In the summer, Napoli signed Manchester United academy graduate Scott McTominay, as The Red Devils wanted to part ways with their midfielder.
United agreed to the deal worth £25 million, with McTominay signing a four-year contract to see him with the Italian club until 2028.
Since arriving, the 28-year-old has made 15 appearances, with three goals and three assists helping towards the club’s strong Serie A campaign.
Napoli are currently in second place, tied on points with league leaders Atalanta.
Recently it’s been reported that Napoli are interested in United’s Marcus Rashford, with the clubs looking at a potential swap deal including Antonio Conte’s out-of-favour striker, Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker is currently on loan with Galatasaray, lighting up the Turkish Super Lig, however, could be recalled this month to complete a transfer.
However, now Conte is looking to another United star to strengthen their squad.

Napoli look to Harry Maguire
The Athletic has reported that Napoli are once more looking to Old Trafford, this time at defender Harry Maguire.
The consideration started as Napoli considered him an “interesting option” with his contract set to expire in the summer, making him eligible for a free transfer.
However, since then United have triggered the 12-month extension in Maguire’s contract to retain him for another 12 months.
This doesn’t necessarily rule out a move to Napoli though.
Extending his contract strengthens United’s position in any negotiations, whilst also providing Ruben Amorim with the option of keeping him in his long-term plans.
No doubt Napoli will continue to monitor the situation to see how the new contract extension affects his position in the squad. However, Amorim has previously referred to Maguire as the perfect defender for a back three, fitting the new manager’s system.
