The National Youth Service Corps members serving under the Federal Road Service Corps Cross River State yesterday in a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development/NYSC Board Chairman CRS Comrade Asu Okang, commended HE Sen. Prof Ayade Benedict for the complete renovation of the NYSC orientation Thecamp at the permanent site in Obubra Local Government Area.
The President of the team, Mr. Emeka who was astonished by the expedient response of government to the threadbare inherited facilities of the NYSC described it as a “very outstanding performance that is unsung”.
The Honourable Commissioner while receiving the youth corp members recounted the input made by the government in the Obubra project despite the lean resources of the State even at a time of other pressing needs.
The cost borne financially, time injection and a drastic adjustment of the academic calendar in relocating corp members of the Batch A stream 1 and 2, 2017 to a temporal orientation camp all set up from scratch at the College of Education, Akamkpa just to be able to conduct the renovation exercise wholly by even extermination of all worn out and outdated facilities to an ultra modern specs and hostel design in Obubra.
He assured them of a continuous serene, safe and hospitable environment in C’river as a mark of our tourism potentials, while urging them to be good citizens.
The team promised to put a little spice to the Independent Day Celebrations at the UJ Esuene Stadium billed for 1st October to extol HE Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade’s innovative impact in C’river at the request of the Sport boss.
