  • From Nemo’s Zangief victory reaction to beautiful Queen Dizzy, fighting games are perfectly captured in Click Burgundy’s portraits

There’s countless amazing artists all around the world who share their love of fighting games through other mediums, but only a few can fully capture the community at large.

Perhaps no one does it better than the fantastic Click Burgundy with portraits for Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive and beyond that are beautifully detailed and not afraid to be funny when appropriate too.

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve highlighted this top tier artist’s work, and the pro has certainly been busy with not just fan works but official ones too.

Click Burgundy has been following the recent Capcom Pro Tour Premier events and celebrating the winners with special pieces like CR|Shuto and his pink Akuma in Singapore and Kusanagi’s Ryu.

He also not only drew up one for DFM|Itabashi Zangief, but an extra version of Saishunkan|Nemo reacting to his rival’s victory with the grappler too.

Beyond SF6, the artist has also recently shared some sweet portraits for Heihachi’s return to Tekken as well as Morrigan before it was hinted that a new Darkstalkers game was once in the works prior to Street Fighter 5.

Queen Dizzy’s grand return to Guilty Gear Strive has also earned a fittingly gorgeous portrait, and it looks like Hungry Clicker is continuing to work officially with Arc System Works too on new desk mats for the game.

Plus, he provided the art for the Guilty Gear X GFuel flavors featuring Sol and Ky.

And we also can’t forget Terry’s recent arrival in SF6 as well as Mai’s reveal for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves — plus some Rival Schools representation after the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 announcement.

You can check out a collection of Click Burgundy’s fighting game art below, and there’s plenty more to be found on the master’s Twitter / X page.

  • Lead Street Fighter 6 actor wished to be Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu 5 years before landing the role and forgot about it

Despite some of the initial impressions regarding Luke, Aleks Le managed to turn the perception around on the new Street Fighter 6 protagonist thanks to his humor and charm as the character’s English voice actor.

Le is now taking on the mantle of Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series, which is something the actor wished for over five years ago before Luke was ever revealed.

Although he’s not in the actual games (yet) as the Dragon of Dojima, Aleks recently revealed he portrays Kiryu in the Like a Dragon: Yakuza live action series.

He’s part of the pretty high profile English dubbing cast that includes Matthew Mercer as Goro Majima, who you may recognize as Resident Evil’s Leon S. Kennedy and Guilty Gear’s Zato-1 among many other roles, and Johnny Yong Bosch as Akira Nishiki, who Capcom fans should know as the voice of Nero in Devil May Cry, Zero in Marvel vs. Capcom and now Dante in the upcoming Devil May Cry anime.

What’s funny about this too is Le apparently posted online all the way back in August 2020 that “I wish I was Kiryu Kazuma.”

That post has obviously come back up now because of the obvious relevance after fans rediscovered it, but Aleks responded that he apparently “straight up forgot” about the tweet.

Le also shared some clips of his work and some of the thoughts put into his portrayal of Kiryu.

For the younger version of Kiryu, the actor says he tried to match Ryoma Takeuchi’s energy while taking things in a bit of a different direction for the older version of the character.

There Le says he tried to capture Takaya Kuroda’s more laid back attitude mixed with Darryl Kurylo’s grit from the original Yakuza game.

Aleks is obviously a lot more than just Luke and Kiryu too as one of the seemingly fastest growing talents in voice acting with Demon Slayer’s Zenitsu, Dragon Ball Super’s Gamma 1, Persona 3 Reload’s protagonist, Solo Leveling’s Sung Jin-woo, Final Fantasy 7’s Sonon and more under his belt.

Plus, he already technically got to be in the Yakuza universe as Eiji Mitamura in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

You can check out a couple of Le’s scenes as Kiryu below for the new Amazon series to hear for yourself.

  • Nen Impact and he’s here to play ball

Hunter x Hunter’s first major fighting game may have been delayed out of 2024, but they still have some more characters to show off to help hold fans over.

Arc System Works and Bushiroad Games just debuted the gameplay trailer for Razor in Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact.

Despite his size, the Greed Island Game Master is shown to have quite a bit of range and mobility as well between his long limbs, quick slide and volleyball skills.

A big part of Razor’s gameplay is going to revolve around his Aura Ball Nen powers for a strong projectile plus an apparent receiving stance with multiple follow-up options.

Plus, he can also summon his 14 Devils to assist him in battle with combos to pass the ball and set up traps.

Razor will be one of the 16 characters included on the base roster, and while we know all of their identities now, we’re still waiting on trailers for Morel and Kite at least.

Nen Impact was recently pushed to next year to implement rollback netcode into the game, and ArcSys says they’re also going to be using the time to fine tune the system mechanics and characters.

Hunter x Hunter is now set to launch in 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

You can check out the full trailer for Razor as well as some actual gameplay match footage and his character card below.

  • Queen Dizzy’s starter guide plus move list released for Guilty Gear Strive and she has one of Justice’s attacks

After years on the sidelines, the queen of Guilty Gear is finally about to return, and hopefully she’ll be worth the wait.

