MultiVersus is giving the internet coded mysteries to solve for a reveal that's 'worth it'

After being gone for almost a year, MultiVersus is coming back in full force later this month, and while they haven’t showed much for new content yet, that may very well be changing very soon.

PlayerFirst Games kicked off an interesting campaign today to get the internet involved with solving mysteries leading up to some sort of reveal that’ll be “worth it.”

As detailed in their X/Twitter thread, the MultiVersus Discord is hosting a “What’s in the box!?” sort of scavenger hunt providing clues that anyone on the server can attempt to answer.

There is said to be 10 clues in total to figure out, and once all are solved, something will happen though we don’t know what.

Most of the clues so far have appeared as seemingly innocuous numbers and words, but the hundreds / thousands of people in the Discord are quickly picking apart these riddles in typically less than an hour each.

At the time of reporting, users have completed 7 out of the 10 though the solutions may not make much sense at face value.

Clue number one began with “Be Kind. Rewind.” with the answer Scooby Doo Superman, number two was “082622” with the answer Jinkies Gnarly Rad Tubular, clue number three was “108 00:03:59.00” with the answer Finn & Jake Adventuring Incorporated, number four as “34149414 118337852” with the answer The Daily Planet Office, number five was “Mistakes were made. Or were they?” with the answer Guzmo, number six was “142, 4, 9” with the answer “Just Laugh it off” and seventh was “The Morse Code” with the answer Shenanigans.

Most of the answers are in reference to the various characters and series featured in MVS, Warner Bros. themselves and also some apparent hints they’ve been dropping in social media posts.

The fourth clue, for example, can be converted to coordinates that take you to the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California at the spot The Daily Planet set was apparently located.

Number seven actually calls back to an official TikTok video for MultiVersus showing a wedding dress costume for Garnet from last week. People took notice then that the red blinking light on the TV spelled out “shenanigans” in morse code though no one knew what it meant then.

This digital scavenger hunt has apparently ended for the night, but the last three clues will start going up tomorrow, May 8, again at 9 a.m. PDT / noon EDT until all are solved.

Although we don’t yet know what sort of reveal will happen once all 10 are complete, but fans are obviously hopeful its a build up to new character announcements.

Some are trying to suggest that many of these clues point to The Joker from Batman, which wouldn’t be too surprising, though at this point, people are expecting more than just him — since he was technically leaked a long time ago.

MultiVersus is scheduled to release its full version on May 28 with new characters, stages, modes, mechanics, netcode and more, which we’ll hopefully be seeing more of very soon.

So tune back in tomorrow when we finally get to see what’s in the box.
