  • Cross River State Future, Embedded in the ‘Signature Projects’ By Inok Solomon

Cross River State Monarchs drums support for Governor Ayade

Apart from our resource potentials as a State, Tourism had been the centre piece of subsequent administrations. Though some say, we lack continuity and focus to our destination and picture a dark future.

Most times when we press the ‘Reset Button’ on our devices, what we encounter is not an environment for Hardware changes but the Software. These software are the basic programs that tells the hardware what to do.

When these settings are made, the future working of such a device is reset to drive the hardware functionalities.

Today, many are yet to understand the depth of the Reset instructions keyed into our state economy through the Signature Projects of Hopes and Deep Visions.

Donald Duke, introduced the Carnival Calabar Software, to attract fun lovers into the state, and open up the Ranch Resort to provide comfort of our hospitality heritage. Not just that, TINAPA came to boost economic activities and create businesses that create passive income.

Today, the glorious songs of Duke are on the lips of every Cross Riverians but the Software are corrupted by the following Virus; lack of citizens participation, corruption, political aggrandisement, poor financial and economic knowledge, boom of the Oil wealth era and lack of economic recession.

We where in Egypt so to say, and now in the wilderness of Recession. Best times for system overhauling and economic opportunities. How then can the Signature Projects be the key to our Economic overhauling and reengineering?

GARMENT FACTORY: It is a known fact that Clothing is one of man’s basic needs apart from Shelter and Food. And Fashion is among the world highest income generating industries. It is a perfect Industry for our tourism potentials as its create an environment for talent and skill development and entrepreneurial spirit.

Fashion Shows are a great attraction to the world fashion designers, ‘beauty is siad to be tourism and tourism is beauty,’ so such occasion will keep our tourism centres fully functional. The Calabar Int’l Conference Centre CICC, will best be a hosting venue. TINAPA market potentials will serve as a meeting point for buyers and sellers.

Apart from sorting for patronage outside the state, every year, we spent Billions of Naira on Carnival customs, and every four years, Billions get out to finance Campaign wears. Yet our population is dominated by jobless youths.

THE DEEP SEAPORT, many Cross Riverians can still recall the economic boom that played in the state when some few rejected Cargo Ship landed EPZ. It was myriad upon myriad of opportunities from the Barrow pushers to the managers, administrators, lawyers, engineers doctors etc. When all these groups of people come in, including the importers and exporters business Tycoons. It can just be describe as, Myriads upon myriads of opportunities for our tourism and resource potentials.

SUPERHIGHWAY, the most oral project in recent times with a clear purpose of recreating oneness of the state in terms of road network. The linking of the entire state with such a road alone is tourism attraction in itself, not to talk about the ease of movement which had for the time past crippled business activities in the state.

Practically, being the evacuation route to the Deep Sea Port, it provides equal opportunities to all part of the state as investors can site facilities in any part of the state to reduce cost when congestion starts in the future. With the boost of economic activities and closeness of these activities to the people of Cross River, our mind sets will be redirected to Cash Flow ventures instead of Civil Service, Federal allocations, Pension Funds, Mutual Funds all to keep the rich richer and the poor, poorer.

Ayade landing in Cross River, will keep Cross River ahead of many other states and continue to change mentality from Political poverty, Political Thuggery, searching for jobs instead of creating jobs, poor bargains for our Talents, Skills and Resources.

  • Don’t tell me to live below my means: when you keep me from exploiting my riches to the full

    By Inok Solomon

The worst financial fairy tale in the old and modern times, is the concept, “Live below your means.” Economist will say, “The end justify the means.” How justified will the end be when the means are exploited below expectation of a person? Parents will say to their children, “Go to school and get a good job.” “Work hard and save.” For what reasons? To live below your means?

I think these words are dreams killers, mental imprisonment and complete derivatives of poverty. It has become a part of us, eating deeper into our mental consciousness and setting limitations and doubts in our personal abilities.

By the way, who enjoys living below their means? Who enjoys poverty and self-imposed recession? Is it a fact that most people don’t want to live a full, rich, and abundant life? Life of infinite progress and plenty?

Have you ever run a race, or worked at utmost capacity for a protracted period, or swum a great distance? Remember how, soon after starting, you began to feel tired? Remember how, before you had gone any great distance, you thought you had reached your limit?

But remember, too, how, when you kept going, you got your second wind, your tiredness vanished, your muscles throbbed with energy, you felt literally charged with speed and endurance? Then you win and determine your world according to your desires. You control that achievement with all the greatness attached to it. At that point you become greater than all, both the rich and poor identify with you and desire you.

