  • The University of Calabar has announced Friday, January 29, 2016 as resumption date for the 2015/2016 Academic Session. This information was posted on the school portal www.unical.edu.ng, therfore it’s valid.

    While all freshmen will be expected to resume on the above scheduled date, returning students will be expected on Campus as from Monday, February 1, 2016.

    A release signed by the Institution’s Registrar, Mr. Moses Abang indicates that payment of school charges and registration for freshmen will commence from Monday, 1st February, 2016 and end on Friday, February 12, 2016.

    The release further states that lectures for freshmen will commence on Monday, 15th February, 2016, while the orientation exercise will begin on Wednesday, 24th February, 2016 and run till Friday, 26th February, 2016.

    Freshmen and all returning students are advised to see their respective Faculty and Departmental Notice Boards for details of the Academic Calender or visit the web page Academic Calendar for 2015/2015 for details

    Meanwhile, all newly admitted students are expected to pay an acceptance fee of N15,000.00 only at Unical Micro Finance Bank (UMFB) with A/C No. 0110416443 and Union Bank A/C No. 0040986532.

  • UNICAL expels nine and suspends four over examination malpractice and misconduct

    As the school reopens for a new session, the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced the expulsion of nine students and as well suspended four over various cases of examination malpractice and misconduct.
    This was contained in a post made on the University’s official website on Tuesday, 19th January, 2016.
    The nine expelled students were found guilty of impersonation while two others were suspended indefinitely for failing to appear before the panel and failing to produce another student suspected to be involved in examination malpractice respectively.
    The remaining two students were suspended for one academic session having been caught with extraneous materials in the examination hall. According to the post, the sanction is with effect from the 2014/2015 academic session. The list was published on the university’s official website.
    This announcement was made to notify new and returning students over the law/rules governing examination malpractice/misconduct and the penalty involved.

  • CRUTECH Alumni Holds Mentorship Program on Jan 30th, 2016 with theme as ‘Mentorship; A Panacea For Success’

    The alumni association of the Cross River University of Technology says it is set to hold a one day mentorship program in its bid to aid the public key into the opportunities available in the face of economic strains resulting from dwindling oil prices.

    The program scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2015 has as its theme “Mentorship; A Panacea For Success” and will hold at the Varsity’s ETF hall in the Calabar campus.

    This is contained in a statement signed by the national Public Relations Officer of the Association, Inyali Peter who pointed out that “this is the first of many programs designed by this administration to add value to the institution and the society at large.”

    According to the statement, the program aims at ensuring members of the association, its intending members and the general public “see the need to be mentored by the right hands in order for them to be successful in their respective legal businesses”.

    Also, the statement further pointed out that, “many young men and women have in the past failed in achieving their dreams due to the lack of proper mentorship, attending the program will aid them understand better, the role of a mentor especially as the world is yet to recover fully from the global economic shock of 2008 coupled with the dwindling revenue to oil producing nations as a result in the sharp decline of crude oil prices.”

    The program which is billed to start at 12 noon will have the Vice Chancellor of the varsity, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh as the keynote Speaker, with Associate Professor Walter Mboto of the Sociology Department in the University of Calabar and Pastor Josef Lapito as Guest Speakers.

    The statement also enjoined participants to be seated before noon.

    The University of Calabar has announced that all the candidates who applied and sat for their Post-UTME can now visit the school website www.unical.edu.ng to check for their names.

    Steps on how to check for your names:


    1. First you will have to visit the school website from here. www.unical.edu.ng.
    Enter your jamb reg number or download the PDF copy.

    2. Or you can check your result from jamb.org.ng.
    By clicking on check admission status on jamb website. Wait for the page to load up and you will see a box where you will enter your reg number. Click on check admission status and wait for your result to appear.

    3. The third and finally way to know if your name appeared on University of Calabar admission list is to visit the school premises. Ask for where you can find the school notice board. Once you get there search for your selected faculty and look up for your department. Check your name and that is all.
