Manchester United have made some great lesser-known signings over the last few days.
Yesterday news broke that United had entered the advanced stages of negotiations for Paraguayan defender Diego Leon.
The 17-year-old currently plays for Cerro Porteno in the top tier of the Paraguayan football league, Primera Division Clausura.
However, by the end of the day, it was announced that the two clubs had come to a verbal agreement, with Leon included, for the left-back to move to Old Trafford in June 2025.
Unfortunately for United, this is the earliest that they could officially move for Leon, with the club prohibited from signing any under 18-year-olds from outside of the UK.
Leon turns 18 in April, meaning he’ll still be 17 throughout the January transfer window, forcing United to wait until the summer for his arrival.
However, United have made another signing that they don’t need to wait for him to arrive.

Emmanuel Ziro arrives at Old Trafford
The Red Devils have now signed highly rated grassroots winger Emmanuel Ziro.
The youngster is joining United’s academy from Cre8tive Football, with Ziro praised as one of England’s most exciting prospects on the wing.
Now, the young winger has arrived at Old Trafford, being greeted by new signing Sekou Kone.
When his signing was announced, Ziro struggled to contain his excitement, turning to social media, commenting: “Firstly, I would like to thank my family for all their love, support and encouragement throughout the years.
“For as long as I can remember I’ve had a ball at my feet and enjoy the game of football. I now have the opportunity to continue doing that at the biggest club in the world, as well as the team I support.
“I look forward to continuing my journey playing for Manchester United and would like to thank everyone that has contributed to my development up until now especially @cre8tive.football. You guys are my family and I thank you for everything you have done for me up.”
