professional experience in similar responsibility required;  
    Strong English communication, editing, and documentation skills
    Strong analytical and writing skills
    Ability to coordinate and work within strict timelines
    Creative and innovative mind
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    Working knowledge of USAID and other donors policies, rules, and regulations preferred

    Finance Associate

The individual will report to the Finance Manager (Nigeria) and assist in preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

    Responsibilities

    You will perform the duties and have the responsibilities and authority customarily performed and held by an employee in your position or as otherwise may be assigned or delegated to you by the Company including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below:

    • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
    • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
    • Maintains the general ledger.
    • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
    • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
    • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
    • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
    • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
    • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
    • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
    • Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
    • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
    • Participate in month end close and ad hoc projects as required by finance & accounting team
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    We’re looking for someone who has

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related courses, MBA/CFA a plus
    • 4+ years related Finance / Operations accounting experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
    • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
    • Confident in the ability to work with remote based team members
    • Enjoy working as a part of a team and demonstrate the ability to plan, deliver, and think ahead
    • Collaborative work style and self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
    • Maturity to drive things forward and be a proactive contributor
    • Ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a rapidly growing start-up environment
