  • Lily Williams Foundation, A Timely Rescue To Our Generations – Emmanuel Idris

They say action speaks louder than words. And yes, we agree with that. For many always says, Kids are adorable. They are the fruits of a happy home. But, how many do care as their words?

Children, everyone calls them leaders of tomorrow, but no one is willing to make them one. That’s my point!

Let’s read what Lily Williams Foundation did that’s is outstanding. Also, Emmanuel Idris, one of the contributors talks to Calabar Reporters saying:

On Monday I volunteered to assist the Lily Williams Foundation as they  took their Charity Work(s) to Ogoja. The excercise which started in Mbube on monday, finished covering all the villages there. I saw many things, I saw poverty at its peak. Children who couldn’t afford to pay school fees of a thousand five hundred naira(#1,500).

The little girl in the first photo with the young man broke me down today. She passed the interview and was considered for the scheme. She was asked the name of her father, she tried saying the name but ended up weeping profusely “My Father Is Dead” It  took a while to get her back.

The next girl who scaled through the interview, she was strong enough to say her father was dead, and she stayed with her sick mother who is not strong enough to work. The Lily Williams Foundation visited the mother, gave her some money and promised to take care of her medicare, her child’s education  et al.

Emmanuel continued; I saw intelligence, I was one of those with the notion that “Children From Public Schools Are Always Dull” But, after these three days of combing primary schools in Mbube, I took that back.

Emmanuel Idris also said the Foundation will continue to other parts of Ogoja and if his schedule permits, he will go along with them.

See other photo of the good work Lilly Williams Foundation is doing and how they are putting a smile back on sad faces again.
