  • ‘Doesn’t matter who plays A.K.I. or how you play her, she’s undoubtedly in the bottom tier’ — Daigo Umehara

A.K.I. is the latest DLC character to join Street Fighter 6’s roster. Like many other professional players, BST|Daigo Umehara spent some time trying out A.K.I. before coming to a certain conclusion regarding the character’s viability in Street Fighter 6.

“A.K.I. is definitely not strong, but she’s fun,” said Daigo earlier this month. Another video on FGC Translated’s YouTube channel translated Daigo’s more recent thoughts about A.K.I.

“A.K.I. is really fun, but I think she’s too weak for a new character,” said Daigo. “They can’t mess up a new character since they’ll only update the game once a year.”

“I don’t think once a year is a good idea,” continued Daigo. “I’m sure she would’ve been buffed if she was in the beta.”

Some time later, the chat seemed to indicate to Daigo that A.K.I. was at least better than Ryu, but he wasn’t so sure about this. He then noted that Ryu’s win condition is easier to grasp compared to A.K.I.’s.

As such, he would go on to outright state that Ryu was the better of the two, but would also mention that Ken was better than Ryu. Regardless, Daigo apparently feels disappointed by A.K.I. overall.

“I was hoping all DLC characters would be broken,” stated Daigo. “But look at her and how scared Capcom is…”

“Doesn’t matter who plays A.K.I. or how you play A.K.I., she’s undoubtedly in the bottom tier,” explains Daigo. “She’s so weak. She made me realize how good Ryu was.”

The Japanese pro player would go on to say some other very interesting things about the newly released character in Street Fighter 6. Check it all out in the video below:

  • PR Balrog releases Juri Match up chart for Street Fighter 6

After taking a break and becoming a dad, PR Balrog is back in the competition with Street Fighter 6, but without his boxer, he’s moved on to taekwondo.

Now that his run has started with the Street Fighter League Pro-US, PR Balrog has now released his match up chart for Juri in SF6.

Although she was initially postulated as one of the absolute best in the game, the longtime pro doesn’t have her outright beating anyone on the cast cleanly except for Manon.

PR Balrog does put Juri in the slight advantage against JP, likely due to her movement options to better get around his zoning, as well as some other strong characters like Marisa and Blanka.

Most of the characters are actually about dead even with Juri in his eyes including the other big top tiers like Luke, Ken and Cammy.

That also goes for the DLC characters with Rashid and A.K.I. as well, which some may find a bit surprising.

Overall, he only has Juri losing slightly to two fighters in particular in SF6 season one, can you guess who those are?

You can check out PR Balrog’s full match up chart for Juri below.

  • Simu Liu Unveils Parents Mistakenly Consumed His Recreational Drugs While House Sitting

    • Simu Liu’s parents accidentally consumed edibles in his home, thinking they were snacks, leading to a wild trip and a car accident.
    • Simu’s parents struggled to figure out delivery apps and instead went foraging for food in his home.
    • The incident led Simu Liu to partner with MìLà and receive a PR package of food that his parents promptly devoured.

    Here is what happened:

Simu Liu, star of the movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” recently shared a hilarious story about his parents’ adventures with edibles. While Simu was away, his parents, Zhenning and Zheng, stayed at his California home. Being unfamiliar with delivery apps, they decided to find their own food. Little did they know, they stumbled upon Simu’s stash of edibles, mistaking them for snacks. Simu recalled his mom “foraging around the house for things to eat” and eventually finding what she thought were gummy bears and trail mix. Little did they know, the snacks contained dried mushrooms.

The unsuspecting couple started “popping them like Skittles” but soon realized they were getting hungrier as they ate. Desperate to satisfy their late-night munchies, they hatched a plan to go grocery shopping. However, things took a turn when they crashed Simu’s car into the shrubs in his driveway. In their highly intoxicated state, they were unsure of what to do next. Luckily, no one was hurt, and they managed to get help from one of Simu’s neighbors to drive the car back up to the house.

When Simu returned home, he found his car totaled, his shrubs wrecked, and his drugs gone. He jokingly told his parents that he would never leave them unsupervised in his house again. However, the incident did have a silver lining. The morning after their wild night, a PR package from MìLà filled with soup dumplings and noodles arrived at Simu’s house. His “high and hungry” parents quickly devoured everything in the box, giving Simu the “Asian parent approved” stamp.

Despite the mishap, Simu shared this amusing anecdote during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, providing a humorous insight into his parents’ unexpected adventure with edibles.

  • Mortal Kombat 1 almost topped U.S. game sale charts for September while Street Fighter 6 falls off

It’s pretty much always a really big event in North America when a new NetherRealm Studios fighting game launches, and this year was apparently no exception to that rule.

