  • Mortal Kombat 1 may have a bit of an issue with characters facing the wrong way

No video game ever releases in a perfect state, and from what we’ve been seeing lately, that sentiment can definitely apply to Mortal Kombat 1.

We’ve been witnessing some complaints and examples in MK1 that seems to suggest the game may have an issue with characters not wanting to face the right way.

Akromaniac recently released a fascinating and concerning demonstration video about how fighters don’t appear to turn and face the opponent going over their head until way later than you’d expect.

The video clearly shows Reiko jumping over Sindel’s head, and the queen doesn’t correct her position until just before his foot is about to touch the ground on the opposite side of her.

This doesn’t appear to be just a design choice either, as Akromaniac points out that the issue seems to apply differently across the cast with Sindel’s being the most noticeable for just how long it takes her.

Obviously, that can be bad on its face for not having anti-airs auto correct to the right side and missing completely though there are other complications.

Some players have been posting online that their side-switching combos can drop when they shouldn’t or can suddenly find themselves facing the wrong way, especially in the corner.

It’s going to take some more testing to figure out exactly what’s going on here, but it doesn’t seem very fun to deal with.

NetherRealm Studios already just patched out the bad player 1 advantage bug earlier this week, and things are looking like they still need to work out a few kinks in the gameplay department unfortunately.

  • Sako, Moke, Nuki, Uryo, Santarou, Kishiri, and Go1 release collaborative Street Fighter 6 tier list featuring A.K.I.

More Street Fighter 6 tier lists are being released now that players are feeling more comfortable playing as and against the game’s latest DLC character, A.K.I.

This time, a group of some of Japan’s best competitors have gathered together to create a collaborative Street Fighter 6 tier list that does include a placement for A.K.I. Here is what Sako, Moke, Nuki, Uryo, Santarou, Kishiri, and Go1 think of the current character standings.

This collaborative tier list features only four categories. We have S rank, S-, A, and B rank, with no fighters falling below B here.

These seven top players have placed seven characters up into S rank. As one might expect, we see JP as #1, though some of the other placements are interesting.

Guile, who is often considered top tier but usually not in the top 3 is ranked #2 on their list, and someone like Ken — who is often considered either #1 in the game or #2 — sits at #4 here on this collaborative list.

Most surprisingly, though, we see Chun-Li placed at #3. All of the players involved with this list (short of Kishiri who I could not confirm) play Chun-Li at a very high level, so if there were ever a group of players who knew what they were talking about with this character, it would be them.

Chun-Li is a highly technical character in Street Fighter 6, and her steeper learning curve definitely turned some fans off from playing her early on. However, those who stuck with her continue to explore what all she has to offer, and she does have strong normals, good damage, and some tricky movement options to keep opponents on their toes.

As far as Street Fighter 6’s latest character goes, the gang placed A.K.I. at the very bottom of the list. While this may seem surprising, we did also see Nemo — the #3 ranked A.K.I. in the world — place her as a bottom two character earlier this week as well.

Check out Sako, Moke, Nuki, Uryo, Santarou, Kishiri, and Go1’s collaborative Street Fighter 6 tier list below, and let us know in the comments whether you agree or disagree with their placings.

  • Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition announced, features $255,000 total prize pool

A new major fighting game tournament circuit has been announced this morning. NetherRealm Studios, Warner Bros. Games, and RTS are teaming up to bring fans across the world the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition — a new global eSports program featuring the latest Mortal Kombat title.

This large scale tour will be kicking off later this month, and it is set to feature a $255,000 total prize pool.

“Warner Bros. Games, NetherRealm Studios, and RTS today announced the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition, a new global esports program operated by RTS featuring the latest installment of the iconic Mortal Kombat videogame franchise,” reads the Pro Kompetition’s official press release. “Featuring a $255,000 total prize pool, the new league aims to build an international ecosystem of players and will kick off on Oct. 20 at the East Coast Throwdown fighting game tournament. The Pro Kompetiton will conclude with 20 players competing at the Final Kombat World Championship event in June 2024.”

Qualification for the Final Kombat World Championship will be determined by the global Pro Kompetition leaderboard (players will earn leaderboard points based on their placements) or the Regional League Finals. The tournament standard for the events in the Pro Kompetition will be 1v1 double-elimination.

As previously mentioned, the first stop in the Pro Kompetition will be East Coast Throwdown (ECT), which is taking place on October 20, 2023. Including ECT, there will be four in-person Pro Kompetition partnered events that will allow all players to compete, and these will include Ultimate Fighting Arena in Paris, France (November 24 – 26, 2023), CCXP/Comic Con Experience in São Paulo, Brazil (November 30 – December 3, 2023), and Combo Breaker in Illinois, USA (Spring 2024).

“The Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition will also feature three regional programs comprised of segmented sub-regions, including three online qualifier events and a Regional Final,” the press release further explains. “The three regions include the North American League (North America East and North America West), Interkontinental Kombat (Europe East, Europe West, Oceanic, and Middle East), and Liga Latina (Brazil, Mexico, South America North, and South America South). The top 8 players within each region will punch their ticket to the online Regional Final for a chance to qualify for the Final Kombat World Championship.”

