Natalie Portman isn’t one to spill the beans about her private life. She’s pretty tight-lipped about it. There’s been some talk that she and her hubby, Benjamin Millepied, have called it quits. They’ve been hitched for over ten years.
The Thor star decided to address the gossip. She had a chat with Vanity Fair on Feb. 21. Her words? “It’s terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it.”
Portman also gave a bit of a glimpse into how she juggles living in Paris and Los Angeles. She’s got a pretty low-key life in L.A., she says. “I lead a very non-Hollywood life in L.A.,” she told Vanity Fair.
She resides on the east side. She’s got a mix of friends, some in showbiz, others not. When they hang out, they don’t do the typical Hollywood stuff. No glitzy parties for them. They prefer backyard dinners at home.
About a year ago, there were whispers. Multiple sources claimed that Millepied, now 45, had been unfaithful.
Portman and Millepied have two kids together. Their son Aleph is 12, and their daughter Amalia is 6. They first met in 2009. Millepied was helping Portman prepare for a role in the 2010 thriller Black Swan. She was playing an aspiring ballet dancer.
Portman reminisced about it in a 2018 SiriusXM Town Hall interview. “I met my husband on it, so I think I was in, like, dreamland,” she said. “It seemed pretty fun the whole time. We had a whole, like, he was teaching me to dance.”
Their relationship didn’t start with fireworks. Portman, now 42, said it was more of a slow burn. Their bond grew over time.