The NPD Group / Circana recently released the rankings for the top 20 best-selling games for September 2023 in the United States where Mortal Kombat 1 almost lived up to its name for it.

Liu Kang’s new timeline clocked in at number two overall for its first month on the market behind only Starfield.

Both figures are pretty impressive considering MK1 didn’t technically release until the 19th (though was available on early access the 14th) while Bethesda’s new RPG was out basically the whole month but as an Xbox and PC only game that was also available on Game Pass.

On top of that, MK1 also became the 8th best-selling title of all 2023 in the country thus far even beating out Resident Evil 4’s remake and Street Fighter 6, which now sits at 13th for 2023 in the U.S.

This does somewhat put MK1 a bit behind its predecessor considering Mortal Kombat 11 topped U.S. charts back in April 2019 (and even became the best selling game of the year for a time), but the new title’s competition was arguably more stiff this time around.

Interestingly, this also marks the first time Street Fighter 6 hasn’t been on the NPD charts since its June launch where it began life ranked number 3 overall followed by 8th in July and then 13th in August.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been absent the past couple months as well, which means its very consistent run for almost the past 5 years may finally be coming to an end.

Warner Bros. hasn’t stated how many copies MK1 has sold specifically, but it’s likely already in the millions considering they beat out the likes of EA Sports FC 24, Madden NFL 24 and Payday 3 in its first outing.

The game hopefully has a long and successful life ahead of it, but there’s still some fairly big issues Mortal Kombat 1 needs to sort out as well to truly do so.

  • Jussie Smollett Receives Rehab Treatment Amidst Appeal in Alleged Hate Crime Case

    • Jussie Smollett is seeking treatment through a rehab facility’s outpatient program.
    • It is unclear what he is being treated for.
    • Smollett is in the midst of an appeals process after being found guilty in 2021 of making false police reports for an alleged hate crime.

    Here is what happened:

Jussie Smollett, the Empire actor who was found guilty of making false police reports for an alleged hate crime in 2019, is now seeking professional help. According to his representative, Smollett is receiving treatment through an outpatient program at a rehab facility. His rep stated that Smollett has been working hard and taking necessary steps to address his challenges after enduring an extremely difficult past few years. The specific details of his treatment have not been disclosed.

In December 2021, Smollett was found guilty on five of six counts of disorderly conduct for making false police reports. He has been in the midst of an appeals process since then, with his lawyer expressing confidence that the case will be won on appeal. Smollett’s lawyer argued that the verdict was inconsistent, as it claimed both that Smollett was lying and that he was not lying about the same incident.

In March 2022, Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail, along with 30 months of felony probation and monetary fines. However, he was released from jail after just six days upon posting bail, as the ruling on his appeal was still pending. The appellate court granted him a pause in his sentence to allow for completion of the appeals process.

The controversy surrounding Smollett’s case began in January 2019 when he claimed to investigators that he was attacked by two masked men who hurled racist and homophobic slurs at him. However, the Chicago Police later alleged that Smollett had paid two brothers to stage the attack as a hoax. Despite the legal proceedings, Smollett has made public appearances and continued his work in the entertainment industry, recently wrapping up his second feature film as a producer and director.

  • Ed Boon says this cosplayer’s Mileena is ‘Outstanding’ we certainly agree after seeing more of what Melh Alvarenga had to show

Out of all my years of doing cosplay, I’m not sure just how elated I would be to receive praise from the original creator, but I’d probably be over the moon if I had this happen.

Argentinian cosplayer and costume designer Melh Alvarenga recently got some big compliments for her Mortal Kombat 1 Mileena from series Co-creator Ed Boon, and her other great works show she’s far from just a one-hit wonder.

Alvarenga is right at home at an outdoor MK event in her cosplay, and from a technical standpoint, Boon seems absolutely correct in calling her work “outstanding.”

It’s really cool to see this rather complex design come together in real life with all the little belts, armor pieces and accessories that all appear to be pretty much hand-crafted too.

The only negative is she’s only seemingly posted the one photo of her Mileena online so far when we’d love to see a closer and more detailed look.

Luckily, Alvarenga seems to be quite invested in some other characters that Boon has also worked intimately with before with DC and Injustice.

Harley Quinn looks like her big specialty that she’s been honing and updating for a few years now and is super on point.

She doesn’t just stick to one design either, as Alvarenga has done her original Batman: The Animated Series jester outfit up to her more modern Suicide Squad and Injustice incarnations plus everything in between and sometimes a little mix of everything.

It certainly doesn’t hurt that she’s got a pretty badass rendition of Wonder Woman too.

