  • New Street Fighter 6 Fatal Fury fighting pass will let you turn your character into Geese Howard

    Predictabo!

A new fighting pass is en route to Street Fighter 6 as Capcom announced the second Fatal Fury-themed update in a row. The last pass offered gear that would let you dress your avatar up like Andy Bogard or Joe Higashi, but this time gear is aimed at one of the most famous fighting game baddies ever: Geese Howard.

Geese’s attire is available via the premium rewards that you can unlock as you progress through the pass. You won’t be able to use any of Geese’s traditional moves since you’re essentially mapping a Geese costume onto your avatar character, but the visual of Howard in SF6 alone is enticing.

Fighting Pass pricing has been consistent from the start as it costs players $5 USD to gain access and begin grinding out the best rewards.

If you stay on top of things and complete a Fighting Pass you’ll essentially be given your money back in in-game currency, which you can use to then unlock the next Fighting Pass in a rinse and repeat system.

Capcom’s 1991 beat em up, King of Dragons, is the new game within the game you can gain access to this month, and the new avatar emote is an homage to Geese’s famous death scene at the end of Fatal Fury 1.

This pass will be available starting November 1 and run all the way through November 22 at midnight, so you best start grinding now to ensure you get all available goodies before they’re gone.

You can view all available premium rewards by clicking the thumbnail here, and you can watch the entire Fatal Fury fighting pass trailer via the embedded video below.

  • One of Guilty Gear Strive’s Evo champions is very unhappy with the game’s latest balance update

Guilty Gear Strive Season 4 has officially begun, and to usher in another arc of content Arc System Works has just added newest DLC fighter Dizzy, as well as a large set of balance changes to the game.

While fans are happy to receive new content, it appears as though the early impressions of the Guilty Gear Strive Season 4 balance changes aren’t the best among many in the fighting game community. While a lot of players have taken to social media to share their concerns and dislike for some of the latest changes, Evo 2023 Strive champion and Evo 2024 top 8 placer Leffen’s voice carries a whole lot of weight among them, and right now it appears he is very unhappy with Guilty Gear Strive Season 4.

The latest big batch of Guilty Gear Strive patch notes kicks off with some quick details on what ArcSys aimed for with the ver. 4.00 update. It reads as follows:

“This update focuses on adjustments to individual characters, rather than universal mechanics. We’ve focused on re-evaluating the core concepts and strengths and weaknesses for each character, adding new aspects and ways to play in line with that for all of them.

“Many characters have received significant changes to their tactics and controls, meaning players will have to go back and practice to re-learn some things. However, we hope that this new version of the game will be fun for everyone.”

Every character on the playable Strive roster received balance changes here with the Season 4 update. Leffen took to Twitter to share his findings so far, and after spending some time with the new patch had some not so good things to say about it.

Firstly, Leffen makes note of what particular balance changes stand out the most right now as problematic.

“Ramlethal somehow buffed, Nagoriyuki has kara bite, May buffed, etc.” Leffen began. “Harder chars giga nerfed. Zato/Faust barely buffed.
ArcSys really f****** don’t like people who play hard chars and do well don’t they.”

He elaborates further on Ramlethal’s newfound strength saying she is “god now.”

Overall, it looks as though the top level Guilty Gear Strive competitor really dislikes this new update going so far as to say that the Season 4 patch is “horrible” and that Arc System Works has ruined their game.

What do you think of the new Guilty Gear Strive Season 4 balance changes? Do you agree with Leffen here? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Election Interference & Drag Queen Creeps

We are entering the finals days before the election. During a week filled with intense anti-Trump rhetoric and left-wing propaganda, we can’t forget that voter fraud is real.

That’s why this week, I was locked in on exposing some of the most insane election irregularities and blatant election interference.

At the start of the week, I released a story on the University of North Carolina Greensboro. This University, which grants each student an ID card called a “spartan card” sent an email to all students informing them that they could use their student ID to vote.

But we were also able to confirm that international, non-citizen students would be receiving this ID card. Under North Carolina voting laws, they could potentially vote in U.S. elections.

Yet, the concerns over voting didn’t stop in North Carolina.

In Arizona, Jena Griswold, the infamous AZ Secretary of State who attempted to remove Trump from the ballot, was responsible for the public release of passwords for voting machines in the state.

    Image

Under Arizona law, any person who knowingly publishes or causes the publishing of confidential information related to voting systems shall be guilty of a class 5 felony. That didn’t stop her from attempting to deflect and deny that it was an issue.

She needs to be investigated and held responsible.

I then exposed Apple for their apparent election interference when I discovered that the AI voice known as Siri would display images of Kamala Harris when asking about the next general election.

