Tekken 8’s closed beta test has officially come to a close, which means we’re all going to be waiting another three months to play the game again (unless we get another test period soon).

These rankings aren’t meant to be taken very seriously at all for a multitude of reasons, but it is still interesting to see some thoughts put together for how the early game may be shaping up.
Those of us who got to jump into the action would probably agree that characters like Jun, Feng and Jin are looking pretty strong out the gate though I’d bump up Azucena and Jack-8 too.
Leroy and Asuka ended up at the bottom, but Bryan may be the biggest loser considering he’s not on the list because Fergus said he wasn’t an option when building it.

The netcode is probably going to be a bigger point of contention since we’ve seen a good number of complaints, but personally, I only ran into one match I’d consider laggy against a Wi-Fi user with 5 frames of delay and brought the game to a halt.
There’s also things to be said about the Heat system as well as your general thoughts on how the game is shaping up heading towards its January 2024 release.

Mortal Kombat 1’s been out for just over a month, and it’s already getting some significant changes.
NetherRealm Studios just released the latest update for MK1 that hits the Cyrax Kameo with the nerf hammer, adds a new stage variation for Halloween and brings back a popular feature missing at launch.
Although the patch notes are not out yet, Rooflemonger and others have pointed out that Cyrax’s horizontal spin assist now takes the entire Kameo meter to perform.

This is a pretty huge change for the undisputed best Kameo in the game to eat up double the resources on a move that was crazy good in combos and blockstrings.
That means there’s probably more balance changes as well, but we’ll have to wait for the full breakdown to get the scope of what’s truly different.