Stored in every human being are great reserves of energy of which the average individual knows nothing but rather run under the pretense of “Living below ones means.”

These words keep many people financially poor, emotionally empty, and spiritually neutral. One author said, “If you look into the deeper meaning of these words, you can come up with multiple meanings, such as “Don’t desire the finer things of life,” or, “You can’t have what you want.” This creates an atmosphere of Hatred, Jealousy, Envy, Covetousness and War.

It is said, “Take away a man’s dreams and you take away his life.” You may never reach the stars, but they will guide you on your path through life.

Cross Riverians, Ayade dreams are truly designed to take us to the stars, and no Cross Riverians will be forced again to live within the concept of “Living Below their means.” We will create wealth and determine the direction of wealth in our Ideas. Never again will we keep forcing our young generations to live below their means and kill their abilities to exploit and expand and create instead of waiting to be given.

    Governor Ayade till the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jiji.ng, the best Nigerian store for Buying and Selling

Some products you can buy or sell at Jiji.ng

Currently our beloved country, Nigeria is in recession and I don’t have to tell you that mere looking at things and people around you. No one is happy, even the celestial bodies are murmuring, for sometimes we couldn’t find the moon. Our crops and animals are not faring well which in turn has affected the commodity market as Rice, Yams, Garri, Ram, Tomatoes and other products have been inflated. There is no flow of money as its circulation is now static; some people are questioning the fact that if we’re going back to the days of trade by barter, but I think we’re not, instead we’re moving into a different dimension where our worries would be treated at ease.

Ever wondered when all these so called economic recession, downturn is going to end? Don’t even try to think about it, for if you do, you’re giving yourself more worries. As for me, I don’t think it’ll stop in the next ten years; yes I said, 10 years. Therefore, we ought to live with it, try to cut down our expenses, avoid irrelevant commodities, sell things you don’t need if possible; and that’s where you need Jiji.ng.

I’d used so many online shops (stores) in Nigeria where they do buying and selling, i.e., if you want to sell your fairly used, second hand or presumably new product or if you want to buy a second hand, fairly used or new product for your convenient sake and at a cheaper rate. All which names I will not mention neither failed, unable to meet the market demands, folded up nor cease to exist due to lack of resources, experience, scam, and trust issues. But ever since I started using Jiji.ng so many years ago, they’ve never failed me, and with their wide range of coverage, I sell my products at a faster rate and I buy in vitro too.

Jiji.ng has help me in so many situations where I needed money and I have to trade one or two things for the bucks; like my iPhone, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, Brogues, Dell Inspiron PC, and so many more. They have always and will forever be the best when it comes to selling your fairly used products. Also, I bought my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which am currently using from Jiji.ng at an affordable rate. So what are you waiting for, get your product (s) ready and start posting.

Oh, are you finding it difficult to sell your craft? I’ve introduced so many craftsmanship to Jiji.ng, ranging from Artists, Painters, Ankara makers and more, they are thanking me today as they now sell their products with ease. Additionally, a guy I introduced few weeks ago told me he sold his Toyota corolla S at even a higher price tag he put on it before. Reading this post, all you need is Jiji.ng.

How to sell or buy from Jiji.ng:
Visit http://jiji.ng on any device, whether a computer, a mobile phone or a tablet, you’ll get the same experience at even a faster speed as their website and mobile application is responsive.

To sell: Just take about 2-4 photos of your product, create an account with jiji.ng to enable you track, make changes and see how your listing is performing; then add a title of what you want to sell (brief and eye catching title will be superb); add a detailed description of your product (including how long you’ve used it, stating whether it’s faulty or not plus the basic specifications); add your price (you can choose the price to be negotiable or not, it’s all your choice); add your location (where buyers can locate you) and lastly, add your phone number (preferably your mobile number so buyers can easily reach out to you) and you’re done. Just wait for your listing to be approved by Jiji.ng, then an email will be sent to you that your listing or post or article have been approved. If not approved, do the necessary things required of you by the Jiji.ng team and resubmit for approval. Viola! You’ll start receiving calls and messages on the go if you did the right thing and there you are, behold your product have been sold. Congratulations. Remember to delete your listing in your account section whenever you sell your product, else you’ll still be getting calls about the products.

To buy: There’s no hassle if you want to buy from Jiji.ng, all you have to do is log onto the above website and search for what you want buy and then contact the person. Then assess the product(s), agree on price and other terms, then pay the cash at hands and the product is yours. Remember to search your locations for the product you want to buy to avoid taking risk of sending money for product that will never reach you. For instance, wanting to buy a product whose seller is based in Lagos while you’re in Calabar. Avoid taking such risk.

