New Juri costume spotted in Street Fighter 6's launch trailer, featuring Lil Wayne

The Street Fighter 6 content just keeps flowing in as Capcom posted the game’s official launch trailer Thursday morning. Said trailer is narrated by rapper Lil Wayne, and shows off bits of gameplay we haven’t seen up until this point.

This gameplay includes a few brief scenes from the game’s main story mode, World Tour, as they’re spliced between live action scenes of Wayne and some friends intensely playing. We also spotted Juri in a costume we’ve yet to see her in… at least when it comes to Street Fighter 6.

Juri is one of the franchise’s newer characters (she was introduced in Street Fighter 4) and has garnered more fan appreciation than most any other newcomers that’ve followed. She appeared in Street Fighter 5 as DLC, and her continued popularity has no doubt played a role in her landing a base roster spot in SF6.

Though we only see her for a bit more than a second, Juri is wearing the bodysuit attire she had in Street Fighter 5, which is no doubt going to be a nostalgia costume option in SF6.

We snapped a few screen shots of the costume so you can check out some of the details. The camera is really close to Juri for the short sequence, but we do get a good look at her front and back, and note that the undershirt she had in Street Fighter 5 has been removed this time around.

The trailer otherwise underscores a theme of gaming as art, showing excited players enjoying and sharing Street Fighter 6 through modern means such as live streaming and across handheld social media apps.

In fact, we even spot some familiar faces as WWE wrestler Zelina Vega and talented cosplayer Jahara Jayde are featured in photos during the social media scene.

The very first Street Fighter’s intro sequence featured a fighter breaking through a spray painted brick wall, and that’s called back to directly in a visually well-executed sequence around the 34 second mark as two live action spray painters complete a mural of Luke and Ryu just before both characters burst through it.

Check out the full launch trailer below and let us know how excited you are for Street Fighter 6 in the comments afterwards.

Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to release on June 2 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