Those who aren’t able to qualify for the finals through the standard means will have the opportunity to try and do so at the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) event. The LCQ will be an open registration, first come first served basis and will cap at 256 players as they compete in a double-elimination bracket.

The Final Kombat World Championship will be doing things a bit differently, though, as once the 20th player is decided for the finals by way of the LCQ, all 20 players will be organized into four groups of five players each to compete in a round-robin tournament format. These groups will be chosen based on regional qualification and leaderboard ranking, and two players from each group will advance to the top 8 for the finals — which will also be a double-elimination bracket.

According to the NRSEsports Twitter account, the 20 player spots for the Final Kombat World Championship will consist of 10 Online Regional Finals winners, the 9 top players on the global leaderboard, and one winner of the Last Chance Qualifier.

More information on the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition are expected to drop soon.

  • Super Hero to Dragon Ball FighterZ as new mod with own moveset

Dragon Ball FighterZ may still be waiting on its big rollback netcode update going on over a year now, but there is some new stuff coming to the game — thanks to the fans at least.

The big and beefy Orange Piccolo can now be played in DBFZ with the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero transformation available as a mod for the fighting game with his own unique move set.

To go along with the release, RCBurrito put together a special trailer offering up a look at what the ascended Namekian can do in action.

Unsurprisingly, Orange Piccolo plays more like a big brawler like Broly over his regular self though his still has some of his own characteristics on display like using his stretchy arms to pull enemies back into his combos mid-string, which is pretty darn cool.

We get to see some rush punches, ground slams, a command grab and what looks to be a Super where Piccolo slowly walks up to the opponent before smacking the crap out of them.

You can check out Orange Piccolo in motion via the video below as well as some screenshots, and you can find more information about the mod and his previous Beast Gohan DBFZ character on RCBurrito’s GameBanana page.

  • Venezuelan cosplayer Jessi Reino slays as bewitching Revenant Kitana, sexy Skarlet and sexier Jade

It’s been really cool to see the love for fighting games on display all around the world, especially when it comes to creative ventures outside of the matches like artwork and cosplay.

Venezuelan cosplayer Jessi ‘Jessacosplay’ Reino has quite the portfolio of work for Mortal Kombat with her bewitching Revenant Kitana, sexy Skarlet and even sexier Jade.

In our time, we’ve probably seen like 1,000 Kitana cosplay in the past, but almost no one attempts to go the extra mile to try and pull off her undead versions.

That extra effort does not go unnoticed here with a really awesome take on the revenant empress’ design from Mortal Kombat 11.

For looking mostly homemade, Reino’s armor work appears pretty top notch in detail and what she was able to pull off.

She’s got the breastplate, shoulders, arm guards, shin guards and even shoes detailed and brought to life.

And it’s all brought together by her skull crown, fans and revenant makeup to look intimidating and enticing at the same time.

Instead of going for her latest incarnation, it seems like Jessi may like the Mortal Kombat 2011 version of Skarlet the best since that’s the incarnation she’s gone with for now.

And it definitely looks pretty darn great as well even if it is a technically more simple design than her complex Kitana.

That’s certainly not a bad thing though.

And last but not least we have Reino’s Jade too.

This one seems to be an even deeper cut than the rest with this cosplay looking the closest overall to Jade’s Mortal Kombat: Deception design though there are some distinct changes that make it stand out.

We just wish there was more of it.

This is far from the only MK cosplay Jessi has put together in the past, as she’s also transformed herself into multiple versions of Mileena that we previously covered too.

If you enjoyed these, there’s more great stuff to be found on Jessacosplay’s Instagram page.

  • Fall Nails 2023: Care Tips And Design Ideas

For the fall of 2023, we’re witnessing a fusion of timeless autumn nail trends with bolder, attention-grabbing nail designs. The popular shimmery chrome finishes that have been prominent in recent months are here to stay, but they are getting a fresh autumnal twist. Instead of glossy, donut-inspired nails and pale milky manicures, this season encourages us to explore syrupy maple-inspired styles and warm, velvety designs.

Embrace the spirit of the spooky season with deep, vampy shades like black and burgundy, longer nail shapes such as coffin or almond, and unexpected details like studs or ombre patterns.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the trend of understated luxury is prompting us to move away from extravagant styles in favor of refined, subtle nail designs, and our fall nails are no exception to this trend. If you believe in the “less is more” philosophy, you’ll appreciate trending autumn ideas like micro French tips and natural nude nails. Shorter nail lengths are also making a comeback, offering a ‘your-nails-but-better’ style.

Maintaining Strong And Healthy Nails During The Fall Season

Just as you give your skin some extra care during the autumn season, it’s important to give your nails some special attention to combat the colder weather. To maintain strong and healthy nails this fall, make sure you have your favorite hand moisturizer readily available to keep your fingertips well-hydrated. Additionally, consider investing in cuticle oil to prevent dryness, enhance nail growth, and safeguard your fresh manicure from chipping.

