Street Fighter 6’s big Season 2 balance update is scheduled to drop later this month alongside Akuma, and we now know some more about what it’s likely going to contain for the cast.
While there were early reports about adjustments coming out of the Japanese Akuma test, multiple sources from a new preview event are detailing more balance changes from the build with more concrete details.
Before we get really into it, these most definitely won’t be all of the adjustments coming to SF6 later this month, and things may still change further for the final build that everyone will get their hands on.
It seems VG247 actually got their hands on the new patch and put in some time to look for some interesting buffs for a handful of the roster.
Manon is poised to apparently receive a few buffs like back heavy punch now connecting with the Overdrive Renversé kick follow-up, but that’s not the scary one.
Her medal level will also increase the amount of damage Manon’s level 3 Super and Critical Art can do. They don’t say just how much except that it’s “absurd.”
Dengeki Online showed off some images, however, with HiFight estimated full stocked CA may do over 5,100 damage.

Zangief could special cancel the second hit of his Power Stomps as well as crouch heavy punch launching on Punish Counter for new combo potential.
Jamie’s also got a bit more combo sauce with his crouch medium punch going from +3 to +5 on regular hit.
While it was previously known that a blocked Sumo Smash will put him out of command grab range, VG247 says E. Honda’s butt slam causes a hard knockdown on hit.
Justin Wong also claims Honda’s crouch medium kick becomes special cancelable while Sumo Spirit is active too.
Kimberly can cancel OD Bushin Senpukyaku into her aerial level 2 Super.
Although Luke is getting his crazy jump heavy punch nerfed, he’s apparently going to see some buffs too.
Luke could combo heavy punch into light Flash Knuckle while the damage to his DDT follow-up on the OD Flash Knuckle has been increased. Note on the footage here, though, that Akuma has around 10% less health than most of the roster.

It seems like the hitbox on Luke’s crouch heavy punch may also be nerfed.
Luke CrHP nerf:
Ok i agree with this nerf but it is big in corner @Abood__bboy @_MenaRD__Also another buff in PC with StHP > M Knuckle charge
But at the same time they nerf the damage we need some Jap translation

A.K.I. is set to receive some good buffs as well with her light Serpent Lash puts the opponent in a stun state on Punish Counter, and she can combo into level 3 Super from Cruel Fate.
Sajam also showed that her light Snake Step moves backwards along with the aforementioned changes.
The big balance update is set to hit Street Fighter 6 alongside Akuma on May 22, and it seems like Capcom will likely give more details about what else the adjustments will include as we get closer to release.
If there’s any other notable changes you’ve seen that weren’t mentioned here or the previous story, let us know in the comments.
