After years of waiting, the Netflix Devil May Cry animated series is finally here and on the scene.

And if you’re wondering if there’s any references or cameos of other Capcom franchises in the Devil May Cry show, the answer is yes.

Some minor spoilers for Devil May Cry episode 2 may follow.

In the second episode of the DMC series, a group of mercenaries are sent to capture Dante and his necklace, and that goes about as well as you’d expect for them.

Dante is shown to have multiple arcade cabinets in his apartment somehow, and at least one of them works — or at least it did.

During the brawl, one of the mercs attempts to run away but is grabbed by the demon hunter, and then we suddenly see Street Fighter 2.

On the arcade cabinet, Ken is shown giving a Shoryuken to M. Bison followed by Mr. Masters’ win pose with the ‘Perfect!’ sound effect.

This is of course just a fun little reference to another Capcom property, but it’s still cool to see nonetheless.

The Ken inclusion could also be a little tribute to Dante’s previous voice actor as well.

Reuben Langdon voiced Dante starting in Devil May Cry 3 as well as spin-offs like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but that’s not all.

Langdon also voiced Ken Masters starting in Street Fighter 4, which he continued to do for over a decade until Street Fighter 6 where he did not reprise his role again.

Now, Johnny Yong Bosch provides the voice of Dante in the show, who was previously the actor of Nero in the Devil May Cry games.

If there’s any other Capcom references in the new show, we’re not sure because we haven’t gotten any further in the series yet.

You can check out the Street Fighter clip below around the 1:04 mark if it doesn’t start there automatically.