Arc System Works just dropped the official starter guide and move list for Queen Dizzy ahead of her release in Guilty Gear Strive, and she inherited a bit more from her mother it seems.

Some moves like I Used This to Catch Fish (yes they kept the old special names) put the opponent into a frozen state that immobilizes them for a few seconds or until they’re hit and causes heavier knockback.

She can also combine that with her Ice Field to make the ground slippery when the enemy tries to move or is knocked down.

The queen has retained a good chunk of her specials from Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 including For Roasting Chestnuts and We Talked a lot Together too, but she’s also missing others like For Searing Cod, I Used This to Pick Fruit, We Fought a lot Together, For Putting out the Light, The Light was so Small in the Beginning, Please Leave me Alone and What Happens When I’m too Alone.

To help make up for that, ArcSys is also giving her a couple of technically new tools that should be quite interesting.

Dizzy has fully gained the Michael Sword special that once belonged to Justice.

Like mother, like daughter it seems

Technically, she could already use this move, but only the EX version of Dizzy in the Guilty Gear XX games, which looked different — so this one is closer to her gear mother’s ability.

What even more intriguing and potentially quite scary, however, is Dizzy’s previously boss-only version attack in Wings of Light can now be used as a regular special.

Wing of Light constantly drains the enemies health even through blocking along with her own Tension Gauge until it runs out, and it’s shown doing quite a huge chunk of damage if she’s got a lot of meter to burn.

But the downside of the move is setting it up since it seems to take a full around 10 seconds to activate before they start sucking health away.

Michael Sword is a big slashing attack that’s quick on the Slash version while the Heavy Slash version is slower on startup but appears to basically hit from full screen.

Dizzy also retains Imperial Ray and Gamma Ray as her Overdrive attacks with the latter still taking 100% Tension to activate.

The startup does faster than before and is shown to take off over half of Sol’s health in one shot.

Dizzy is slated to release as the first new DLC character of Strive Season 4 on October 31, and she’ll be accompanied by a big balance update to the rest of the roster too.

You can check out the full starter guide for the queen as well as her move list below.

  • Thanos actually has the full Infinity Gauntlet with all of its powers at once in the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite & Beyond mod

The Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite & Beyond mod project is shaping up to be something special to hopefully breathe new life into the crossover fighting game that’s been long abandoned by the original developers.

One of the more interesting additions and changes showcased during the recent Infinite & Beyond Direct presentation was Thanos actually receiving the Infinity Gauntlet.

That’s right, the mod team gave him the full gauntlet, which comes with its own unique buffs for the mad titan.

Now Thanos has access to all six of the Infinity Stone powers that he can freely switch between in battle, so he’s not just limited to the one Surge ability chosen at the character select screen.

This means he could theoretically toss out a Reality Stone projectile, dash in with the Time Stone and try and land the Mind Stone command grab within seconds.

While the gauntlet does give him all of the regular powers, it does not give the titan each Storm activation to choose from, so he’ll still just have the regular version on that front.

Does this sudden addition of five more options suddenly make Thanos busted?

Maximilian says that after months of testing with top-level Marvel players, it does not at all.

The Infinity Gauntlet does make him a bit better overall, but more importantly, it makes him more fun, according to Max.

It does make us kinda wish, however, there was a special boss version of Thanos that had all of the Infinity Stones in the base game as well.

Technically, they’ve already been working with Thanos having all of the stone powers in the Beyond mod for a while, but now they have the actual gauntlet in there to complete it on a visual front.

Obviously, there’s a lot more going on with the MvC mod beyond Thanos too with an updated UI, new music, new character portraits and new costume colors all making hteir way into the ambitious project.

They’ve also added some really cool new crossover menu artwork from community artists to give the game more of a fun vibe too.

Even after six months and presumably thousands of combined work hours between the team, more work needs to be done before Beyond is ready for a public release on the PC version of Marvel Infinite — and we really hope the project makes it to the finish line.

You can check out the new Thanos in action below in Max’s video, which picks up around 40 minutes in if it doesn’t start there automatically.

  • Ultimate Fighting Championship scene recreated masterfully in Tekken 8

Tekken 8 is one of those type of fighting games that tries to incorporate real world martial arts techniques whenever possible. Of course, there are plenty of instances in which combatants are able to utilize more fantastical abilities, such as the Electric Wind God Fist, but many attacks are based on actual moves in the real world.

As such, it isn’t unfathomable to think that a scene from Ultimate Fighting Championship could be recreated in Tekken 8. Needless to say, The Amazing Robin was able to do just that based on a certain match.

While the two opponents are sizing each other up, one of them goes for a kick. This gets blocked, resulting in both fighters readjusting their spacing from one another.

The same aggressor from before then opts to try to surprise the other with a spinning backfist. This also gets scouted and blocked, which seemingly gives the impression of an opening.

However, we then see the combatant spin the other way with yet another spinning backfist. This one seems to land a clean hit, resulting in the opponent immediately crumbling.

It’s actually quite incredible seeing this scene play out both in real life and in Tekken 8. They end up matching pretty well.

