There’s just two more weeks until Akuma finally takes the stage in Street Fighter 6, and a lot of new details and information about the demon are hitting the scene already.
Capcom just released a new set of high-resolution screenshots showcasing Akuma’s Outfit 2 option in SF6, providing players who may prefer his classic attire a much better look at what will be available.
The first shot is a simple straight on look at the garb Akuma’s been rocking since basically Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo though if you notice he has the gray streaks in his hair like the Street Fighter 3 design.
Third is his classic Messatsu pose, which appears to be taken from one of his available taunts (though it’s also now part of the startup animation of his level 1 Super Art Messatsu Gohado) and looks similar to the demon’s V-Skill 2 from Street Fighter 5.
Finally, there’s the ending shot of Akuma’s Shun Goku Satsu Critical Art with the iconic ten / heaven kanji on his back, which can apparently and scarily be canceled into after Drive Rush.
Like all previous characters in SF6, Akuma’s Outfit 2 can be unlocked by maximizing his master level in World Tour mode or by spending 50 Fighter Coins ($1 USD).
Outfit 3 options for Akuma, Ed, Rashid and A.K.I. will also be dropping at the end of this month with the new DLC character too, but Capcom hasn’t actually shown them off yet — except for dozens of ideas they scrapped.
Following a recent preview event, we now know much more about Akuma and the upcoming update including his move list, character select screen, costume colors, balance patch details and more.
Akuma and the Season 2 balance update are scheduled to drop on May 22.
