Newly promoted Hull City thrash Champions Leicester City in EPL first match of 2016/2017 season

A stunning victory for Hull City this afternoon, given their summer of turmoil as they have defied the odds to beat the defending Champions Leicester City for the first time since February 2016 through strikes from Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgrass.

The Tigers had gone into the match hit by injuries and the summer departure of Steve Bruce, the manager, but they shook off those issues to hand a defending champions a defeat in their opening match of the next season for the first time in the Premier League.
