It hasn’t even been a week yet since the last announcement for Chrollo Lucilfer joining the roster of Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact, but there’s already another new fighter on the way.
During the Japan Expo going on in France, Arc System Works and Bushiroad Games officially revealed Feitan Portor in a new trailer for the HxH fighting game.
Although we got to briefly see him as part of Chrollo’s showcase, we now have confirmation that Feitan is taking the stage with his boss and get to see what he looks like in action.
It looks like the latest character largely fights using his Trick Umbrella as a sword to give him some extended range over most others on the cast.
Fans of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will likely recognize some very similar moves to Dante and especially Vergil in Feitan’s move set considering we see attacks that look like Helm Splitter, Lunar Phase, Million Stab and a Rapid Slash-like Super.
This isn’t too surprising since Nen Impact is being developed by the same team as MvC3 in Eighting though it is still interesting to see like this.
His official character description also makes it sound as though he has a built-in comeback mechanic with “Unforgiven: Pain Packer” getting more powerful the lower Feitan’s health is.
Along with Chrollo, Feitan joins Machi and Uvogin as members of the Phantom Troupe playable in the 3v3 Hunter x Hunter game, and there may only be around four or so more fighters yet to be revealed.
Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC with a slated release window of 2024.