Speaking of your manicure, autumn is the perfect time to be selective about your nail polish choices. Opt for nail polishes that are vegan and free from harmful chemicals, as these can weaken your nails and potentially pose other risks.

Applying a nail strengthener can also provide your nails with the resilience and protection they require to withstand the chilly weather, all while adding an extra layer of shine for a stunning appearance!

    Fall Nail Ideas and Designs

As the leaves change colors, so can your nails. Some fall nail ideas are delightfully straightforward, while others may seem intimidatingly complex. If you’re not keen on trying intricate designs at home, there’s no harm in entrusting your favorite manicurist with the task. Their expertise can work wonders, and you might just leave the salon with a masterpiece on your fingertips.

But here’s a secret: you don’t have to be a nail artist to rock intricate nail designs. The beauty industry has embraced innovation, offering an array of nail wraps, stickers, and tools that can turn even the most complex designs into an achievable DIY project. These handy resources make it easier than ever to create captivating nail art at home.

  • Nintendo’s Switch successor release date will be September 24, 2024

The Nintendo Switch is a good six and a half years old, prompting many to understandably ask when the Switch 2, or whatever the successor will end up being, might be en route.

A very specific release date started circulating about the internet early on Friday as someone who appears to have insider information claims the new system will be dropping on September 24, 2024.

This comes from a Wccftech report as a Discord user named SoldierDelta (who accurately provided details and screen shots of Team NINJA’s next game, Rise of the Ronin, earlier this year) stated that Nintendo is aiming to release its next console on the aforementioned September 24, 2024 date.

SoldierDelta also shared that there will be two versions of said console, a standard as well as a digital-only model. According to the report, the standard model will run players a whopping $499 while the digital-only shaves off a hundred bucks at $400.

Nintendo has been tight-lipped on their next major endeavor, but the stars do seem to be aligning for a latter half of 2024 release.

Such was the messaging VGC received from inside sources, and Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has publicly stated that the company aims to continue to focus on the Switch until the end of the fiscal year (March 2024) implying that focus would shift as the Switch celebrates its seventh birthday.

We in the fighting game community have to wonder what potential this might mean for the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Though Super Smash Bros. Ultimate saw its last update quite some time ago, fans are still holding out for a possible sequel or Deluxe version, for which there are indeed a handful of intriguing bits of evidence.

For now, we speculate on rumors and alleged leaks like the one from SoldierDelta, and perhaps discuss in the comments below how likely you feel like the next Nintendo console will pop up in late 2024.

Do you hope to see a new Super Smash Bros. or further develop of Ultimate? Let us know below.

Iron Chef Winner Adam Fleischman Accused Of Squatting In Elderly Woman’s Hollywood Home

The restauranteur was reportedly removed from the residence on October 2, 2023 after the vulnerable woman called on a handyman with experience dealing with squatters. Flash Shelton, who previously removed a squatter from his mother’s property, confronted Fleischman about claims he had been living at the home rent-free since May.

He added: ‘It was a dispute that lasted a few months, it’s not like I was there six years. In LA you can’t just pack up and find a new place immediately.’

  • Kim Zolciak’s 911 Call on Kroy Biermann Over Safety Concerns During Divorce Proceedings

    • Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s messy divorce got even messier when Kim called 911 on Kroy, accusing him of taking her two cell phones.
    • Kim and Kroy’s four kids were home at the time of the dispute but were not involved in the argument.
    • The couple’s latest conflict adds to an already complicated timeline of their relationship troubles, including multiple divorce filings and allegations of drug use.

    Here is what happened:

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s divorce has taken a messy turn as Kim recently called 911, accusing Kroy of taking her cell phones. In the 911 call, Kim expressed her feeling of being unsafe and stated that Kroy had locked himself in their bedroom. Police were called to their Georgia home to resolve the dispute, and Kim agreed to sleep in a different room. None of their four children were involved in the argument as they were asleep at the time. This incident adds to the already complicated timeline of their separation.

The former couple initially filed for divorce on May 8, stating that their marriage was irretrievably broken. Kim sought primary physical and joint legal custody of their children, while Kroy requested sole physical and legal custody. They reconciled two months later but were unable to make it work, leading to Kroy filing for divorce a second time on August 24.

In a surprising twist, Kim revealed in legal documents that she and Kroy have been engaging in sexual relations since the filing of the divorce petition, contradicting his claim of an irretrievably broken marriage. She argued that cohabitation or reconciliation shows a possibility of a viable marriage, and therefore, Kroy’s second petition for divorce should be dismissed.

Throughout their divorce proceedings, both Kim and Kroy have made various requests related to custody and property. Kim also alleged that Kroy has been using drugs and requested that he undergo drug testing. The couple’s split has come as a surprise to many, including their former boss Andy Cohen, who believed they were in it for the long haul.

Despite their attempts at reconciliation, the couple’s marriage has ultimately proven unsuccessful. Kroy filed for divorce again, seeking sole custody of their children and requesting child support and alimony. Kim, on the other hand, filed a motion to dismiss Kroy’s second petition, claiming that they are still sleeping together. The divorce continues to be a complicated and messy process for both parties involved.