With the government and big tech both working to cover up election controversies, it’s more important than ever to expose their attempts to impede our right to vote.

However, this week wasn’t just about the election.

I also released an insane story exposing Whitman Middle School in Wisconsin after they decided to invite a transgender drag performer to talk with kids about LGBTQ history.

The viral story caused the school to issue a statement, announcing that they would “delay the visit” of the drag queen event for another time.

This event should not just be “delayed” but entirely canceled. Men pretending to be women who post sexually explicit pictures and promote 18+ drag events online should not be allowed near children.

With your support, I will continue shedding light on the existence of election interference and I will keep exposing woke school systems that push radical gender ideology on your children. Your right to a fair election matters and your kids deserve to be protected from dangerous ideologies while they are at school. Together, we will make a difference!

Have a great weekend and make sure to vote!

  • Should Street Fighter 6 have more costumes by now, or did Capcom just spoil us with Street Fighter 5?

Street Fighter 6 has been thriving over the last 17 months since its release back on June 2, 2016, and though the game has seen plenty of wins through an expanding roster and a relatively impressive early balance, fans are starting to wonder where certain DLC content is.

It’s no secret that Capcom shaved off DLC character quantity from Street Fighter 5’s 6-character seasons to Street Fighter 6’s 4-character seasons, but lately grumbles have surrounded the amount of costumes cranked out for SF6, or rather, the lack thereof.

It’s not like Street Fighter 6 is lacking in content, but its predecessor set standards that it simply isn’t living up to. Beyond the seven additional characters that have been added to the character select screen, Street Fighter 6 has seen the bulk of its new content flow into its single player modes.

Every month new avatar gear becomes available, such as the infamous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumes or the brand new Geese Howard custom accessories. Not everyone in the player base appreciates such additions, however, as those who tend to stick to ranked bouts might never even enter Battle Hub or World Tour Modes.

At this point each SF6 roster member has three costumes, save for M. Bison and Terry, who both have just two. This totals 70 costumes across all available characters, including standard outfits.

It’s apples to oranges, to an extent, but the community can’t help but compare the current Street Fighter to its predecessor, which had more than 70 costumes before the end of its first year. In fact, by this point in Street Fighter 5’s life, Capcom had included more than 100 costumes (16 of which belonged to Chun-Li alone).

18 of the 20 costumes Chun-Li had in Street Fighter 5

Capcom has rolled out two additional costume packs for main roster characters in SF6 since launch, and both of those packs were widely celebrated by fans as significant wins, but Street Fighter 5 saw a much more constant trickle as Sporty, Professional, Pro Tour, Summer, Halloween, and Holiday themed packs seemed to drop every other month.

Again, things like pricing, character count, and even perceived game quality could all factor onto the scales here. With that in mind, we are seeing an increased rate of posts asking where more SF6 costumes are at, especially when Capcom rolls out a new fighting passes as each one brings more custom avatar content.

There’s nothing that says SF6 should be on pace with SF5 (which ended up with nearly 400 total costumes across 44 characters and about 7 years when things were all said and done), but the developer/consumer relationship surrounding DLC content is especially tense in the fighting game genre right now.

This is thanks in no small part to lofty price tags on mid content, and costumes are potentially Capcom’s most obvious means of making sure this relationship stays in good standing.

How do you feel about the current costume situation in Street Fighter 6? Are we asking too much to say this arena is lacking given the quality of other SF6 DLC content (such as new characters)? Share your thoughts with us (and Capcom) in the comments below.

  • Visual guide shows all latest crazy Guilty Gear Strive changes in action

No one puts in the work quite like Rooflemonger as the Canadian content creator has constructed a full visual guide to show us, in real time, what all has changed in the latest Guilty Gear Strive patch.

It’s one thing to see the notes on paper, but a whole other to be able to watch the changes play out in front of your eyes. Rooflemonger details out some of the general and more global alterations and then cycles through the entire character select screen to demonstrate exactly what all has changed.

We’ve already seen a bit of controversy about this patch as certain characters seem to be wildly overpowered (at least, based on early reactions in Guilty Gear X circles), but it’s best to take a look at the changes for ourselves to garner an idea of how they’ll affect feel and flow.

The general gist? Survival seems to have been buffed in Strive. Though certain moves have seen damage increases, overall damage output has been nerfed and thus we may see an extra interaction or two per round moving forward.

That said, it still wouldn’t be the weirdest thing to see unintended touch of death or otherwise overpowered sequences emerge after such a large update; we will certainly know in time, as the player base continue to fully explore Strive in its latest form, how things play out.

We should also note that not every single change is depicted, as some are fairly minuscule and needn’t be shown to be fully appreciated.

