WOODLEAF, N.C. (TCN) — A 44-year-old man is in custody after allegedly killing his wife and his friend’s husband over the weekend.
According to the Rowan County Sheriffs’ Office, on the morning of Sept. 14, a woman called 911 after Jonathan Freeman sent her a photograph of her husband, Bryan Burr, deceased inside their residence. Deputies also received a report that Jonathan Freeman’s wife, Teri Freeman, was found dead in the home.
Authorities responded to the scene, where they found the two victims with fatal gunshot wounds. Officers also located Jonathan Freeman at the residence.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators executed a search warrant and collected evidence at the home of Burr and his wife. During the investigation, authorities said Jonathan Freeman made “incriminating statements” to people after the victims’ deaths and admitted to the killings.
Detectives charged Jonathan Freeman with two counts of murder, and he was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 17.
