We are officially one week away from Street Fighter 6’s first major update. On top of seeing the release of final Season 1 DLC character, Akuma, Capcom will also be releasing the large Season 2 balance update that will introduce changes for every character on the roster.
Last night, new footage of Akuma, the S2 update, and the new Outfit 3 for the first wave of DLC characters hit the internet as some select folks out there have been given time with the new update to prepare for the upcoming AT&T Annihilator Cup tournament that’s taking place this week. This time we’re taking a look at some new clips featuring Akuma taking on Rashid, A.K.I., and Ed as they all wear their new Outfit 3s.
The following clips come from jakenbakeLIVE, who was given access to the latest build as they are entered into the upcoming competition. Jake streamed the game last night for a couple of hours, and during that time not only revealed Outfit 3 for all four of the DLC characters, but also allowed viewers to watch level 8 CPU opponents going up against each other to show optimal play from all ends.
In the first bit of footage, level 8 CPU Akuma goes up against level 8 CPU Rashid in his new costume. Rashid’s outfit 3 sees him in a sporty getup that has a lot of vibrant color palettes, though the one we see in action here is a darker option that looks great in motion.
On top of seeing more of the new cosmetics, the CPU opponents pull off several impressive feats and provide a closer look at what high level Akuma play might ultimately look like. At one point, Akuma parries Rashid’s tornado pressure, then counters his air dash with a back + heavy kick launcher that converts into a full Drive Rush combo for very solid damage and corner carry.
The two subsequent clips also feature another look at A.K.I.’s new outfit, as well as Ed’s. A.K.I. gains the appearance of what appears to be a K-Pop idol, while Ed sees his Street Fighter 5 default costume come back with a new coat instead of his original short cape.
Of course, once you’re all done with watching the new Outfit 3 costumes in action below, be sure to check out our round up of all 10 colors for all four new Street Fighter 6 costumes to see what options you’ll have come launch.
Akuma, the Season 2 balance update, and Outfit 3 for the DLC characters will all be launching together on May 22.
