November 12, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – A New Jersey man was arraigned Tuesday afternoon, accused of strangling a random woman who later died from her injuries. The heinous crime occurred outside the RIU Plaza New York Times Square Hotel, cops said.
Leslie Torres, 23, was viciously attacked after being stalked through Midtown on October 29th. Police say Torres was strangled unconscious and her unresponsive body was left on a sidewalk near the hotel on West 46th Street near Eighth Avenue.
Jaheem Warren, 33, arrested in Prospect Park, New Jersey by the US Marshals and has since been charged with murder, assault, & strangulation.
Warren, who has a lengthy criminal rap sheet was seen Tuesday afternoon, escorted out the Midtown Precinct North by NYPD Detectives to a waiting jail transport vehicle.
The young victim was taken off life support and pronounced deceased on November 4th, officials said.