Every character is time-stamped in the video below so you can quickly navigate and see those which are of highest priority to you first. Let us know in the comments what you think of this latest Strive patch, along with how you felt it affected your main character(s).

  • Infinite and Beyond mod looks like in motion

Lots of exciting progress has been made on the fan-developed passion project that is Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Beyond. We’ve seen beautiful new graphics implemented into both gameplay and menu screens, updated versions of characters to better fit fan expectations, and more.

Now the mighty Maximilian Dood, who is widely leading the charge on the project, has a bunch of fresh footage featuring players who really know their way around the game.

In his recent upload Max showcases some 20 minutes of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Beyond footage as three players who never really stopped playing Infinite over the last seven years clash.

Infinite and Beyond is still a work in progress, of course, and while there are a few smaller bugs that keen-eyed players may catch in this latest presentation, they do nothing to hamper the palpable momentum and excitement the community has for this mod right now.

Max notes that this demonstration is considerably better than the previous one, which had him worried and stressed thanks to the much higher number of issues he could immediately pick out while watching. The passion and effort are clearly showing through as developers working on the mod are inching ever closer to what we might call a final product.

About 10 of the game’s characters get screen time during the course of the video, and some get more than others. That leaves plenty more Infinite and Beyond roster members for future display, but things are looking great at this point already.

Check out the footage below and then chime into the comments section with your thoughts on the mod. Will you be downloading and playing Infinite and Beyond as soon as it releases, and do you think it stands to affect the legacy of Infinite in a positive way?

  • Capcom updates Street Fighter 6 ranked reset policy for Master players, offers new starting point totals based on previous MR

We have reached the end of yet another ranked reset interval in Street Fighter 6, but things aren’t going to be quite the same for Master-level players moving forward.

Capcom announced early Friday morning that this will be the final reset that Master Rate (MR) points globally reset back to 1500. The next time this happens (presumably on February 1, 2025 given the established three month pattern) MR totals will be scaled based on where players are at at the end of the three month window.

Those who make it up to the 2200’s (which tends to be where people max out) will drop down to around 1700MR, while those who finish the “season” in the mid 1800’s can expect to start in the low 1,600’s after the reset.

Capcom offered a few sample conversions, but we can’t really tease out much of a pattern. The drop from 2200 to 1710 is 490 (about 32%) while the drop from 1850 to 1605 is 245 (about 22%).

The final conversion actually depicts a 15% increase for players who are relatively low, though we note that they will not graduate back up to the 1500MR that has traditionally been the starting base.

Ranked Match Phase 6 starts today, but we’re giving players advance notice regarding changes that will be made to the Master Rate reset design going into effect starting with Phase 7.

Your MR at the beginning of the next Phase will be scaled based on your final MR from the previous Phase.

    Ex.

    MR2200 → MR1710

    MR1850 → MR1605

    MR1200 → MR1410

If you didn’t play in the previous Phase, you will start the new Phase at MR1500.

We expect this change to improve matchmaking between players and pair them with others that are closer to their ability at the start of each new Phase. We will provide more details just before Phase 7 begins.

  • Cloud805’s final Dragon Ball FighterZ tier list reveals drastic changes thanks to Bandai’s 2024 update

Hey, remember Dragon Ball FighterZ? No, not Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, but the other DB-based fighting game from Bandai Namco that, once upon a time, was among the hottest titles amid the FGC.

FighterZ actually got a fairly massive update back at the beginning of September, and thus those who aren’t getting their Dragon Ball fill via Sparking Zero, such as competitor Cloud805, are due for new tier lists.

Those who have been paying close attention might point out that Cloud posted a “final” FighterZ tier list back in February of this year. As we compare his opinions from February with those he holds now, however, it’s clear that Bandai Namco’s alterations were significant.

For instance, only a single character is common to the top five on both lists, and some of roster members that were previously amid the center of the pack have shot out to the top and bottom extremes.

Cloud divides his list across seven categories including top 2 (2 characters), S-tier (12 characters), A-tier (21 characters), B-tier (3 characters), C-tier (2 characters), D-tier (3 characters), and a final lowest tier reserved for just Base Goku (who was eighth from the bottom previously).

Cloud does have a definitive best character in the game, no questions asked, and that’s Vegito Blue. He remarks that he could make an entire video detailing why this super powered fusion of Goku and Vegeta is easily better than everyone else.

The player and content creator does admit that he can see arguments for one other character being the best, but he does not believe them and thus places said character at second overall. You can view the final tier list quickly by clicking the thumbnail to expand it, but you’ll get all of Cloud’s reasonings (along with convenient timestamps) in his full video below.