  • Cross River State not about to lose $30 Million World Bank Fund

    By Inyali Peter

Few days ago, I did an article with the headline ” Ayade’s Greed : C’River Set to Lose $30 Million World Bank CADP Investment”. I deliberately refused to publish the article in traditional media for some obvious reasons.

In the article, I stated that the state is set to lose the $30 million investment because of the governor’s refusal to approve list of successful candidates for training as some of his preferred candidates who are mostly his family members didn’t make the screening.

But yesterday, a friend drew my attention to the reaction of the State government and the CADP state Project Coordinator, Mr. Ducham Amah which was published my Thisday and other online and print Newspapers.

In the reaction, the government and Amah jointly said that what the state got was $26.5 million not $30 million for the five years investment scheme. They may be right because during my investigation into the activities of the CADP, I was unable to get reliable information on the exact amount accrued to the state. So I decided to divide the $150 million value of the project in Nigeria by five states benefiting from the investment which I arrived at the $30 million.

Also, Amah said that the governor released the list two months ago but they are waiting for the release of funds from the world bank to commence training.

The report equally detailed that they candidates will be trained in Songhai farms and that the $26.5 million given to the state has been used therefore if world bank release funds for the training of the next and last batch in the current agreement, there will be nothing to take back as I stated in my report.

The explanation to the best of my knowledge can be best described as half truth. If the State Coordinator is not in connivance with the government to syphon the money, he should answer the following questions:

    1. Why has it taken longer than before to publish list of successful candidates?

    2. As stated in the report, why did they send the list to the state house of assembly for input after the screening?

    3. How would they train candidates in the Songhai farms that is currently moribund?

    4. Is every value chain trained in Songhai farms?

    5. How many Cross Riverians have benefitted from the program so far since it inception and where are their businesses?

    6. We’re in October, two months to the expiration of the current deal, what is the management and the state government doing to renew the deal?

    7. How can they (Government and CADP Management) convince us that the process and funds will be released within the two months duration of the program?

Let me stop here for now pending when the government and Amah will react again. But they must know that I’ll investigate everything about CADP investment in Cross River to a logical conclusion.

  • What Is Ankara And What Is Ankara Bag?

The fashion is a very flexible thing that is changing all the time. Along with changing, it also makes up some new trends and styles, comes up with using new kinds of fabrics, materials, and accessories. Sometimes, they are accepted by the society, sometimes not – and in some rare cases they turn out to be a nation’s treasury. This is exactly what happened to the Ankara style.

    The History
Even though the Ankara has originally come from Europe, the peak of its popularity and admiration was mainly seen in the Western Africa. The thing is that the material was primarily associated with Africa due to its tribal-like patterns and motifs. And even though, the Ankara fabric was originally manufactured by the Dutch and was directed on the Indonesian market, it has gathered much more interest among Africans. The raise of its glory came in 2010 and henceforth the Ankara is considered as something traditional for the people of Africa.

    The Print

Due to its cultural motifs, Ankara fabric has got a universal acceptance all around Western Africa, especially in Nigeria. It is featured with the bright colors, mixed in various shapes and prints that provide one with the feeling like you are in a wild Africa, with all those giraffe and zebra prints on them.

    The Price

One of the reasons of such a great Ankara’s popularity in Africa is that it is much cheaper than the traditional native fabrics, and even than the Chinese ones. For example, such widely-known African fabrics as Aso Oke are used for special occasions only, but Ankara is affordable for everyday use.

    The Ankara Bags

Due to its traditional motifs and affordable fabric prices, the Ankara style has spread for almost every item of one’s wardrobe. Starting with the dresses, blouses, skirts, trousers, shoes it has spread onto such clothing accessories as earrings, necklaces, and bags. People have invented their own methods of making Ankara bags at home and started selling them online. Today, it is easy to find all kinds of Ankara bags on sale at the most affordable prices and with a special opportunity to contact the sellers directly asking them about the technology of sewing these kinds of bags.

    Making Your Own Ankara Bags

For those who want to set up their own business or just need some extra source of income – it is worth considering an idea of making your own Ankara bags and selling them on one of the top reliable online markets in Nigeria – Jiji. The best way to start and check whether the business will work is to look around your home, find the unnecessary old bags and clutches, purchase Ankara fabrics on Jiji and create Ankara bags right at your home. Then make a picture of your creation, put an ad on Jiji – the picture together with a description of your bag and how much all African ladies will like it – and wait for your first customer to give you a call.
