Health Tips: Do You Know That Drinking Soda Can Make You Store More Unhealthy Fat? READ MORE HERE
Not all fat is created equal, and there’s fresh evidence that sugar-sweetened drinks make the body build up the worst kind of fat for your metabolism.
Frankie Ifop – As a Biochemist, I had to make sure I have all the health guides, so I stumbled upon this useful information and I’d like to share it out. From a health perspective, sugar-sweetened beverages don’t help the body. The very thing that makes sugary sodas, sports drinks and lemonade taste so sweet can lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other metabolic abnormalities. In a study published in the American Heart Association journalCirculation, researchers provide the strongest evidence yet that sugared drinks can lead to the accumulation of unhealthy visceral fat over time.Visceral fat differs from the kind of fat that most of us are familiar with that builds up just underneath the skin. Visceral fat emerges deep within organs; it’s embedded in the liver, pancreas and intestines. Unlike other types of fat, it tends to be more metabolically active, meaning it releases compounds that can disrupt the body’s ability to efficiently break down sugar from food and use it for energy, as well as boost production of cholesterol in the liver.Previous studies have connected sugar-sweetened drinks with higher levels of visceral fat, but those only included one-time measurements of fat levels where researchers linked how much people’s self-reports of drinking sugary beverages to their visceral fat volume. The scientists also showed that the visceral fat was biologically more likely to cause health problems. The people who drank sweet things also regularly also showed lower quality fat, which has been linked to greater metabolic abnormalities and problems such as insulin resistance, a contributor to diabetes. -

The specie of Rats that causes Lassa fever has been revealed.
BE CAREFUL
The name of the rat that harbours the virus that causes lassa fever is called multimammate rat( bcos it has many nipples like all these local street dogs after delivery). While the botanical name is mastomys natalensis.
There is also an upsurge of the disease everywhere. So we should all practice hand washing hygiene. Also all apple lovers should wash them with salt and warm water before refrigerating them to eat. Our wives should avoid testing of dry garri by chewing them for starch in the market. All garri soakers should let go for now.
The problem is that most of our garri sellers in the market buy their garri from bush markets. These garri are often fried half dry and are subsequently dried on polythene sheets on the tarred roads or compounds in the villages. These rat dive in at will, to feed their hungry bellies and in the process defecate and urinate on the garri, which dry up with it. If used for Eba, the virus may die bcos of the hot water used. But if soaked, the virus is directly ushered in. Please no one should joke with this precaution, except you process your cassava yourself.
Please share to help others, thanks.

The varied nature of the signs and symptoms makes it difficult to diagnose with Ribavin being its specific antiviral drug.It is spread through contact between broken skin with the mouse’s excreta, ingesting food contaminated with the rat’s urine or other body fluids with people living in endemic areas at high risk.Since it’s outbreak, about 8 states have reported over 76 cases which has resulted in over 40 deaths with 14 laboratory confirmed cases.Coin from Cross River Watch -

WHO: Nets, Sprays and Drugs Has Reduced Malaria Deaths Toll In 2015
DW TV According to Pedro Alonso, WHO Malaria Project Coordinator, massive investment in pro-active measures has helped prevent and sustained 6 millions deaths since 2000. But, almost halve a million people still dies from the disease for the last 15 years and majority were Children.
Malaria as we know is a deadly disease caused by a Mosquito parasite known as Plasmodium Falciparum which in turn leads to severe fever and even death. The disease is widespread among the Africa and Asia minor with more than 50% found in Africa. Tackling the disease needs special supports and awareness, that’s why the world celebrates World Malaria Day each year.
DW TV Three measures that needs to be put in place to prevents this disease inludes:
1. Insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITN). Most people usually complain of using mosquito nets due to it causing heat and the likes. But, we must learn to use it properly and maintain that significance to help keep a mosquito free generation. For there’s a saying that states; “Prevention is Better Than Cure”.
DW TV
2. Larval control by Sprays. Fumigation is also a top priority for preventing many disease causative organisms especially in the larva stages. Always fumigate your environments at least once in a month to help keep you and your family save from malaria and other relative diseases.DW TV 3. Malaria treatment by Drugs. Once diagnosed, artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) are the
mainstay of most treatments for malaria and should be administered
within 24 hours of examination.Severe malaria should be treated with injectable artesunate and followed
by a complete course of an ACT as soon as the patient can take oral
medicines.By the end of 2013, ACTs had been adopted as a first-line treatment
policy in 79 countries. In the same year, 337 million ACT treatment
courses were delivered to endemic countries. The WHO says access to ACTs among children in Africa remains poor but is
improving. Based on data from household surveys and local medical
centers, access rose from less than 1 percent in 2005 to 16 percent last
year, DW, 2015.Please share the contents to help fight malaria in Nigeria and Africa, thank you.
