Nawfia community reelects President General, Okoye for second term amid tight security

The people of Nawfia community, in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, went around the streets in jubilation as the community conduct a free, fair, and peaceful election to reelect it President General, Chief Daniel Okoye for a second term in office amidst tight security.

It was gathered that the election which took place at the community civil center, on Saturday, was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere with the presence of security operatives, and the media.

Elders and youths of the community that formed the electoral college were cleared to participate in the process by the supervising officials from the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs led by Mr. Mgbike Ikechukw and the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), led by Chief Vin Dike respectively.

In his post-election speech, the President-General-elect thanked the State Government and the representatives of ASATU, the Security agencies, the media and other stakeholders for creating time to be in Nawfia community for the exercise.

Okoye while expressing gratitude to them for a successful election, noted that his administration will continue to work and support governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.

He assured that the development of various dimensions in the community under his watch would continue.

He explained that one of the main areas of focus with his executive would be geared towards a sustained peace, unity and togetherness among the sons and daughters of Nawfia Kingdom.

According to Okoye, with what governor Soludo have done to the community which includes; empowerment of Nawfia youth through the state government “one youth two skills empowerment programme”, the ongoing road constructions, rehabilitation of public primary schools, health care facilities and the appointment of two industrious son/daughter into his cabinet, he will mobilized  his people to ensure that the governor clinch 100/100 votes in the upcoming November 8, 2025: governorship election in the state.

The Paradise News report that Chief Okoye polled total number of 188 votes while Vice President general, Sir Innocent Kpachi polled 186 votes.

Other executives included; Mr. Anthony Nebechi, Secretary general-173 votes, Mr. Henry Nwanne, Assistant Secretary general-154 votes, Engr. Chibuzor Onwujekwu, Treasurer-152, Mr. Emeka Aguoji, Financial Secretary-145, Mr. Joseph Anayo Nwana, Provost-150 votes, Mr. Ikenna Onyema Douglas, Publicity Secretary-149, while Mr. Okechukwu Odumegwu, Welfare Secretary got 162.
