Players have already had their hands on the new update for Street Fighter 6 including Terry Bogard’s addition to the game, and they’re starting to form some strong thoughts on the outlook of the game after the most recent changes.
Longtime Japanese pro Saishunkan|Nemo just dropped his latest SF6 tier list for the post-update landscape of the game that does feature Terry on his rankings.
Nemo ended up rating characters from S where there’s a single inclusion down to E though it seems he feels that most of the cast still has a good chance to compete.
It also seems that he couldn’t quite narrow down a top 5 specifically in the game right now and instead focused on a top 8, which does seem pretty in line with how many in the competitive scene have been feeling as of late.
Thankfully, we do have our own Nicholas “Majintenshinhan” Taylor to provide translations of Nemo’s tier rank breakdowns.
“My personal impressions after the update. I still think there’s a clear top 8 which is S-B tier.”
S-> This season’s best character
A-> Almost everyone would put in top 5
B-> People don’t hesitate to put in their top 5 (I personally think just having a top 8 is fine)
C-> The characters above are better so they feel a bit difficult
D-> They have very clear weaknesses, but also have their strengths
E-> They’re just annoying to fight
At the top of that S tier mountain for Nemo actually sits Ed, so it seems that even with the nerfs to his level 2 Super meter gain, he still believes the boxer still has what it takes to be the best.
We have to wonder if that has anything to do with SNB|Momochi, BST|Fuudo, Sasamo, SNB|Yamaguchi, and BC|Tachikawa all putting in work with Ed at Street Fighter League Pro-JP 2024 lately.
And yes, his hatred for Zangief has become a bit of a meme, but the grappler still sits in A tier for Nemo despite his new nerfs / adjustments along with the likes of Rashid.
As for his own character in Season 2, M. Bison is placed solidly within the B rank between Ken and Akuma, so that’s looking like pretty good company as part of his top 8 picks for the game.
Some other interesting picks fall outside that range, however, including Chun-Li and Juri.
And if you’re wondering how Nemo is feeling about Terry here in the first week, it’s apparently not very hot.
The Fatal Fury star is placed all the way down in D tier next to Manon and Dhalsim.
Like he pointed to in his breakdown, D means these characters do have their strengths and uses, but also some notable / glaring weaknesses.
In the case of Terry, you should read our in-depth review on Mr. Bogard if you haven’t already to get a clearer picture as to why, but the totality of his shortcomings may fall on his normal attack options.
It is obviously extremely early with players still delving into Terry’s machinations as they apply to SF6, so this could easily change in the future when we get to see what he can do at the tournament level.
But for now, Terry is rated the lowest out of the current DLC characters in the game.
