One of Gov. Ben Ayade's developmental projects, the Calabar Monorail, has been tipped for extension from Tinapa, Africa's premiere business and leisure resort, to the Convention Center built by the Liyel Imoke administration to and finally to the Margaret Ekpo International Airport.

In lending his voice of support to the project, Cross River-born US-based Development Consultant and well respected public affairs analyst, Princewill Odidi, held that:

'Extending the Monorail from Tinapa-Convention Center to Calabar Airport is a policy in the right direction.

We pray the route to the airport will pass through the MM Highway, and through Calabar town before the airport. Passing through the town is
important so that at least the local people can benefit from the rail line.

It is important a development project of this nature touches the lives of ordinary people so it does not end up an elite project for elite accessibility.

Wise thinking and impressive thought to State government.'

The position by Odidi is important seeing the degree of face off between the governor, his critics and disenchantment with the masses. How I pray that this move will see the limelight of day. Truth be told, the project as conceived will be one in the best direction.
