New Tekken Talk Live presentation announced for February 20, aims to reveal Tekken 8's post-release content roadmap

If you’re hoping to learn more about what’s coming next for Tekken 8, you won’t have to wait much longer. Bandai Namco has announced a new Tekken Talk Live presentation that is set to take place on February 20 and will provide viewers with more information on the future of the game.

The official Tekken Twitter page sent out a tweet this morning officially announcing the upcoming broadcast. For this show, the developers will be focusing on revealing and discussing the post-release content roadmap for Tekken 8.

From the Tekken team, we’ll be seeing director Katsuhiro Harada, producer Michael Murray, producer Kohei Ikeda, and chief producer Naoya Yasuda sit down and chat to unveil what’s next for Tekken 8.

“Ready for some more? Join @Harada_TEKKEN, @mykeryu, @nkt_dreamer & @y_esports for the next TEKKEN Talk introducing the post-release roadmap on Feb 20 at 17:00 JST | 00:00 AM PST | 9:00 CET ” wrote the official Tekken Twitter account.

As noted in the tweet, the next Tekken Talk Live is set to air Tuesday, February 20, at 12 a.m. PT / 5 p.m. JST / 9 a.m. CET. You can watch it on the official Tekken Twitch channel or on the Bandai Namco Esports YouTube channel.

At this point in time, we know that Tekken 8 is receiving four DLC characters for the first year of content support. Eddy Gordo is the first to be revealed and is set for release in Spring this year, while the other three will follow in the Summer, Fall, and Winter, respectively.

Bandai Namco has already shared this roadmap with the masses, so it’ll be interesting to see what they discuss during the Tekken Talk Live show. From the sounds of it, we’ll be hearing more about other modes and features set to be added to the game.

While we’re sitting here trying to guess what all will be unveiled during the presentation, Bandai Namco has actually provided some small details regarding the show’s contents. Right now, an in-game announcement within Tekken 8 divulges some of the things we’ll be seeing talked about during the Tekken Talk.

“An update is planned for release soon,” begins the in-game news post. “The details of this update and other future development and operation milestones will be revealed at the ‘TEKKEN Talk Live’ live-streaming event on Tuesday, February 20. For details, please check the official X account.”

The next update will bring the game up to version 1.02.01. The specific release and server maintenance details will be announced as soon as they are finalized, according to Bandai Namco.

The following features and additions are listed as being included in the upcoming patch:

– New feature “TEKKEN SHOP” will be implemented.

– Behavior/properties of moves will be adjusted for some characters.

– Other functional improvements and bug fixes.

– Detailed will be announced on the official website at a later date.

What’s even more interesting is that the in-game notice states that the game’s ESRB rating has been updated due to the interactive element of in-game purchases. While we can’t say for sure yet, it does sound like the upcoming Tekken Shop will have players spending real money on items, which is likely why the rating has been changed.