If you enjoyed these, there’s plenty more DC related cosplay to be found on Melh Alvarenga’s Twitter and Instagram pages, and hopefully we’ll be seeing much more of her Mileena soon too.

  • LordKnight unveils new tier list for Guilty Gear Strive Season 3

BC|LordKnight has released a new video detailing his latest tier list for Season 3 of Guilty Gear Strive. At the beginning of the video, LordKnight states that Guilty Gear Strive Season 3 is less balanced compared to the previous version of the game.

Similar to Supernoon’s tier list, LordKnight has also made it a point to rank Johnny, the newest character added to Guilty Gear Strive via DLC. Though LordKnight usually wouldn’t rank a character that’s so new, but he mentions that a ton of people have been playing Johnny since the fighter was released.

Unfortunately for Johnny fans, LordKnight ranks the combatant in the lowest tier category consisting of combatants that are either too normal or are power crept. LordKnight notes that Johnny’s big problem is with his neutral as he is unable to dash block.

Regardless, LordKnight believes that the developers will eventually give Johnny his dash block option in a future patch. As such, he may rise in the tiers with that one change alone.

The other characters that are rated as being among the worst competitively are Zato-1, Potemkin, Testament, and Bedman. Meanwhile, Nagoriyuki, Happy Chaos, Sol Badguy, Ramlethal, and Chip are in the highest tier category.

As indicated in the video, none of the tier categories are intended to be ordered. Check it all out below:

  • Awaiting Confirmation: Wolf Like Me Season 3 Release

“Wolf Like Me” is a comedy-drama series available for streaming on Stan and Peacock, produced in collaboration with NBCUniversal. The show initially debuted on both platforms on January 13, 2022, and in April 2022, Peacock officially confirmed the renewal of the series for a second season.

In Adelaide, Australia, Gary (played by Josh Gad) is a single father, and he resides with his 11-year-old daughter, Emma. The emotional scars from the loss of Emma’s mother, Lisa, who passed away seven years ago, continue to affect both of them. Their lives take a new turn when they encounter Mary (portrayed by Isla Fisher), an advice columnist who is in the process of healing from her own intricate emotional struggles and isolation.

In addition to the provided information, there is a significant curiosity surrounding the highly anticipated “Wolf Like Me” Season 3. This article will delve into the latest updates regarding the upcoming season. We will be exploring the release date for Season 3 and shedding light on the expected cast members for this exciting new installment.

Possible Wolf Like Me Season 3 Release: 2024-2025?

In the upcoming third season of “Wolf Like Me,” Gary and Mary face their most challenging chapter yet as they embark on the journey of parenthood, raising a werewolf pup. This comedy-drama, which made its debut on Peacock in 2022, follows the life of single father Gary, portrayed by Josh Gad of “Frozen” fame, as he grapples with the loss of his wife while raising his daughter.

Awaiting Confirmation: Wolf Like Me Season 3 Release

Gary’s world takes a unique turn when he crosses paths with Mary, played by Isla Fisher, known for her role in “Confessions of a Shopaholic.” However, there’s a twist – Mary happens to be a werewolf. The show has received acclaim for its distinctive blend of comedy and genre, and though the first season was seen as a bit of a slow starter, the comedic duo of Josh Gad and Isla Fisher found their stride by the end of the second season.

With Gary and Mary now navigating parenthood and the possibility of legal complications, the third season of “Wolf Like Me” could prove to be its most intense installment yet if it secures the green light from Peacock.

As of now, Peacock has not officially announced the release date for the third season of “Wolf Like Me,” as the show is yet to be renewed. However, considering that the first season premiered in 2022 and the second in 2023, the gap between them was approximately two years, given the first season arrived in January and the second in October.

If it gets the green light, fans can anticipate the potential release of “Wolf Like Me” season 3 sometime between 2024 and 2025, at the earliest.

Who To Expect In Wolf Like Me Season 3 Cast?

While the official cast for Season 3 of “Wolf Like Me” has not been confirmed, it is widely anticipated that key characters from the first two seasons will make their return.

Isla Fisher is expected to reprise her role as Mary, the werewolf advice columnist, while Josh Gad will likely return as the now-committed father, Gary, and Ariel Donoghue is expected to come back as his daughter, Emma.

Awaiting Confirmation: Wolf Like Me Season 3 Release

As for the remaining cast members in Season 3, there is less certainty. However, it is possible that Emma Lung will return as Gary’s sister-in-law, Sarah, and Anthony Taufa may play her partner, Ray.

The character Trevor, Emma’s psychiatrist, is also likely to be portrayed once again by Alan Dukes. The exact composition of the Season 3 cast will remain speculative until more information about the plot of the upcoming season is revealed.
