Another health reprieve has come for the people of Nawfia community in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State, following the official commissioning of a brand new Primary Health Care Center philanthropically built by the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake and her friends.
The commissioning took place on Friday 23rd October, 2025.
Speaking to our reporter, the overjoyed residents of Nawfia, particularly, Nawfia Ward 1, where the facility is located, described the development as a dream come true, stating that the new health center would safe them the stress of transporting their sick ones to a long distance hospital amidst hardship.
Men, women, youths and children trooped into the arena of the newly built health centre to witness the official commissioning.

After the official handing over of the health centre to the Anambra state government, Mrs Nnake, said the new clinic is in line with governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led administration’s commitment to delivering quality health care to the people at the grassroots.
She then urged the people to take ownership of the Centre and protect it for durability and quality delivery.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Adviser to governor Soludo on new media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, explain that the Commissioner took the initiative to build the new PHC in Ward 1 through her own contributions and those of her friends.and handed over the keys to the government, and the Anambra State Government swiftly equipped and staffed the facility.
“This is a shining example of Governor Soludo’s Public-Private-Community-Partnership (PPCP) in action. The handover was followed by a 2-day free medical outreach, touching lives and bringing hope to the people. This is what leadership is all about – taking responsibility, mobilizing the people, and getting things done, Opara emphasized.
He commended the community also playing a vital role by providing the land for the structure.
In his appreciation on behalf of the community, the President General of Nawfia Town Union, Chief Daniel Okoye, said the community will work in collaboration with the state government to ensure that the health care centre gets the necessary assistant in terms of security.
He thanked Mrs Nnake and her friends for the kind gesture.
Primary health care delivery, which is the first level point of care for any individual with health problems, ought to cater for over 70% of Nigerians who seek health care services especially in the rural communities.
