My Ordeal In Tinubu’s Hand Life Experience – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said his experience since helping to produce President Bola Tinubu in 2023 was merely another life experience.

The former FCT was overlooked when Tinubu was forming his cabinet, although the president sent his name to the National Assembly; he was rejected for what the National Assembly said was due to “security risk,” bordering on “poor human rights,” when he was governor of Kaduna State.

Since then, the one-time strongman of Kaduna politics has been at the centre of stormy political criticism of both the Tinubu administration and Kaduna State and has been accused of trying to upend the governments because he failed to secure a ministerial position.

He often takes to X/Twitter to state his opinion on the government in his state of Kaduna, which has brought him face-to-face with the governor, Uba Sani, his one-time political ally.

The governor some months ago agreed to probe the former government in the state, further bringing political war between him and his successor.

A committee set up by the Kaduna State Assembly probed the administration and said billions of naira went missing when El-Rufai was governor.

Some of the appointees, including commissioners, are standing trial for alleged contract fraud running into billions of naira.

El-Rufai, who has not publicly spoken about the humiliation of being rejected as a ministerial nominee, received rare support over the weekend when an X/Twitter user, Yusuf Tukur, claimed that Tinubu and his allies had actively sought El-Rufai’s support before the election but later accused him of not backing the president.

“When they were desperately seeking El-Rufai’s support, #officialABAT and his goons were everywhere singing Malam’s praises. Given their penchant for ingratitude, however, they’ve turned around to claim that Malam didn’t even support PBAT. But these testimonies say otherwise,” the tweet read.

But the former governor, who continues to retweet any anti-Tinubu tweet as well as any negative story that portrays the suffering in the country and poor leadership in his state of Kaduna, responded, “We did what we did for God, Country and party, expecting nothing in return.

“What is unfolding is merely another life experience, @realYusufTukur, and part and parcel of human nature.

“We have gotten over it and moved on, but their conscience won’t let them sleep well. Thanks anyway,” El-Rufai wrote.
