The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has seized counterfeit agrochemical products known as “patriac” in Bauchi State.
The products worth N5m were seized during a joint raid on agrochemical sellers in Bauchi metropolis, following intelligence reports on the circulation of the product.
In a statement issued on Friday, NAFDAC said the operation led to the sealing of three facilities and arrest of the owners.
It read, “NAFDAC investigation & Enforcement team is actively pursuing the importer or the manufacturer responsible for these counterfeit goods.
“The Agency underscores the importance of purchasing regulated products from genuine sources to prevent health and safety risks.
“The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious products or activities to the nearest NAFDAC office to ensure swift regulatory action and uphold consumer safety.”