  • Some of the wildest custom battles fans have come up with in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was released not too long ago. Within the game, there are a number of interesting “What If” scenarios that unveils how differently the story plays out when Gohan keeps up with his training or Trunks participates in the Tournament of Power, just to list a couple of examples.

However, it’s also interesting to note that there exists a Custom Battle mode within Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero that allows players to tell their own unique stories. Though the functionalities of Custom Battle are rather rudimentary, fans have been… creative with the stories that they are attempting to tell with this mode.

Of course, there’s been this meme floating around that suggests that Base Form Cabba would be capable of overpowering even SS4 Gogeta. Since Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is the first game in which these two characters are both actually playable, there are a number of Custom Battle creations centered around this supposedly epic battle.

Funnily enough, there are also numerous scenes in which characters act very differently compared to how they normally would. These type of stories appear to be more focused on humor rather than good story telling.

There’s another creation that showcases what would happen if Trunks sought help against Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black during the Dragon Ball GT timeline rather than the Dragon Ball Super one. It’s an interesting story that has Goku and Vegeta, in their SSJ4 forms instead of their Super Saiyan Blue transformations, fighting against the threat of Trunks’ timeline.

Finally, there are some interesting stories that are intended to give the player a real challenge. Through the Custom Battle mode, it’s possible to apply some interesting modifiers that make characters more difficult than they’d normally be.

  • Evo France 2025 game lineup has been revealed

The Evo France 2025 lineup has been revealed. In total, there will be six mainstage games playable at the event.

Of course, the first game is Street Fighter 6. As usual with Evo events, Street Fighter 6 will likely have the highest number of entrants registered to compete.

Tekken 8 will also be one of the main games that players can compete at this year at Evo France 2025. We’re expecting Tekken 8 to have the second highest number of entrants due to the general popularity of the Tekken series.

Guilty Gear Strive is the third game revealed for the Evo France 2025 lineup. Notably, Guilty Gear Strive recently had its Season 4 roster revealed, so it’s possible we might have a new character trailer at the event.

Dragon Ball FighterZ has been announced as the fourth game at the event. Though DLC was wrapped up a good while ago, the developers continue to support the game with events and balance patches.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is the fifth game that will be present at Evo France 2025. Needless to say, there’s a good possibility that more DLC will be showcased at some point during the tournament.

The sixth and final game in the Evo France 2025 lineup is Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. This game is slated to be released worldwide on April 24, 2025, so fans should have plenty of time to practice before the big event.

It’s also worth mentioning that Kim Dong Hwan just got announced for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in celebration of the Evo France 2025 announcements this morning. We now know that the base roster will launch with 17 playable characters.

Evo France 2025, the first Evo event being held in Europe, has been scheduled to begin on October 10, 2025 and last until October 12, 2025.

  • City of the Wolves in new gameplay trailer

Kim Dong Hwan has been revealed in a new gameplay trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. We get a pretty good glimpse of his moveset as he unleashes attacks against Kevin Rian.

As a practitioner of Taekwondo, Kim Dong Hwan is shown only performing kicks within the trailer. Eventually, he begins generating electricity with his most powerful attacks.

He is the son of Kim Kaphwan and the older brother of Kim Jae Hoon. Of his family, Kim Dong Hwan tends to be the most cocky fighter.

  • Ludovic shares new Chun-Li Street Fighter 6 match up chart, places her at mid-high tier on the tier list

Another match up chart for Street Fighter 6 Season 2 has hit the internet. This time, we are given insights into a character that we haven’t heard a lot about lately due to other, stronger characters taking the limelight.

THG|Ludovic is a longtime Chun-Li main and most recently tied for 17th at the incredibly stacked major Street Fighter 6 event, East Coast Throwdown 2024. Lud’s new match up chart for the first fighting female of Street Fighter tells the tale of how Chun-Li does against each fighter on the current SF6 cast including newest DLC character, Terry Bogard.

Ludovic organizes this match up chart into the following categories: Good (Chun-Li wins), Kinda Good (slightly wins), Even, Some Struggle, Bad, and Give Up.

In the top category, Good, we see that Lud has placed four different fighters comfortably there. Jamie, E. Honda, Kimberly, and Terry Bogard all appear to be strong matches on the Chun-Li side, and most of these characters (and depending on who you ask, all) are on the lower end of the tier list right now.

Chun also appears to do fairly well against the likes of Ryu, Manon, and the highest tier placer so far on this list, Dee Jay. However, her even match ups seem to be where she shines most.

In Street Fighter 6, Ludovic feels that Chun-Li can go toe-to-toe with several of the characters many people consider to be among the strongest in the game. Ed, Akuma, Rashid, M. Bison, and Ken are all seen often in the top 5 with some instances of them being #1 in the entire game, and Juri is also a very strong contender who is no stranger to being placed in the game’s top 10.

Going even with some of the best characters in Season 2 is definitely a good place to be in, and Lud noted that overall he feels that Chun-Li sits about mid-high tier on the tier list.

Check out the full Street Fighter 6 match up chart below, and let us know in the comments if you agree or not.
