NetherRealm Studios shows off a new screenshot for Ermac in Mortal Kombat 1

The Ermac and Mavado trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 revealed to us that Ermac will become playable starting on April 16 via early access, while those without the Kombat Pack will get him starting on April 23. As expected, this gameplay trailer gave us plenty of details with regards to how Ermac will play in Mortal Kombat 1.

However, it seems that NetherRealm Studios isn’t quite done with teasing Ermac. On the Official Mortal Kombat Twitter, a new screenshot featuring Ermac has surfaced.

Within this screenshot, we can clearly see Ermac performing an uppercut against Liu Kang. Just like with all other uppercuts in Mortal Kombat 1, Liu Kang is being launched by the attack.

Rather than having a closed-fist uppercut, Ermac has his palm wide open. There also appears to be green energies emanating from his wrist and hand as he does this.

From what I can tell, this attack was not featured in the trailer. Of course, it’s also worth pointing out that uppercuts are rarely used in competitive play though they can sometimes be reliable anti-airs for characters such as Baraka.

Assuming the green energy featured in the screenshot is representative of the hitbox of Ermac’s uppercut, then this could potentially be on of the better uppercuts in the game. Check it out below:
