National Off Consumption Trade Marketer | Meridian Wine Merchants at Managed People Solutions

Job Purpose:

The National Off Consumption Trade Marketer is responsible for all trade marketing solutions in the Off Consumption channel as determined by brand and portfolio trade marketing strategies with data support guiding decision making.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualise and co-ordinate annual and quarterly off consumption promotional plans and calendar in support of company, portfolio and supplier strategy.
Support the development of brand and varietal strategies by identifying new and existing channels, segments and point of sale opportunities.
Support the development of brand plans and agreed Meridian activity plan by producer, based on brand and portfolio objectives.
Develop, manage and track execution standards of identified brand sales levers for the off consumption channel.
Work with the Sales Leadership Team to support the implementation of category management, core tiers, Meridian portfolio spaces and establish merchandising standards.
Regular trade calls and joint calls with RSMs or KAMs for market intelligence as well as negotiation, development and roll out strategies for activities.
Source, develop and facilitate the purchase and timeous delivery of point of sale material to support Trade Marketing strategies, plans and objectives.
Develop and deliver effective sales tools for portfolio and brand products and services.
Create, brief, trial and develop promotional activities and campaigns from concept to market roll out ready.
Evaluate and select vendors and suppliers for promotional materials and services to required standards.
Support sales capability by developing brand trade marketing negotiation packs for the sales force.
Act as a conduit of information flow between clients and Meridian for off consumption brand and portfolio activity as well as quarterly feedback to clients on activity completed.
Prepare Quarter Planning and Quarter Brief presentations to present to the Sales Leadership Team and Regional team/s.
Communicate regularly with Sales teams to ensure that implementation plans are on track.
Manage project and activity budgets and evaluate return on investment of marketing materials and activations.
Ensure that all filing systems are maintained up to date as per organizational filing system.

Requirements:

Diploma and/or BCom Degree in Marketing and/related fields.
Wine related Certificate or Diploma (would be beneficial).
Minimum 2 years trade and/or marketing experience and track record in sales and/or marketing at national level.
Experience in strategic and commercial planning.
